When playing a playlist or an album I would expect the next song to automatically start after the current song ends.

The current behavior, however, stops the playback after one, or just a few songs. When this happens I cannot manually switch to a new song, all play/pause buttons control the song that just ended. So until I reload the page all I can do is listen to the same song over and over.

This might be the repeat of:

Debug info:

Using Google Chrome Version 71.0.3578.98 on Debian-based Linux with kernel 4.18.10

I've just replied to you on another topic @rexar1988 thanks for the feedback!

Is this happening on the same track? If not, in what section is this happening?

Same issue with the PC version.

Whenever I use a playlist, the first song plays, sometimes the second one, and then it just … stop. And it’s stuck on THAT song. I can play it again but I can’t pick another song until I shutdown the whole software.

Tried uninstall and install again, didn’t fix it.

I think the issue apparread after I used the “play a song on loop”. (It may be just a bad timing, but it occured after that).

Are you on a free subscription, @Zenbast? Have you tried on a browser just to test? Let me know, please!

I’m on a free subscription yes.

It works fine on browser so far.

Today on the smartphone application “Flow” refused to play but my playlist worked fine. This issue is not there on the pc website. I don’t know if it is related.

I was trying to listen to music on the website but I realizaed that it won’t change the song I’m listening to, it will even say the song i’m supposed to be listening to but it’s the same song and I dont know how to fix it

Thanks a lot for coming back to me @Zenbast

Please keep an eye for version 4.33.1 which will be released, it should improve the experience and I'll need your feedback to pass on to our devs :relaxed:

Hey @Aika

Is this happening on desktop or mobile? Apologies for the inconvenience!

I’m on version 4.33.1 and only have the issue with the flow playlist. After one (sometimes a few) song(s) it stops and shows a pop-up with an error message.

What's the error message, @Sjtaski?

Please try uninstalling the app, searching for %appdata and deleting any Deezer folder you find, and then redownloading and reinstalling the app after, to see if it helps :thumbsup_tone2:

Thank you for your answer @Rudi!

I removed Deezer, removed everything in appdata from Deezer and installed the app again. Still the same:

Ok @Sjtaski thanks for coming back! :relaxed:

Could you please try changing the audio quality to see if it helps? Is this happening to the same tracks?

Hi there,
It looks like I’m having the same or a similar issue at least:
Playback stops after one song and the player controls (next & previous buttons) don’t have any effect after about 45+ seconds. After a page reload everything works fine again for one track.

I’m using a free account and Chrome browser (90.0.4430.212).

Also checked it with a premium account: Everything works fine and the described issues couldn’t be observed.
That leads me to the assumption that this isn’t caused by my browser or anti virus.

I had a look at the browser console and found an error which is shown when the player should switch to the next track (see attachment): Cannot read property ‘formats’ of null

I hope that this can be fixed very soon because it’s quite annoying and makes Deezer unusable for me… :frowning2:
Thanks in advance!

I’m having the same issue on Chrome as well. It works fine in FireFox though, so that’s something. It was working fine in Chrome from when I first subscribed last month.

Hi there @XELLEX @Alishams Hassam

Sorry to hear that. Can you please try clearing the browser's cache and cookies to see if it helps?

Hi @Rudi
I tried it with clearing the cache and deleting cookies but nothing changed - the issue is still there…

I also tried it with Firefox 89.0 on Windows and it didn’t work either (attached a picture of the error message: it pops up when the player is supposed to switch to the next track).

Everything was working perfectly with Chrome two weeks ago but then this issue suddenly appeared.

Thanks for coming back @XELLEX

Could you please try changing the audio quality settings to see if it helps?

I'm collecting your screenshots in the meantime, preparing a report.

Hi @Rudi

As I’m using a free account I’m not able to change quality settings - or what do you mean exactly?

With a premium account everything works perfectly fine and I couldn’t discover those issues.

Ahh, my oversight @XELLEX

That could be the reason, the audio quality setting you may be causing the error. That's a new one.

I'll report it further, thank you!

If this happens to you in a web browser, check your media autoplay permissions.

Thanks for sharing this with us @dzamo super cool! Hopefully you'll get some likes on the tip and I can give you a community badge.

Let us know if you have more tricks to share, the community appreciates the knowledge sharing

Song ends and I have to hit retry to play the next song. Cache increased, updates checked, phone restarted, uninstalling the app will be very inconvenient and I'm really not happy to do that.  Premium subscriber Samsung A70, very strong network connection.

Sounds like Deezer really has a big problem here.  I'm going to hold off recommending you for a while.  I'd hate to recommend it and have this app annoy any of my friends this much.

Hey @Heather Miles does this happens at the end of each song or is random?
You don’t need to uninstall the app but upadte it to the latest version 8.51.0 if you don’t have it yet.
Thanks

I had updated before I started this thread, but I found a new update yesterday and tried that because it stopped letting play anything at all.  It has worked perfectly since the update. Thank goodness! I hope it keeps working.  Deezer is about the only thing that gets me through the work day! Thanks so much for your advice!

I have a similar problem. I start playing an album and Deezer Web stops playing after first song.

Linux Mint 20.03.

Mozilla Firefox 96.0.1.

same issue as well. plays one song, then it doesn’t go to the next track automatically. it’s strange because it was working perfectly fine yesterday.

deezer free on windows 10, chromium version 86.0.4240.198

Hello guys,

yes I have expierenced this behaviour as well within the web player.

At first I thought this might be because the “next” song isn’t available in my country but that wasn’t the reason after all.

Windows 10

Firefox 91.5.0esr (64bit)

I hope this helps for further analysis
