Thank you both @santama @SikoSoft

You both have made interesting points. The reason for 2021 is that because it's on the plans, but it's too early to know when an update will be worked on and completed.

Our Google Home/Assistant has personal playlists enabled, so the idea is to align Alexa too - there's no need to limit the integration either.

Then, because we're working on a new one, it should afford more features as it'll use the latest specs from Amazon. So please hang in there, keep an eye on the community and bear with me, I'll be feeding all of us more news as they come :thumbsup_tone2:

Hi there, unfortunately we do not have a specific date, but it will come very very soon 😉

yo, i know you said very soon. but it’s been 3 years though.

It came @Seba inostroza but it hasn't worked properly. So now we're invested to redo the skill, from scratch. Stay tuned this year, it'll be worth it! :relaxed:

Hey @Rudi it seems this hasn’t been solved – yet. I’ve been Deezer user for years, Alexa user for years and I love the integration but am missing two really important features:

  • playlist shuffle (not supported)
  • support for playing premium users (your own) playlists

I know that this is an issue, but it would be really great if you (Deezer dev team) could commit to a date. I feel that “during 2021” is not good enough since this topic is open for the past two years. Can Deezer commit to a date when we can expect this to be solved?

Thanks,
Emanuel

Hey Emanuel @emanuelblagonic

We can certainly commit to a date, in general, but we've done that in the past and due to technical problems we couldn't stick to it. Not all users understand the frustration as you may do, that's why it's hard in a tech environment.

BUT it's been done as we speak, and without committing to a release date because we haven't got one yet, I expect to have more info about this in the next couple of months. I will keep the community posted!

As I've mentioned here, we're working on a completely new skill and I personally have an Echo at home, eager to play my own personal playlists  thank you for your support and feedback!

Being a developer myself (though in completely different department) I understand this, but from what I’ve seen in this thread — that is now more than 2 years old — is that this Alexa support is not very high up in your development priorities :(. That being said, if developers cannot commit to a date then there will certainly be no will to do this in a timely manner.

I certainly don’t want to push it, but we are talking about a request that’s two years old. For a major platform that’s getting more gain every day, especially now in a pandemic where people work from home (and they want to listen music on a device, rather than on their computers; me included).

Anyways, from my perspective the priority should be as follows:

  1. Option to shuffle a playlist currently playing (this should be a top priority since we’re talking about something that should be a standard, as it doesn’t make sense to always play the same songs in the same order – that’s dull)
  2. Possibility to play own playlists

Is there a way to get the first thing done in a timely manner? Can you check with the development team?

Thanks

I totally agree with you @emanuelblagonic

And both points will certainly become part of our new integration. Perhaps yes, it wasn't high on the priorities but it is for this year, as we're investing hard in connectivity. The ability to play personal playlists was supposed to work as well, but it is uncertain where things went wrong.

So as a community manager I expect this development to take a few months. I hope to have a better timeframe for this in the next couple of months (like I mentioned above) so please stay tuned! As you can imagine, priorities in a tech company can shift very quickly. But I'm here to fill in the gaps and keep everyone updated.

I'm one more adding my voice to the cause,..

Thank you @HopheadHank

We'll keep on working on this - can't wait to share more details with the community!

This is a functionality that takes a few days to implement. And it's crucial for many users as we got echos in our homes.

Old users know that at least the favorite songs list used to work but you removed even this feature.

My guess is deezer get more payback for flow than for custom playlists.

You're really annoying and losing your customers

Sorry you feel that way @Larsen Locke

But we're developing a new skill, from scratch. Once I've got more updates, I'll be sharing them with the community.

Take good care!

Sincerely hope you can make it within the next three months. It’s gonna be a decisive factor for me to decide whether to stay after my trial period.

So far I’m very happy with everthing, but this is quite a big flaw and if not solved would make it useless to be a premium subscriber, at least for me.

Hey @Soloist

Totally get you, I've got an Echo at home as well.

I'm positive about the 3 months you've given Deezer, so I'll keep you posted!

I’m glad to see this is being worked on, and that other users want it as well.  I’m a little concerned about the “hopefully” bit :) ….it is pretty essential I think.

To address the questions by SikoSoft, there is no workaround I am aware of other than using the app.  I have found though that My Flow actually really works well, and is the reason I became a premium member (along with being able to upload your own songs to a private play list). It does take time though to learn what you like, but for me has been an invaluable way to discover new music.

Hopefully there is an update soon.

That’s not ideal, but one thing that could be done is to connect the iPhone to echo dot by using Bluetooth, so you could use the Deezer app in iPhone in order to play your own playlists. That works for me until the Alexa skill can’t do that by it self.

Yeah, thought about that, but that has two major drawbacks which make it a no go for me:

  • must keep the phone always in range
  • can’t play music on multiple devices using a group

You're right @Soloist it's just a workaround for the time being. But we're working on a new skill for Alexa, so hang in there a bit longer and your experience with Deezer will improve a lot! :relaxed:

Can you update Deezer so that it will link with Alexa so I can play my playlists & music of my choice
It will only play one flow playlist
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.amazon.dee.app

& Can you add Deezer to the firmware of kitsound KS one speaker so I can play directly with the kitsound app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wifiaudio.Kitsound
https://kitsound.co.uk/category/speakers/bluetooth_speakers#

You've got to keep up with connectivity otherwise we will switch you streaming services that do connect

Yes, that’s the priority for this year @Percussionman, along with reliability.

About Alexa, we’re working on a new skill for it, just stay tuned. For Kitsound, have a look around the community to see if there’s an existing topic about it so that you can contribute with your feedback (perhaps a vote if the topic is in the feature requests section).

Thank you for your support!

Another drawback for me is that sometimes MyFlow picks a really great song, and I want to ask “What song is this?”  Unfortunately just being connected through bluetooth means Alexa knows nothing about what is actually playing, so it has no answer.

Hopefully this comes soon!

I have just started the 3 x month trial of Deezer and discover that I cannot play my Playlists via Alexa.

Reading this thread, I see that this has been ongoing for over 2 x years! So it appears that this won’t happen anytime soon.  I won’t be extending my use of Deezer once the trial period is complete.

This still isn't fixed and not really good enough

Hey @Peter Stocks

Thanks for the feedback, sorry to hear about that.

@corey please bear in mind that we're actually developing a new skill, from scratch, as I've explained above. Once we've got it up and running (hopefully soon), you'll enjoy a better Alexa experience :relaxed:

Thank you for your support so far!

Thanks @Rudi That will make a big difference.

I've got an Echo at home myself, I can't wait for a new Deezer skill @Peter Stocks

Thanks for your support!

Still positive about that? 2,5 months have passed already and still no news about it.
