I recently switched to Deezer after dealing with terrible support from Tidal in resolving a payment issue. However, if Deezer does not add wasapi support to their desktop app, I won’t be continuing with Deezer after my trial period ends.
I really like Deezer and would love to go with it but the desktop app is still lacking bit-perfect output through WASAPI exclusive or ASIO. While I don’t care for hi-res, i will rather settle with Amazon Music HD (cheaper than Deezer but also no bit-perfect output) or go for Qobuz (same price tag as deezer but (much) worse discovery and catalogue size). I compared Tidal, Qobuz, Deezer and Amazon HD for one month with many songs and found that Tidal often has strange/own mastering which is too bass-heavy/condensed for my taste.
Deezer would be perfect if only it had bit-perfect output (and maybe would adjust the price to Amazon HD (13 USD/month with hi-res) and Qobuz in the US (15 USD/month with hi-res).
Hi there
Thank you for your honest feedback. I'll make sure it reaches the right team here at Deezer and hopefully it can be developed at some point
Just switched from Tidal to Deezer. Deezer is more userfriendly, more interesting collections, flow, jay z not the best artist in the world, etc… But I didn’t even fully understand that this is a exclusive mode do (actually understood, but did not notice much difference). But now in userfriendly’s Deezer app (which the back button does not work - and this destroys the entire user experience) I really hear the difference, more difference, then using different DACs in chain.
You need to do this exclusive mode as soon as possible with wasapi, asio, and all other “shiit”) like agreement with guys from MQA. Because HiFi subscription in Deezer and Tidal - it is the biggest advantage compared to Spotify and Apple Music.
I understand that this is not a very popular subscription plan. But it will grow and while Spotify comes to its senses, you will get a user base ready to pay for high resolution audio.
And don’t stop at Flac, stream as high frequency as possible, who cares that 99.99% of people will not hear the difference, hardware do)) seriously)
Thank you for your detailed feedback
Two years since original post and still no changes :(
PS
And please tell programmers to add “try catch” in critical places in application. It crashes 4-5 times in a day without any error messages.
Thanks a lot for the feedback

This is for Deezer developers :)
haha
I’m very afraid we’ll never see proper ASIO/WASAPI support from Deezer because their strategy seems to rely solely on browser/web clients. The windows app is just a wrapper (with a stripped chrome engine) running the website. Probably also the mobile apps somehow work like this.
Because ASIO/WASAPI would require the browser(s) to support that (which they don’t, correct me if I’m wrong), the web client focus strategy is a problem. Effectively, they would have to develop a real windows client.
The few people with proper hardware and understanding of this issue are no reason to raise any issue or engage any efforts.
Only thing I don’t understand: why even offer a HiFi plan then?!
Why not,
Even with the 'wrapper' app, you can listen and stream in FLAC.
We do take your comments with gratitude in any case. This support hasn't been prioritised so far but it hasn't been ruled out either. We need more votes, more comments like yours, to emphasise the idea over other features we can work on at this present moment
I tried every music service that plays FLAC, starting with Tidal then Qobuz, Amazon Music HD and finally Deezer. I was SO close to calling it and being satisfied but not being able to specify the output and set basic options such as direct/asio/wasapi is crazy considering what the service is.
Honestly, Deezer is probably the best in terms of UI and simplicity excluding Spotify so it’s surprising you aren’t trying to steal the market here as high quality music seems to be discussed more and more frequently.
If you do decide to make a desktop app please ditch UWP! Also, more options, have an advanced toggle if worried about simplicity but if you’re advertising towards users that care about the detail then the small options are needed. Appreciate the dark mode toggle though, was a delight.

Rudi … You may be able to listen, but there will possibly be delays and glitches as it competes for system resources. The quality of one’s listening experience is not just the format of the file.
ASIO, WASAPI and Exclusive Mode are direct/exclusive audio implementations purposefully developed to avoid such issues … and therefore a consideration for anyone with a passion for digital/streamed music.
PS - I do enjoy Deezer :) … so keep up the good work and continue to develop improvements.
Thanks a lot for your detailed feedback!
You surely know what you're talking about.
I'll be passing your comments to our devs for discussion
Hello. With Deezer’s great library, ASIO, WASAPI, KS support would be amazing improvement, because it’s much more noticeable on low budget computers than bitrate. I even tested integrated sound card with free ASIO4ALL and the stereo image is much wider.
Also, there is this topic on MusicBee forum:
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=15364.0
Would it maybe be easier to integrate Deezer with another player which can use those protocols?
Maybe the priority are mobile devices for now, so that’s the reason there is no support yet.
Hi
Thanks for your feedback!
You've raised an interesting point there about the low budget computers. This could be an asset our teams could be looking to take advantage of.
About the protocols session, while I'm not an expert, I believe it wouldn't be a move we'd consider - at least for now.
I'll be passing your reply to our devs for consideration
I use vb asio hifi virtual cable and jplay and I am happy with it but in my opinion asio should be integrated in your desktop app. If it weren't for vb cable I wouldn't probably use deezer.
Thanks for showing us your perspective as well
Yes this would be a good thing to have, other streamers such as Tidal have it, not sure about Qobuz, it should improve the sound quality if using a computer and an external DAC.
Yes
I issued a trial subscription and did not find direct audio output to the DAC. I will wait for the elimination of this defect, but for now I will use another service.
I hope Deezer desktop app will support exclusive mode in near future at least.
