Error: failed to play. The requested content is not loading

I keep getting this error pop up, not sure how to fix it. I've tried a few things
Remove SD card, uninstall Deezer, clean phone cache, restart phone, reinstall deezer. Same error pops up straight away again. I only started noticing this error recently.

I have an Lg g6

I think I have found how to fix this. Currently still working it out but iyou need to expand your smart cache if your deezer data is the same as your limit it can't cache any songs which causes it to start and stop error..... working so far only just changed my settings.

If you need any trouble shooters Deezer I would like a job 😄😜👊

Srry to break it to you but here is he truth: Deezer doesn't know why this is happening and they haven't done anything about it for months now. They are just hoping it won't happen to enough ppl so they can continue to do nothing about it. I am unfortunately a victim of this error as well and their troubleshoot guide is unsatisfactory at best and criminal at worst. They are more or less scamming their users by doing nothing about this. I hope to see Deezer go out of business soon as they've demonstrated sheer incompetence and disregard for their customers. Your only solution forward is to leave the service and find something else because they will not even bother to try to solve this for you.

same issue on Samsung S7 with Android 8.0.0, Deezer 6.0.5.271. I tried deleting cache, removing SD card, restart, reinstall app. After a while the message appears again.

Hi @ro4pvb1c

Sorry about that. Our developers are investigating this for a while now. I'll come back here if I get an update.
But in the meantime, please follow the troubleshooting steps you tried before, but in the same order just to ensure we tried everything. I'd also log out and download our latest version of the app to see if it helps.

Hi,

I'm having the same problem on my android phone. I've already tried all the proposed solutions (restart, remove sd-card, reinstall,...) and still nothing.
Deezer Family subscription and the problem is only on my phone, even when I change profile. Both with downloaded and steamed content.
Any way to fix this that isn't on this forum yet?
Many thanks!

@TVC

There are specific issues affecting only Huawei phones, as this topic shows - your phone could be experiencing this. We're working on them and will keep everyone updated. I know it's not much but you already tried most available workarounds.

This happened to me too. I couldn't download anything so I tried the prices described in the above link. It seems to have worked but I lost all of my downloaded albums and favourites. If it happens again I'll switch to Spotify!

Hi there @rory

Could you try the following steps, exactly in this order, to see if it helps with your issue?

  • make sure you're connected to a wifi network
  • uninstall Deezer
  • clean your phone's cache
  • remove the SD card
  • turn off your phone
  • reinstall Deezer
  • open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
  • reinsert the SD card

Hi @Tineke

sorry to be a pain, can you do this:-

Please do the following in the exact order:-
make sure you're connected to a wifi network
log out of Deezer
uninstall Deezer
clean your phone's cache
remove the SD card (if you have one)
turn off your phone
turn on your phone
reinstall Deezer
Log in to Deezer
open Deezer and download at least one album or playlist
reinsert the SD card (if you have one)

I know you've done most of the steps before but would you try again doing the above, it must be in this exact order..

Let us know how you get on.

Same issue. Xiaomi phone. And this is why I'm moving to Spotify.

Just started getting this error with the latest version.  Error: Failed to play.  The requested content is not loading.

I’ve followed all the steps to try to resolve the error but it happens on every song play.  Very annoying, I’ll wait to see if a new app version comes in the next short while to resolve it, otherwise will go to stick to Tidal.  Or new Amazon HD?

Hey @Michael.Schmidt sorry about that :/ Can you please tell me on what device/model/OS version this happens?

Google Pixel 3XL with Android 10.  But after I posted this, I enabled “join beta” and a new version of Deezer was installed (has beta on the icon) and the problem has gone away.  So I’ll stick with the beta and see how that goes and if the error returns, will repost.

Thanks
