I'm finding the Deezer "Plug in" to my Sonos ap difficult to use. I don't appear to be able to find new things and play them from there. I also can't find them in the normal Deezer app and "send" them to sonos. I have to find them in Deezer, set them as favourite, then go in to Sonos to play them. This is unwieldly. It also appears that you can not mark a "Mix" as a favourite meaning I can't play a mix through my Sonos. Any help available??

We completely understand why this feature would be beneficial to you and our platform, we agree with you. We'll work on it, but for now, it isn't a priority.

Nevertheless, I've also mentioned above that we're working on a new integration with Sonos specifically. Stay tuned as, one way or another, we'll tackle this shortcoming for you :v_tone2:


How can we get this prioritized?  This thread has been going for 2 years.  This is the single feature keeping me from subscribing to Deezer.

This is a deal breaker for me as well. I just subscribed to deezer family to try out the service.

Playing music from deezer in the crappy sonos app is simply a non-sense. Not being able to switch deezer account in the sonos app doesn’t even make sense.

I guess, like some others, I’ll have to switch back to  your competitor. I might try your service again when you’ll provide a fix. Since this bug was open in 2017, I guess I’ll get back around 2023.

Shame since I trully think your service and business model is far better thant the others.


Wow.  I have just unsubscribed from Spotify to join Deezer, with a free trial.  I was recommended Deezer by a friend.  I use a Sonos system at work, in a bottle shop.  I will not be getting a premium account until this issue is resolved.  I simply don’t have time to fiddle around with the apps while also talking to paying customers and trying to do my job.  Also, if I play an Otis Redding album, I do not expect the tracks that follow to be modern chart music that my customers will hate, as will I.  I actually find it incomprehensible that I have read this whole thread without any clear indication of what is actually going on.

The feature to cast to a Sonos device through the Deezer app is a big project and won't be exclusive to Sonos - we're looking to develop this function here and it takes quite a long time to develop. Please subscribe to the topic so that you're updated with our progress.

About switching accounts, if you mean profiles for the Deezer Family, that's already possible. Have a look here for more info :v_tone2:

We're working on improving our public API too, so when the Sonos app uses our service, there will be more options and features. I hope all get developed soon enough so that we can have you enjoying Deezer for longer :thumbsup_tone2:


@Rudi I read your response to @WaZz and I’m not following.  The function of controlling any device from another device seems very complicated, and I understand the long development time.  On the surface, the ability to cast to smart speakers does not seem very complicated.  Are you saying that it is? Or only that it is because you’re combining this with the functionality hereI hope that you can decouple those features and get the simpler “cast to smart speaker” feature out quicker, and this is why I’m hesitant to upvote the other feature.  I hope you can clarify whether there is another, quicker path for this.

It looks like Youtube Music will be releasing this function very soon.  Deezer is such a great app in so many ways, but I’ll be stuck with Youtube Music until Deezer can catch up here.

Thanks for asking.

The ability to cast to different speakers depends on the ability of the app to understand different protocols like DLNA or UPnP, for example. Deezer currently only have one casting option in Chromecast. To answer it simpler, yes, we're trying to combine with the functionality you mentioned above - the development will take a long time but it'll pay off because it'll help a majority of users.

We really want that feature, but we need to sort out some priorities first (like our favourites' limits, for instance), together with fixing some known bugs. Due to our size, we need a bit more patience from our users comparing to giants in the market, but our dedication and commitment surpass anything in order to improve our service - stay tuned, we need you :thumbsup_tone2:

I am also waiting for a Castbutton to stream directly to my Sonos System. As the Sonos-App must not be used for that this is indeed a very important feature!!!!! I opt-in for the Deezer Beta App, please release that feature soon!

what about Amazon Alexa (on Echo)? 


OK Deezer - I just signed up for the 3 months free HD trial… The clock is ticking. I didn’t even check for this feature - I just assumed it would be there… It isn’t difficult. Sonos and Tidal have had it for years….

 

So - three months clock is ticking - I will cancel without paying anything if this isn’t fixed...

We recently took 2 family accounts, switching them alll from Spotify to Deezer. Only to discover that the Deezer app is unable to stream directly to a Denon receiver or a Sonos speaker. All needs to go through the Denon app or the Sonos app. These apps then kind of replicate the playlists and favorites, but in a very clumsy way. To be clear, this is not an acceptable way to implement this, as all the previous posters also already indicated.  
If this is not solved or without clear commitment from Deezer that this will be solved in a reasonable timeframe, we will switch back to Spotify. What a pity, Deezer has so much going for it, but they need to understand that issues like this are total dealbreakers for most of us.


When do we get the direct link in the Deezer app for Sonos units? Spotify have had this for years now! I’m really thinking about switching to a Spotify subscription, just because of that feature…...how hard can it be,to make that feature 


Same here. I subscribed Deezer for years now. But as there is no progress in getting the posibility to play on Sonos from the Deezer app I’m seriously thinking about switching to Spotify.


Hello, after one (difficult) year there is still no new about this feature, so I have dismissed my yearly subscription.
I’m sorry because I really like Deezer but I’ve just try Spotify and the possibility to cast music easily in any device inside same wi-fi (Sonos speaker, PC, ecc..) with mobile (or desktop) app is so usefull that force me to pass to them..

Agree - there is no progress other than “we are working on it”! This has been going on for years now - really a deal breaker for me - I have been using Deezer for 6 years now - but I strongly consider to change to Spotify just because of the missing feature. I have a 3 months trial on Spotify for free and a plan to switch to Spotify after this - simply tired of waiting for the empty Deezer promises…..


It is the same for me. I subscribed Deezer for at least 5 years now and I can simply not understand why Deezer does not understand that this feature is a key one. As Brian I’m ceriously thinking to switch to Spotify. Free three month plan is running since mid Dec to check out how Spotify feels like and how it works with Sonos. All fine so far. In other works … time will tell. Looking at that thread here i’m not to optimistic.


I also think we need this feature.

Tidal and Spotify have it and nobody wants to use the Sonos app to play Deezer because it is a completely different ecosystem people have to step in.

Currently dribbling between Tidal and Deezer and this is 1 feature that is becoming a deal-breaker for me.


@Rudi When is the release date for the feature you mention you are working on towards the integration to Sonos? I work with software development on a daily basis, so I assume you have a development and release plan for this feature?Are you able to tell something about when this release date is?


I’ve enabled Deezer Labs on the Deezer mobile app hoping to see the feature in some kind of alpha oder beta phase. But nothing there. I guess Deezer is still not working on it.


signing up here to hesitate the importance of this. Trying to convince my family to switch to Deezer, who now has introduced UCPS. (Fed up with paying lots of money to Spotify who only pass peanuts to artists.) But I don’t think I’ll be able to convince them without this feaute in the Deezer app
