I would like the option for the app to actually quit when I close it, and not continue running in the system tray. It is a major annoyance when I close the app and the music keeps playing. As if I were working on a Mac where an application that is closed is never really closed until you force quit it from the dock.
I have seen a few older threads requesting the opposite - that the app minimize/close to the system tray. I can understand how that would be preferable for some, but I prefer to exit apps completely when I quit them and not have to take the additional step of expanding the system tray to quit the application.
Can a setting can be included to let subscribers choose the behavior when closing the app?
Thank you
Thank you for your feedback. I agree that not everyone is happy with the functionality. So I've passed the feedback on and left my contribution here
The only solution is to go to the tray, open all items, then right click and choose Quit.
So please fix this for the next release, it's quite annoying

Hi Rafael
there is an X button, but it doesnât quit the app as it used to do, instead it closes the window, but keeps the app running in tray.
The feature to minimise the app to tray was recently added. But I've already passed this feedback to our devs, hopefully they can look into making it an option. Thank you for your input 😉
Thank you for your feedback. Our devs already took notice of this suggestion, so it's on their hands to add the option. Once we've got an update, this topic will be updated.
since new update 4.15.2 i can't close app by clicking on x, it just minimizes to notification area.
pisses me off. and i can't find any options where to turn it off.
We're already looking into that as an option. But please vote for the idea here
This occurs on multiple windows 10 computers.
Thanks!
Thank you for your support. It isn't a bug, so I've moved your comment here so that you can vote for this to become an option
Also, Deezer thinks this ISN'T a bug? L O L thats literally what the "x" button is for. If we need to minimize the app, we would click the minimize button...
I agree to that. If i click on the close button I want deezer to be entire shut down. I understand that some people like it minimized to the system tray, just make it an option to chose in the settings. That would make everybody happy.
I've been experiencing the same for a while now and like all others I've become increasingly frustrated with the changed and non-intuitive behaviour.
Within Windows the X has served for closing apps for decades so please don't claim the X minimizing the app to the system tray is a FEATURE and that changing that behaviour requires a new product backlog item to be voted up so it becomes a priority item for a next Sprint (didn't mean to raise my voice ;-)
Please make âclosingâ to the system tray a configurable option like launching Deezer on start-up, as has been suggested by multiple people who posted on this forum.
Many thanks in advance from a loyal Deezer customer.
Thank you for all your feedback
We'll pass it on and hopefully, our devs can look into this in the new year
I think it is really weird Deezer keeps saying that devs are looking into this. How difficult can it be? The X is the default thing to click in any Windows program to shut down, but Deezer says no. Let's make it an optionâŚÂ no! Just fix this problem, because the way it is now it doesn't help anyone. I actually stopped using the Windows app and started using the browser againâŚ. where x means quit.
Hey
HeyÂ
Not as easy as it seems to devellop one basic option wich is on, like, all the other software ever made, that can actually have a use in background. Like IDK, playing music âŚÂ
So i donât understand, how adding a simple option is so hard, and why will it need many months.
Fortnite deactivated boobs gigling in one day. adding one activable opt is easy.Â
Â
Thanks for the honest feedback
This is just ridiculous. I too have come here to vent my anger at a default action of Windows being removed by Deezer! Surely you would have had to put hours of development into removing this default feature (or adding a feature to remove a default Windows action), so just reverse it!!
It certainly annoys me and a lot of others. Please rectify this ASAP and developers deciding what I should âlikeâ really annoys me! At least if youâre taking default actions away in the OS, you should give the user to opt-out of that feature you have added. Just to decide that this is whatâs best is an insult. Youâre getting like Apple!!
