Let’s take control of your sound with Deezer Connect!

Heads up! As of today 6th May 2025, the Deezer Connect (remote control) feature has been discontinued. While we know some of you loved using it, we’re focusing on improving other listening experiences across devices. Thanks for your support—and check out our devices page to explore other ways to enjoy Deezer! 💜

Let’s take control of your sound with Deezer Connect!

You asked and we made it! Deezer Connect is here folks!

We know this has been a long-expected feature but the waiting is over and now you
can control your music across all your devices with the Deezer app from your phone.

📲😎📺

You can now use your iOS or Android device to control our desktop app,
Deezer web or simply another iOS or Android device.

💃🏻🕺🏽

How does it work?

Tap on the Audio output button (bottom left of the screen), choose
Deezer Connect and control all your music at your fingertips

What will be the first song you will connect to another device?

    @soakes

Could be a bug… but have you also tried what i suggested in my last post?

Android beta app and / or using a different web browser…

    It’s surely a bug.

I just tried it using Safari… exactly the same lack of success.

There seems to be a conflict - either between which device has control or which song is considered to be the current one.  Sometimes the “now playing” bar alternates between the song I have selected and a previous one.

No amount of “have you tried turning it off an don again” is going to resolve this.  I realise it works for many people, so I’m really hoping there is a workaround - or a fix.

Yes, this could make a difference because beta is beta… 😉

But surely latest release also could have the bug.
I can’t test it because i am an Apple user.

Well.. it was your suggestion ;-)  ...but of course I have tried it with the latest non-beta version as well.

The point is (and I would very much like the Deezer support team to hear this) that if there is a bug with a particular setup, then it *is a bug*.  Trying it out on different configurations might be interesting and even useful, but suggesting doing so is merely delaying the inevitable - actually investigating the behaviour and trying to understand it.

I don’t want to labour the point, but as a software developer myself, I have an intuitive understanding of what might be going wrong whenever someone reports an undesired behaviour.  I would only ever suggest trying something if I thought it might actually have a chance to make a difference.

I don’t know where to go from here.  I know that Spotify remote control works reliably. :-(

    @soakes

    Sign… 👍🏻

I know that this was classified as a bug for one of the last release versions and that it worked for some users with beta.
But know it’s up to the devs to investigate if it’s a bug or not.
Hopefully one of the community managers has some more information.
I also suggest you write a support request giving detailed information about your system.

Deezer support has acknowledged that “we have an issue with Deezer Connect| and the relevant department is working on fixing it.”

    I quiver with antici…

Could be a bug… but have you also tried what i suggested in my last post?

Android beta app and / or using a different web browser…

    Yes,

    • chrome, firefox and edge makes the same
    • another system with Win 8.1 and chrome

The “fight” is as @soakes described above… and… while it “flashes”, the android app doesn’t control neither the volume

I’m going to try the android beta… I’ll make you know!
Is it the version 7.0.23.1 ?

Thank you for your effort , @Superschlumpf

I’ve made a try with the android version 7.0.23.1 (it should be the beta one)

    This is my test
    - It stops “fight”, but the play is broken by many stops

    - with Deezer on chrome, the control is not fluid as it shoud be: as I change the song, the chrome app receive my command only after some second

    - with Deezer program, it raises an error on a pink rectangle

    :-(

I made a mistake and updated deezer on android and my fire tv 4k. In the result, I have the same bug with “fighting” as albesco0. For now I cannot play any music on my tv - I’m not only annoyed, I’m considering to switch my family to spotify or another service… This is not funny, we have 2023 and the users are treated as testers of the app they pay for (and the price has been raised recently).

The cherry on top is, no one from deezer is responding for the bug reports, we can chat here forever. No information whether they fix it or not. No changelogs for each version or anything
