Does deezer connect work with the regular app or do you need a beta version?

I have been using it even in beta, and am loving it.

What would be grand, is to have a headless endpoint that could run on dedicated streamers. For the community, it would offer an ubiquitous streaming solution. For Deezer, potentially more subscribers.

I am willing and able to create and maintain such a cross-platform Deezer Connect streamer, voluntarily, not-for-profit, as a fun passion project.

I would very much like to get in touch with you to make this happen, in a way that is sanctioned, combats piracy, and benefits the music industry. Would you contact me?

I currently Airplay Deezer to my Bluesound Node, or use BlueOS. Can I control the Node with Deezer Connect? @Yula

Yes!  Been waiting for this!  Hopefully this means support from BlueSound for their nodes soon?  I would love to switch back to Deezer from Tidal, but really like the Connect feature for my BlueSound Node.

I was really excited to see this announced… Then realized it isn’t anything remotely close to Spotify Connect. You can’t control playback on Sonos, HomePods or Google Nest Speakers. So it’s basically a remote to control another phone or what’s playing on your computer (In theory). Only it eats battery like crazy on the device you activate it from and so far doesn't work when trying to control the Deezer app on my iMac or MacBook Air. So far all I can do with this is control my android phone with my iPhone but not vice versa. It worked a time or two with the AppleWatch app but then stopped so it’s not reliable. What an underwhelming release...

One more annoyance. If you have music playing (iOS or Android) and are Casting or Air Playing that music to a speaker (doesn’t matter what type), tapping on Deezer Connect instantly disconnects ChromeCast or Airplay. So far this feels like it shouldn’t even be in beta testing yet and you just pushed the release to let the masses do all the work and troubleshooting. Going back to Spotify is starting to seem like the path I’ll take very soon. 

Can’t see the point of this. Saw it was called “connect” and thought “aha - they’ve provided functionality like Spotify connect” - but actually they haven’t. I can’t see what benefit it is to me at all.

I have a Pioneer streamer which has native Deezer connectivity, but I still can’t use the app on my phone to hand off to my streamer, or even control it in any way - pointless, unless I’m missing something?

Does not "see" any volumio RPI devices.

For five years, the Deezer community has been asking for a Spotify Connect feature, and this is what they get???

I have version 7.0.17.42 on my android phone, and the same version on Amazon Fire TV 4k stick.

I want to control music played on the TV from my android phone, but deezer connect on android does not find any device. Both devices are connected to the same WIFI network.

How to fix?

Nothing is broken, nothing to fix. Deezer Connect simply does not connect to anything usefull. (But they are working on it, LOL)

Once it’s working for Sonos like on Spotify and Tidal, then I’ll be interested. Hope it’s soon…

The competition already defined what “Connect” embodies - the ability to controll other devices - and Deezer Connect doesnt even find any of my 5 or so devices that Tidal Connect and Spotify Connect do. 

I am thoroughly dissappointed, and feel a little bit fooled to resubscribe.

I was so happy to read this post only to find out that it is only possible to connect between native Deezer apps (if any). It will take another year for this to reach the public API for device manufacturers to integrate, but I don't have that much patience. Deezer was the first streaming service to arrive in Chile and since 2007 I have remained faithful, but enough is enough, so now I am enjoying my 30-day free trial on Tidal, taking control of my Bluesound Node. I thought I was going to miss the Flow more but I am really enjoying it.

Could you please specify when the Deezer Connect functionality will control Sonos natively. So as a real control but played from (and not streamed to) Sonos. This shouldn’t take too long as Spotify has already shown how this works.

Could you please share the planning?

This is poor, very poor. Can I control Sonos? No. Any other speakers? No.

What is the point? I can control output on another phone. Sorry, what?

Have been a deezer user for years but this lack of functionality is beyond a joke at this stage.
