@Yula  thanks for the info about no longer developing the Desktop app, now I know to cancel my trial and go with Apple Music.

sorry to see you go. i hear good things about apple music, especially from older folks. best of luck and you are always welcome back at deezer. 🙂

Hi there, any update about this annoying behaviour? Change this approach would take max few hours for junior developer :(

Hello @jirikovoego thanks for your message.

I know that the electro team is working on improvements in the UX but they haven’t revealed what were those improvements.

Regarding the fact that pressing the “X” doesn’t close the app, pretty sure you are aware that you can close the app, by pressing the right button over the Deezer icon and select “Quit Deezer” that will close Deezer.

Fingers cross that another option will be develop to please all our PC users.

Wow. Version 7 has been released. This issue persists for more than five years. Unbelievable.

Amazing that I’m here upvoting a thread from five years ago for a basic problem that still hasn’t been addressed. Please put it back on the table for consideration.

Just installed deezer. Same issue got me to this thread. X button should be shut off. Not move to tray & keep running. Either as opt-in or opt-out.

Just installed the app.

The absence of care for this 5 years old request for a “minify on close” setting toggle is very concerning.

Are there any release notes availables for the last releases of the windows app to assess what to expect as active development for the UX and QoL?

6 years and still no changes on this basic feature?… c’mon guys;;

It’s this kind of crap that actually irritates the f9ck out of users - give us a toggle for ‘Close App’ or ‘Close to Tray’.  This is basic 101 app design.

I shouldn’t have to go to the sys tray and kill the app from there when there’s an ‘X’ available right there at the top of the screen.

Just discovered this annoying feature, Omfg 6 years and still nothing… making me consider other options again

Speaking of other options, Spotify rolled out lossless since I posted above and I’m now moving back to there and dropping Deezer.  The absence of lossless on Spotify was the reason I moved away from it years ago and now that’s sorted Spotify is better than Deezer in pretty much every way.  If you’re planning to move over, I found Soundiiz excellent for getting my music and playlists replicated from Deezer to Spotify.

Also guess what - Spotify gives you the option to ‘close to tray’ or ‘close the app’.  I’d also forgotten how convenient it is to be able to control Spotify from my phone but play it to my PC or streamer. It really is super-slick.

And finally I STILL hate the stupid ‘new’ Deezer logo - it looks like a dating app logo.  The old logo was superb (loved the ‘EQ’ bars) and I actually continued running the older version on Android, never allowing it to update.

Anyway, all that is behind me now as Spotify solves everything.

Tell us you want us to forget it’s running in the background, without telling us you want us to forget it’s running.
