Let’s take control of your sound with Deezer Connect!

Heads up! As of today 6th May 2025, the Deezer Connect (remote control) feature has been discontinued. While we know some of you loved using it, we’re focusing on improving other listening experiences across devices. Thanks for your support—and check out our devices page to explore other ways to enjoy Deezer! 💜

Let’s take control of your sound with Deezer Connect!

You asked and we made it! Deezer Connect is here folks!

We know this has been a long-expected feature but the waiting is over and now you
can control your music across all your devices with the Deezer app from your phone.

📲😎📺

You can now use your iOS or Android device to control our desktop app,
Deezer web or simply another iOS or Android device.

💃🏻🕺🏽

How does it work?

Tap on the Audio output button (bottom left of the screen), choose
Deezer Connect and control all your music at your fingertips

What will be the first song you will connect to another device?

Congratulations to Deezer on releasing Deezer Connect, a huge step forward in remote connectivity for audio playback!

I was thrilled about this "connect" feature . When I tried to control with My Android phone to Windows desktop deezer or webplayer, the only Thing what happened  was that I managed to change Song name to pc screen but it does not play it at all. When I try to connect from my Android phone to another Android phone, same happens. Phone what is  supposed to play just display the information of The track but nothing more. Next time I tried it, first it seemed to work. The track started to play but when I tried to change different song, everything started to go crazy. The track started to play but after half minutes The track started from The beginning by itself and I totally lost control to what to I was listening.

When I used my iPhone and connected that to Android phone it seemed to work like it is supposed. Every app had the latest updates.

You cannot advertise this connect" feature from Android to Android or Android to pc or Chrome webplayer If it does not work! Hopefully there will be fixes soon because I have waited for some progress for years.

    Please, please fix this.

And next step hopefully is that someday users can control amplifiers from mobilephones like Spotify has been working for years, but I am not holding my breath for that to come soon. Maybe some Day, I hope.

Have you tried the software (not through the browser)?

I can confirm that it is impossible to successfully control the web app or the desktop app using an Android device.  Nor is it possible to control another Android device.

    Eh?

More information please, because I have never been able to get it to work.  What version of Deezer, what Android device, etc.

It’s good to see some action and some response to this issue.  (I have replied on other threads but I thought it would be best to bring it back to the main thread.)

I would say the issue is not fixed, but progress is being made.  When I try to control the Mac app from the Android app, I get this error:

When I try to control the browser I get a blank error message.

Then I press play on the Android and it does indeed start playing on the Mac app.  Then  I try to select another song and it either freezes up or the original song starts playing again.

OK… here is yet another update.  I upgraded both my S7 and my S21 to the latest version of Deezer (7.0.24.1), and elected to control the S7 from the S21.

At first it seemed to work properly.  I started playing “Flow”… played a couple of songs, skipped a couple, added a couple of favourites, turned the volume down… all successfully.

Then it glitched.  I’m not sure exactly what happened but it was like all of a sudden the two devices had different playlists.  The S7 started playing the first Flow song again.  I had to skip forward (with mixed success) to get back to the latest song again.

I’ll try to keep at it so I can report this behaviour in more detail… but for now I am … tentatively happy ;-)

More information please, because I have never been able to get it to work.  What version of Deezer, what Android device, etc.

I’ve simply been using an Android phone (Android 13) to Android tablet (Android 12) and vice versa.

Works a charm apart from volume control - it’s not possible to see the volume being changed unless you have the remote device tab up on the controlling device.  I have reported this to Deezer.

I’ll try some of the other software implementations and let you know 👍
