It would be great if you could group playlists like into folders
I will go directly with the first streaming provide that implements it!

All since the begining of time I have requested from leading streaming services (Spotify, Tidal, Deezer)... Better to collect vinyl's and order them in the bookshelf.

@daniellj, did you ever subscribe to Rdio? I dearly miss that service, even now, three years after it closed. Already back then it was far better than Deezer (and Spotify). It makes you think why the development of these services seems to have stalled in recent years. Perhaps they've become institutions in their own right and have no hunger any more to win the world. We need a new kid on the block...

Even when Rdio didn't have the tagging or folders, it was heaps easier in finding and managing your music. The minute I hear of a service even at that three-years-back level, my wallet votes for them. :-)

Agree deal breaker for me. Back to Spotify after one day of trying out Deezer. Transferring my Spotify playlists to Deezer just makes it a mess unfortunately.
Hi there, thanks for the suggestion, I will pass it on to the right team! 😉
Another idea regarding playlist management would be to make a playlist with all the songs belonging to the favourite artists (or several, in the resulting playlist is bigger than the limit). This way one could easily shuffle between their favourite artists.

Currently, obtaining such a playlist would imply tens of minutes, if not hours, of work.
Ability to roganize saved albums and playlists to folders or tags (a la gmail) +1
Any news on this feature? Just moved my playlists from Spotify (I have a lot of them) , but cant organize them properly into folders. Its an essential feature, when you have a large collection of music. At the moment Deezer playlists look like a clusterfk and could be the reason I'll come back on using Spotify again.
Please consider to implement folders for favorite albums/playlists.

I've got a big number of favorite albums and it is quite difficult to browse them and to find quickly a required one.

Folders would be very assistant here.
I need a folder for artists in "My Mps3 Playlist"

Folder 1 "Artist 1"

Folder 2 "Artist 2"

Folder 3 "Artist 3"

etc....
The folders to group album and playlists are absolutely necessary!

I just moved to Dezeer after using Spotify for years and I'm astoneshed that here is not possible to group my playlists... they are about 400, how can I manage them?! It's so weird.

A plus could be the possibility to put custom tags in every album and playlists.

I hope these feauters will be implemented soon, thanks.
Please make this feature, we live in 2019 ... it`s essential and possible... and would be awesome!! 😎
Agreed, for me it's really a must. I like to make a lot of playlists for artists, genres, moods, recommandations, etc... Without ability to organize them, it's a bit of a mess. I really want a solution for this.
It would be great if we were able to group the favorite artists/albums/playlists either by genre or with custom groups. Currently it can be quite chaotic. Thanks!!
Hi there @Melina Marangou

Thank you for your input and support, it's a good idea. I've moved your comment here so that you can support this existing one, which is related to yours. Don't forget to leave your vote 😉
Make it so that your albums songs and artists can be listened to according to genre.

Right now you can only listen to genre outside of your own music.

For example, say I want to listen to a mix of all my music, but I have a wide range of music including rap and classical. Now, I might not be in the mood for classical and only for rap, but if there was a way to sort my music by genre I could simply go to rap and listen to only the rap songs I added.
I would like to add that playlist folders can be a workaround for the problem of max. 2k tracks in playlists, too. As it seems, this technical limit will not be raised anytime soon in Deezer, so having playlist folders where we can move and sort single playlists to and also play the whole folder in shuffle mode if possible would circumvent this limitation.
Some news about this?

Let's keep voting!
This is a great idea, and one missing from all streaming services (AFAIK).
Hi there @Riethvs @korg250

Thank you for your input and feedback. I've moved your comments here because the ideas are related and should be discussed by the same teams. Please vote 😉
Summary:

  • My favourites have become a huge mix of different music genres. I'd like to be able to tell Deezer to create playlists made from all tracks that are in my favourites, based on a theme or genre that I select.
  • I'd love this on my mobile devices more than anything, but I use the web player as well, could be useful there.

When I'm out and listening to Flow or a mix via my mobile phone, to save myself time, I commonly add a new track to my favourites (by tapping the heart icon), instead of adding it to a specific playlist. I always promise myself that I'll go through my Favourites and break them down into playlists based on genre, but have I done? No.

My favourite has now grown to 350+ tracks (and it show no signs of stopping!) that are a huge mix up of different genres and they're all added in no particular order.

The problem with this, is when I playback my favourite tracks I'll often get a surprise when I'm listening to a chilled out track and then the next track is dubstep, it's just a bit over the place. I love all the tracks, I just wish I had an automatic way to group them together by a theme or genre when I want to listen to them again.

I'd love to be able to tell Deezer to create a playlist from the tracks in my favourites, based on a genre, mood or perhaps several artists (like with channels), so for example I tell it to create an EDM playlist and it searches my favourites and collects all music from that genre and creates a playlist for me.

Exactly my issue and wish.

I tried to create different playlists for each genre, but there's no way of knowing if a particular favorite track is already on a playlist (there is no visual mark) so the process is tiresome.

You can create playlist folders in the desktop app of Spotify and also play them in shuffle mode, but not in their web player or mobile apps anymore.

My comment was to the idea of filtering the playlist by genre, not about the playlist folder. @Rudi transferred my comment here, but I was talking about something else (in another thread).

Anyhow, thank you for the info. I have a friend that moved to Deezer because of this removal in the mobile app.
Hey @korg250

We'll look at sorting by genre when organising or grouping music in their respective section 😉

It seems this thread has drifted away from the simple request of being able to sort playlists into folders.  Maybe it veered back, but I got tired of reading off subject posts.
I would just like to add my vote to the ‘folder sort for playlists’ idea with a caveat.  I recently switched from Spotify which went from an awesome app to an annoying disappointment rife with bugs and instability..  I think they tried to do many things with less than competent than programmers.  If the truly awesome smooth Deezer app will go the way of Spotify than just leave it as is.  I will still love it.

Thank you for the feedback@JadeRiver, it's very honest and appreciated. All ideas and suggestions from this forum are increasingly monitored these days. So this one isn't an exception - your vote counts.
