Hey, Robban
Thanks for asking. Progress, yes.
But it's too early for more details to be disclosed. Work is being done and doesn't depend on us at the moment.
As soon as I hear more, I'll be coming back here
Had to cancel my HiFi subscription and give up on Deezer as well due to this. What is the point of HiFi subscription if we cannot use it with the equipment designed for HiFi listening?
Hopefully you guys sort this out before Spotify releases HiFi support which they announced. I imagine they will be smart enough to ensure integration with HEOS devices to begin with.
As a software engineer i find it outright unbelievable that this feature takes more than 3 days to complete, and i am being grateful here. How hard can it be to check if a user has active HiFi subscription and if so play FLAC otherwise use mp3 ? There is already HEOS-Deezer integration, not like everything has to be done from scratch.
Even the option where you directly cast to Heos devices should not possibly take more than a couple of days…
We cannot even get an ETA for this, really unbelievable.
Hey
Sorry to see you go.
You'll see that in Tech, giving a timeline is already difficult, let alone when it's a partnership and there are 2 brands involved.
We know that HEOS is working on sorting this out and our developers are collaborating with anything that's required from them. Please register your support for this integration with HEOS as well. Development is on their side so they might be able to give you a rough estimate
Thank you for your understanding!
Just signed up for the HIFI account, and it’s not working with HEOS. MP3 only. So I guess I’ll be streaming elsewhere! :(
Hey
Thanks for reporting here.
As you can see from my replies in this thread, HEOS is working with us to enable this
I am in the same situation. Hoping this hifi feature will be available on HEOS soon.
Is there a time frame for Deezer HIFI Heos support?
Not sure about Bose because we haven't had reports of it - however, we're working on our public API so that it supports HiFi for our integrations, in the future.
But for HEOS, we're waiting to see if they can develop this part for their app
Add me to the list of people needing hifi to be playable on heos.
I have my whole house set up with a variety of the Denon wifi speakers.....
Have used Tidal for a year now but is very expensive in Australia..... Was looking at alternatives... Amazon HD is not available here which is frustrating. But I have heard online that Deezer uses good sounding original recording that sound as good as Tidal so was wanting to give them a go (MQA is wasted on me with me as I don't really have anything that uses it to justify the extra subscription price) Tidal also has some artists not available in my region that is available.on others. (Very frustrating)
Very disappointed to discover after activating my free trial of Deezer that it was streaming in MP3 only.... Cancelled straight away and will only use until the free period lasts.
Hopefully of this changes in the very near future I may change my mind.
But not at this stage unfortunately.
Hopefully you can help me, I could not find an answer in the faq.
I have a subscription to Deezer HiFi.
I have a Marantz NA6006 network player and I stream to my audio system with Heos.
In Heos I have set my streamer for high quality (I can choose between normal and high).
The Marantz supports FLAC. Still I see that I am streaming Mp3 with 320k.
I don't understand this, what do I have to do to stream with FLAC.
Thanks in advance
Nico
Hey
Please subscribe to this topic so that you get a notification for when I update it, hopefully with good news!
Hi, Nico
So Tidal has now also added a new tier of subscription for Hifi separates not (does not include their "masters" MQA) for the same monthly price of $17.99 AUD as Deezer. Their goes any price reason to keep waiting for Deezer. Since for the same price Tidal already works with HEOS.
So what now?
Dear All! I am new here, and would like to share with all Marantz and Denon users my experience of listening Deezer HiFi subscription in 16/44.1 (redbook) quality at home. I will not blame anybody here, I have read all the history, and can confirm only, that till now (28.04.2021) HEOS app, does not stream Deezer HiFi in lossless format to my Marantz PM7000n, at least it shows me “mp3 320 k.bit” in the app, when playing Deezer through the app, having HiFi subscription.
So, how to solve this issue and get to down sampled music streamed wirelessly to you home stereo setup? Here we currently have two options, and I have used them both with pleasure:
- For those who have relatively new models of Denon and Marantz items and IPhone or IPad, which support the Airplay 2 protocol via home wi-fi network - simply use this! Exactly 2nd version of Airplay protocol sends the audio via wi-fi to your devices without down sampling (it only converts flac to alac format of the data stream), so your device DAC will get if properly. I got only one problem here: IPhone cannot find my Marantz PM7000n via wi-fi connection due to poor home modem/router (many user face such issue around the world) but it works ideally if you connect your device to LAN with cable! Please check this out!
- Send solution is for those who are happy owners of Xbox One, One S, One X etc. whith optical (tosllink) digital audio out. You can install on your Xbox a relatively cheap app “Airserver” which support Airplay 2 protocol. You need to have Iphone or Ipad, so you can stream you music to Xbox (it receives it, and up sample it to 16/48 only). Than you need to select audio output option of Xbox “stereo pcm” and send it via toslink to external DAC or to you device if it has optical in.
Both option were perfectly fine to me. Moreover, I tried to play Deezer tracks in Heos app. and realized that the app itself is uncomfortable to use, so I do not like it at all, and therefore I do not wait for HiFi support there at all.
Cheers to all, and happy listening! Take cheap used Xbox, and be happy with a very useful media device, for many purposes, like video, audio, network, gaming, even CD playing ;-)
Registering my interest in this as well. Currently waiting for HEOS Hi-Fi integration with my Denon before purchasing the Hi-Fi subscription of Deezer.
Hopefully it'll come before Spotify release their hi-fi mode. I don't really have any loyalty to either platform, just whichever is quickest to release and outputs the highest quality audio.
Thanks for the feedback
And also, thank you for sharing your experience here with us
Apple promises to launch hifi music streaming in Apple Music app soon.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.macrumors.com/2021/05/01/ios-14-6-beta-6-hifi-apple-music/amp/
Just signed up for Deezer HiFi as a cheaper alternative to Tidal for use with my Denon home cinema receiver and very disappointed to see the quality limited to MP3 320Kbps.
Also very disappointed to see this thread dragging on for a year with no resolution.
I'm going to cancel my subscription. For my use case, there's no benefit to me over using Spotify until HEOS streaming is supported at the advertised HiFi / Lossless bitrates.
What the industry needs is a platform similar to Spotify Connect which allows other streaming services like Tidal or Deezer to select the target playback device from right within the app itself rather than relying on third party integration from the likes of HEOS.
While Spotify is limited to 320Kbps the usability and integration of the platform just puts the competition to shame. Here's hoping Spotify roll out HiFi streaming soon.

If you have Xbox One (S, at home, you should try to stream it through Xbox AirServer application, this will make possible to disable all wifi and network connections in your amp, and you’ll get straight full analog mode from toslink connection, and will keep deezer hifi as cheap service.

Thank you for your suggestion but the reason I purchased a Denon amp with HEOS support was to enable streaming support right at source without involving any third party devices like an xBox, PC, or Playstation (which all generate their own noise, consume their own electricity, and introduce processing losses in the signal path).
My use case is HEOS.
As Spotify Connect offers the most user friendly experience with no loss of quality compared with Deezer via my receiver’s integrated streaming support, I will stick with that.
When Deezer have enabled HiFi support via HEOS I will re-subscribe to HiFi, on a long term / permanent basis.
I’ll watch this thread with baited breath.

Hello Yuriy,
I have Marantz NA6006 streamer and I’m not able to do as you descibed in step 1.
When I start Deezer app on my iPad Pro (2019) and click on Cast to icon I don’t see my Marantz device? Is there some incompatibility with my NA6006 device or..?
Thanks!

Misa

Dear Misa, if your ipad and maranatz already connected to the same network (and this is not the case of trouble) that I think you may be press the wrong button in deezer… in deezer there are two different buttons: one is in the top right conner - is for google cast (there you will not find your marantz as it does not support google cast at all) second button is in the bottom left conner: it is for establishing an Airplay connection..
But, in case you press the right one (bottom left) and you don’t see your marantz, than problem can be in the wifi router (try to connect marantz to your router by cable, and look for it once again in deezer.

Yes, you’re right, you can see only in deezer the hifi mark on the label and trust to Apple that data flow in Airplay is 16/44.1 as they stated. By the way today I have tested second marantz device, actually it was na6006, and have noticed that second device has the same problem with streaming deezer hifi via Airplay to marantz (if to stream the “pink noise” from Stereo Test: Speaker setup album, I hear interruptions in the music flow… and that is consistently in any track streamed to Marantz from Deezer hifi via Airplay((( So I had to stream to my Xbox One S (it receives the stream without interruptions) and then send it via toslink to marantz. I thought that it was only my device problem (7000n) but today i got the same on second device. I recommend you to check it too on yours..
Subscribing to this thread. It is disappointing to take so long. It’s not like Deezer hi-fi is a recent addition.
Amazon music HD sounds absolutely brilliant on my SR6013 using Heos. But I do love the Deezer interface and Flow.
Maybe I’ll have to go with both…
Hey
Thanks for the feedback, duly noted.
Please make sure to report the same comments to HEOS, it's the development of their app in cause here - thank you
