Is it now possible to listen to our playlist with Alexa ?
Best answer by Rudi
View originalThis is a functionality that takes a few days to implement. And it's crucial for many users as we got echos in our homes.
Old users know that at least the favorite songs list used to work but you removed even this feature.
My guess is deezer get more payback for flow than for custom playlists.
You're really annoying and losing your customers
This still isn't fixed and not really good enough
Thanks for bumping this up
Wow it’s Sep 2020 and this feature still hasn’t been enabled on alexa?
I just recently got an account and found this out here.
I regret signing up with deezer and gonna cancel soon...bye bye.
Thank you
We'll keep on working on this - can't wait to share more details with the community!
I agree with you
Devs are aware of this, more to come in 2021, I hope. I'll definitely keep you posted!
Hey
Totally get you, I've got an Echo at home as well.
I'm positive about the 3 months you've given Deezer, so I'll keep you posted!
Still positive about that? 2,5 months have passed already and still no news about it.
And again 4 months have passed.
Where is the new Alexa-skill that can handle playlists? Where is the beta-version? When is the release date?
Well, I know that's not very polite or patient but anyway, we already got three years of procrastination for a mandatory functionality that every other streaming provider offers.
Well, this is not a big shock for me. You guys have been working on a Deezer alarm for years and have not managed to do it yet. The same goes for Deezer and Alexa integration.
No wonder you are stock with few million users while Spotify is rocketing up its users every year. Meanwhile, you have improved the GUI, I give you that, but integration with other devices and additional features, you are way behind and you are losing the game. Why don’t you enable paid add-ons for Deezer? Developers will be keen to develop add-on(s) for your labs and sell them.
Thank you both
You both have made interesting points. The reason for 2021 is that because it's on the plans, but it's too early to know when an update will be worked on and completed.
Our Google Home/Assistant has personal playlists enabled, so the idea is to align Alexa too - there's no need to limit the integration either.
Then, because we're working on a new one, it should afford more features as it'll use the latest specs from Amazon. So please hang in there, keep an eye on the community and bear with me, I'll be feeding all of us more news as they come
Hi there
Sorry about the wait. We're still working on getting this to work the right way. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Hi there
Thank you for your honest feedback.
I've taken the opportunity to ask our developers for an update on this. I'll be reaching back once I've got a response
Hey Emanuel
We can certainly commit to a date, in general, but we've done that in the past and due to technical problems we couldn't stick to it. Not all users understand the frustration as you may do, that's why it's hard in a tech environment.
BUT it's been done as we speak, and without committing to a release date because we haven't got one yet, I expect to have more info about this in the next couple of months. I will keep the community posted!
As I've mentioned here, we're working on a completely new skill and I personally have an Echo at home, eager to play my own personal playlists thank you for your support and feedback!
Hi
Thank you for your honest feedback. We apologise this hasn't worked as expected. But we're still working on it, and our resources should increase in due course. Thank you for your understanding.
You're right
Procrastination is a bit harsh, I must say
When the feature is part of our app, things move quicker, generally. But when it's part of a 3rd party integration, there are other factors that determine our development work. Also, like in any other tech company, every feature development is part of a prioritisation exercise at the top here at Deezer. In sum, all I can ask you is for a bit more patience. At the moment our teams are working on reducing bugs drastically and as soon as we're in a better position on this, we'll go back to what we were working on before
I am a software engineer myself, and developing an Amazon Alexa Skill requires zero input from Amazon whatsoever. It's an independent JavaScript application.
JavaScript is one of the easiest coding langs on the world. It's object oriented and loosely typed. So give me a direct line to your developers and let me ask them why they are too incompetent to implement things such as:
A) Stop playing random things after the requested title finishes
B) Playing, shuffling and looping songs and playlists
Because I have made an application for Amazon Alexa devices which can do exactly that with my local playlists.
So any and all excuses you and your developers are giving out here a nonsense. It's just incompetent people who scam users for money. Go Spotify or Apple Music folks.
Hey
Thanks for the feedback, sorry to hear about that.
Thank you for your support so far!
Hi there
Appreciate your honest feedback. Our skill has recently been improved. I personally tested an Echo and the results have improved a lot - but there is still room for development. Thank you.
Any idea why Alexa won't play my playlists, apart from two?
It plays 'My Favourites' & 'Timz Faves' but won't play any other playlists I've created. Is there something I'm missing?
P.S. my download issue seems to be resolved & I hope I've not spoke too soon. 🫣😬
Thanks
Tim
