Hi all,

We wish to collect some of your feedback on Flow, that's why we are opening a new dedicated thread for you to share your feelings on this feature.

Do you like it? Why? What do you think we are missing?

Please be as detailed as you can in your comments, cheers!

I was also at first disappointed with the recommendations, but you need to learn Flow.  Play play play, everything you love and give hearts to your favorite songs and playlists and albums, add as many of your favorite artists and play play play and ban artists you don't like and Flow will soon catch your note.  I am very satisfied.  But you have to make friends and devote time to it.

Yes, indeed. Let it learn.

On first day lame, now it is much better than Google’s Feeling lucky which was okay, but always played same favourites over and over and over again. On Deezer I hear new tracks, new favorites, old classics over and over and over again. Today I paid ONE YEAR in advance for this great service.

Pay 10 months and get 12 months is their annual discount. I paid years for Spottily and then GPM receiving no discounts for loyalty. This is my new home for hard dance music since 29.06.20.

They gave me option to keep 2 months I already had trial. They suggested next time I need to cancel with them, go free, and buy annual again with discounted prices unless they give better ways.

I like flow, I like mixes, this service is good bargain at 99,90 a year for this amazing quality.

It works like a charm when something is great.

This is great, worth to pay.

I pretty much only listen to Flow now, takes a while (months) to get to know you but once it does its almost brilliant.

Only downsides:-

 - sometimes plays the same song (sometimes even one after the other) as that song is on multiple albums

 - “Don’t reccomend this artist” missing for some atrists (noticibly the Beatles)

 - Daren’t listen to a track to see what it’s like, it will return to my flow for eternity.

 - Just because I “liked” the human league does not mean that I want to listen to “Bronski Beats” “Smalltown boy” twice a day!

Would love to be able to :-

 - exclude Live and Compilation albums.

 - Have some kind of “mood” option would be nice, same flow but with emphasis on rock/regge/80’s depending on my mood

Is that available in the Windows app, I don’t see it.   If I click the Flow Icon it just pauses or Plays

Hey @nipsy

Flow Moods is currently only available for smartphone apps. However, for desktop/web version there is an idea where you can vote:

I’m a very new user who imported likes over from a competitor. So far, Flow seems cool. I would like more of a mood option, and I listen primarily on a PC. So I’ll be voting for that feature.

I would like more for Flow to take over after an album is over, and for the genre / tempo / tonality of the album to influence the mood of Flow; so far, the pools of album radio seem rather shallow, and include tracks from the album I ust listened to too frequently.

I'm about to give up on flow completely. I have a bunch of artists liked, mostly rock and pop (American)... Today flow has decided that I listen to nothing but Spanish language /Latino music. No matter how many songs I dislike or skip, that's ALL it plays.

I'm loving flow so much. It's given me lots of new artists to listen to. One thing I would like is to be able to restrict by genre. So Flow Metal, Flow EDM, or Flow Hip Hop for example. It would be ready nice for days where I feel like something different.

Hi there, recent convert from another platform. Pretty sure flow is badly broken...

I really like the flow concept a lot and for the first few days it seemed great, it took my suggestions and built something good. Bit heavy on the AC/DC, but who doesn’t like a bit of AC/DC … :grinning:

Then at some point about a week ago it went into “Synthwave”. I like and have favourited about four synthwave bands, out of (so far) 117 artists I’ve got favourited. And now it won’t play anything else. No matter how many times I say “Don’t recommend this artist” or skip the track, it just finds ever more obscure synthwave bands to throw at me. This has been going on for about a week.

I’ve tried adding more artists, albums and tracks to my favourites and nothing much is happening. I have now hit “don’t recommend this artist” on so many synthwave acts that flow now often errors out and takes me back to the default playlist starting with that Elton John/Dua Lipa track.

Is it wrong to expect to go straight into Flow?

Lately (since start 2022) Flow is sh*t.

I listen mostly to rock/metal, also in my own language (dutch)

But now flow is giving Folk singers, Apres ski music, rappers and even childrens songs just because “they are Dutch”.

I have been clicking on “do not recommend artist” about 2 times a day for a month now.

As others are saying here, the shift in moods and genres is too random and wild. My flow will shift from soul coughing to limp bizkit to dave matthews band to system of a down to midnight oil. I know because it did that to me today. It makes it impossible to get into a groove as it keeps jerking my attention away from what I’m doing.

What bothers me most is that it plays too much of my songs marked as favorites. For that I can play just that. Flow should learn from genres, authors that I listen. And then play something similar. Maybe it would be good to have some settings, like: check if you would like that flow play your favorite songs, check if you want to hear only songs that you haven't played yet ... I know, that perhaps most of listeners like only to hear songs that they already now. I would like to find what I've been missing. What is good out there (in my taste) but haven't heard it.

Thank you for asking. Hope to see some changes.

Maybe a slider in the settings to choose the ratio favourite - new songs. For example: if you want 30% of all songs in Flow to be your favourites and 70% new discoveries, move the slider to 30%.

Utterly useless.  I liked two K-pop songs, flow is now 100%, no exception, K-pop.  Disliked every artist.  Favorited actual music that I like.  No change.

I don’t like flow that much. Too much music I don’t like, too much the list hits, too much jumping back and forth with my favourite band and some different style.

Two fixes:

  • Show ‘up next’ songs instead of hiding what’s coming up. I care more about what’s going to play that what has already played.
  • Allow ‘add to queue’ and ‘play next’ at any moment no matter how the music started (single song, playlist, album, flow, mix, radio whatever).

It’s far too repetitive, there needs to be an option “Do repeat tracks for 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year” I’ve created a smart playlist on Musicbee which easily does this, and more (play count and rating considered), so when I get feed up of Deezer repeating itself I go back to playing Musicbee when I’m using my desktop at home in the car Deezer just gets switched of.

Long ago I tried to use it. But since I don’t really like apps fishing for my data, I don't use it much.

I want to explore new music and I don't want AI to pick always the same kind of music for me.

Flow 2.0 was working very well for me, I good upgrade in my opinion. Now back to the old Flow and I notice more repeats, something I wish I could control in both Flow and as well my other playlists.

Thanks @BigFKahuna we’ve gathered all the feedback from users and our devs are discussing future improvements for Flow.
In the meantime, I’ve heard from other users that “Mixes inspired by” is working really well as an alternative to Flow; very accurate and with less repeats.
Thanks

Same here just give an option to disable that silly mood thing. I listen to metal so my mood is always dark and not funny and flow now playing ******g schlagers and après ski crap

For some reaon Flow has just started choosing only Ska/Regge.  Which don’t get me wrong is my favourite Genre , but it used to pay a mix.

Hello @nipsy, please try listening to Mix based by artists from different genres, playlists,

going back to Flow and skipping some raggae songs, it will fix itself and propose different music!

A tad ridiculous :)  but I will give it a go

FLOW is an Awesome feature and works ok for me.

I would love to see one simple thing to make Flow easier to interact with.

Please allow users to either (Right click) on flow to Ban the song or let us simply Hover over the Flow button and then Left click on the options listed.

For me 99% of all songs are Disliked regardless of the streaming service.

I want an efficient way to get to the music I Love!

Flow works pretty well, except for one huge problem that seems to have existed for 4+ years… How do I get it to stop playing Christmas music?

I have never “liked” or “hearted” any Christmas songs, I have created 2 playlists, for Chriistmas Songs and play all of my Christmas music from them. I have tried every other workaround that has been suggested in the various posts regarding this issue and nothing works.

I would like to continue using flow to discover new music, but not if it's going to keep giving me Christmas music.

I like FLOW, but it needs to improve the choice of random track selections. It seems like when it’s confused it will default go to my favorite tracks, but isn’t the whole point of FLOW to be kind of a instant radio mix of the style of music.
