Is there a time frame for Deezer HIFI Heos support?

Rudi 3 years ago

Hey @SevenOf1

I completely get where you're coming from. I've been here with our community users and this is a subject I take a lot of ownership of.

I've been discussing the integration with our developers who have been in touch with HEOS to get this off the ground. I can assure you, we're now working to get this sorted.

It's a two-way project, but HEOS is getting all the support from us on the integration. I hope to have more exciting news at the beginning of 2021, so please stay tuned :v_tone2:

Sadly I had to leave Deezer as well as there was no solution to play hifi music on my heos speakers. I moved to Tidal and speakers work great with the hifi sound.

Same. Tidal is great. This will also be my final contribution here as I no longer have a subscription. Too bad...

it’s been years we wait for this upgrade. Really sad and poor attention from Denon/Deezer

I would not trust it too much, it should have been out on beginning of 2021, we’re beginning of 2023 and we have no clue. I am afraid the project could be dead.

Completely agree, it is a shame that nobody from Deezer comes back with an update for so many months.

@Deezer support team,

Any plan on solving the issue or company is glad to lose customers in favor of competition?

...i'm next in line as Heos device is on it's way.

Regards,

I just got a Marantz Cinema 70s receiver. I was surprised to see that HEOS doesn’t support Deezer Hi-Fi. Yamaha MusicCast does. Both use what we used to call DLNA. I know that Deezer is only 3% of the streaming market, but Denon and Deezer need to get this over the finish line. Until then, I will use a Chromecast device to get lossless audio to my home receiver.

Sorry about it, but as we said before, it's a two-way project, but HEOS is getting all the support from us on the integration. As soon as we get more updates on it, we will let you know. 🙏🏽

Take care.

@DeezerHi I just installed a DENON PMA900HNE yesterday. After seeing the 320kb on the HEOS display I tried fixing it through all the settings before ending up in the thread here. Sad to see this has been such a longstanding problem.

Now I've seen mentioned something about using a desktop/laptop to get Deezer FLAC quality to my sound system. Can you explain me step-by-step how to get this to work? The prefered goal is as follows:

  • On my laptop I have Deezer open in a browser window.
  • My DENON is playing the sound in FLAC quality.

Sending the music from my laptop to the DENON over bluetooth would presumably ruin the quality. I'd prefer not to have a cable from my (non-stationary) laptop across my floor to the DENON.

Is this a realistic goal right now? If not I'm forced to cancel Deezer and switch over to Tidal.

Identical hifi problem with audiolab 6000n.  Do any of you know what a Streamer costing 500 euros that works with deezer hifi is today?  Thank you

I went from Spotify to Deezer mostly because of what I read about Deezer's High Quality audio and now ... MP3 only on my Marantz AVR through HEOS. 🤮

I am going to check Spotify and Tidal to see if I can get with one of them the audio quality I want.

For this reason I went from Deezer to Tidal.

I have been using Deezer for a while with hi-fi quality. Now that I have Denon stereo receiver with Heos it's obviously not working.

Why would I pay for something that I cannot use?

And obviously Deezer team have no interest in fixing this!

I still love Deezer interface more than Tidal but quality of music is more important to me.

I will not support company that is incapable or does not want to fix simple thing such as is hi-fi format, flac support.

Apparently they have no interest in fixing this.

So goodbye Deezer. I cannot recommend Deezer anymore.

@Rudi @Jaime. @Johnathan.Deezer

It's been over two years now, and as a Deezer subscriber for the past decade and a recent owner of the Denon AVC-X3800H, I must express my disappointment after reading and seeing this update.

Marantz and Denon, both utilizing the Heos app and representing a significant portion of the AVR/AVC Receivers market, typically appeal to audiophiles, many of whom opt for the HIFI subscription. Not having support for this feature is a genuine letdown and has me considering a switch to one of the other services; perhaps the recently announced Spotify HIFI or Tidal.

Any news or updates on this matter would be highly appreciated!

A two way project?!?

When I got the new design, I really got angry and posted the following app rating because we are all waiting far too long while you have visibly different priorities.

Instead of working on customer oriented improvements to implement long expected features like Deezer Hifi for HEOS devices you spend the money earned from us on a really ugly new app logo and design?!?

This is unbelievable bad, not only color and icon wise, you really risk the friendship of your paying user community!

ZERO stars would be too high, this development and design deserve MINUS 5 stars!!!

We should not have to discuss this again and vote for a new idea, Deezer just needs do what they promised and implement the feature.

Another 8 months without any update, but at least Jonathan confirmed the two-way project existing somehow at that point in time …

Got a response today from Denon:

Thank you for taking the time to send us valuable feedback regarding Deezer Hi-Fi streaming through HEOS, we value all feedback we gain from customers and this information will be passed onto the relevant department to help improve on our service and products.

There is currently no plans on adding Deezer Hi-Fi support in the near future.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Okay, so Deezer tells a different story than HEOS tells. That doesn't really make us any wiser. Who is keeping the door closed? Denon/HEOS? If Deezer is willing, but Denon/HEOS is not (for whatever reason), then it's not going to happen. I really would like to know the exact reason.

There’s nothing Deezer can do about it. It is Denon that has to integrate Deezer HiFi in their product.

When HEOS announced a major app update in December 2023, I thought this was it. I am so glad to see so many Deezer customers have been waiting for years for this. I will reach out to Denon. I find it inexcusable that a DLNA based platform like HEOS doesn’t yet support this. Meanwhile Yamaha MusicCast, a very similar platform, has Deezer Hi-Fi support. Same with BluOS, a superior platform available on Bluesound and NAD amplifiers.
