Hi there, I’m using a Denon. I also set up a deezer Hifi account to be able to use it with the Heos App. But as so many others here, I wondered cause of not being able to stream in flac quality.

I really like the diversity on deezer (music + podcasts) but without having the flac streaming option it is kind of useless to me.

I personally do not want to connect my cellphone with my denon with Airplay. If I do so, I will risk disconnection while I’m juming around my house/garden.

Kindly fix these Heos flac issue, or I need to stay with an other service in the future.

What is the actual expectation to get this HEOS issue solved by your developer team? There must be a project plan otherwise, I’m sorry to say, all the kind deezer support words here are just to satisfy us customer for some more days.

Hand on heart, it is time for no excuses!

Hi Thomas, thanks for your feedback. Many users request the same and we'll keep passing this feedback on to the right team, however, Deezer doesn't develop Heos apps and we can't confirm when they will implement it. This isn't really an issue to be fixed, it's something that we really want, but we don't have an estimated time yet. I agree that air playing isn't ideal and we'll keep passing all feedback internally and to Heos. We'll post here as soon as we have any more news about it!

@e1n Do you mean the display of the Deezer app on your iPhone or on your Denon network player? As far as I know (not using any Apple devices), AirPlay2 theoretically could at least support lossless streaming, because it knows ALAC which is the Apple equivalent to FLAC unlike Bluetooth which does not know FLAC. I am not sure if the FLAC stream coming from Deezer is converted somewhere to ALAC via Airplay, but available descriptions of Airplay suggest it does this automatically with all input sources - another question for @Rudi and/or involved developers and product managers.

Hey @SevenOf1

I completely get where you're coming from. I've been here with our community users and this is a subject I take a lot of ownership of.

I've been discussing the integration with our developers who have been in touch with HEOS to get this off the ground. I can assure you, we're now working to get this sorted.

It's a two-way project, but HEOS is getting all the support from us on the integration. I hope to have more exciting news at the beginning of 2021, so please stay tuned :v_tone2:

I bought my HEOS to stream in HIFI and have stuck with Deezer for over 3 years waiting. I’m finally pulling the pin and have signed up with TIDAL, first a 3 months free trial and then the monthly subscription for HIFI is slightly cheaper than Deezer and no issues streaming HIFI. I’ve just finished transferring my playlists. So long DEEZER hello HIFI

I too have paid 1€ for the 3 month TIDAL trial, and am now listening to my music in FLAC on my Denon for the first time.

TIDAL lacks a feature like Flow, which is a shame, but I imagine it’s coming soon (they have personalised playlists already). If at the end of the three months there isn’t evidence of progress from Deezer I guess I will stick with TIDAL.

Hi Rudi,
Thx for replying.
I was really disappointed, and surely understand that the effort also has to come from the people at Denon. But a more specific list of supported devices would have helped and maybe I had decided to buy a Network streamer instead of replacing my existing Denon receiver with another one that was supposed to be able to play Deezer HiFi lossless.
In Deezer’s defense: One of the Denon dealers where I inquired before buying it (later at a different one) said that the AVR-X3600 would in fact support the lossless stream,  which appears to be incorrect in hind sight.
I do like the Deezer interface so far and Deezer also works nicely together/within the HEOS app, so not all bad things from my side. I really do hope you and Denon succeed in getting it sorted out.

Qobuz would be great. Where can I find it, because I don't see Qobuz available in my heos app.

Thanks for the reply! Even on a Sunday @bluezzbastardzz  :)

Interesting thought, that it might already stream the FLAC file but its just the display thats not updated.

@Rudi can you maybe find out that in fact it is already working and just not displaying right?

I think i can speak for all of us here that nobody cares whats displayed as long as its streaming the FLAC :). I also just checked on the DENON and no firmware update available. But if you guys are 100% certain that it should work, than we can reach out to DENON to get them to update the firmware.

By the way, it’s a bank holiday in the UK today, so UK staff might not work at all, except from home due to the Corona virus of course.

As I am not familiar with the HEOS system, is there a way to find out the amount of transferred megabytes per song maybe? That way you could at least make an educated guess if a song is in MP3 at 320kbps or in FLAC with at least 2-3 times the size (depending on its content).

Add me to the list of people needing hifi to be playable on heos.

I have my whole house set up with a variety of the Denon wifi speakers.....

Have used Tidal for a year now but is very expensive in Australia..... Was looking at alternatives... Amazon HD is not available here which is frustrating. But I have heard online that Deezer uses good sounding original recording that sound as good as Tidal so was wanting to give them a go (MQA is wasted on me with me as I don't really have anything that uses it to justify the extra subscription price) Tidal also has some artists not available in my region that is available.on others. (Very frustrating)

Very disappointed to discover after activating my free trial of Deezer that it was streaming in MP3 only.... Cancelled straight away and will only use until the free period lasts.

Hopefully of this changes in the very near future I may change my mind.

But not at this stage unfortunately.

Hi there @VelimirSaban

Thanks for reaching out. Can you find our TV app for your LG TV? Is the TV plugged into the Denon? iPhone loses quality when casting at the moment, but we're working on a new Cast integration that might help you, considering your devices.

Everyone following this post or comming where to search for solution, please upvote the feature request:
@Hifiman000 Can you maybe add it to your original post? Thanks 😉

We should not have to discuss this again and vote for a new idea, Deezer just needs do what they promised and implement the feature.

Hello everyone, i`m from Ukraine, Deezer is realy good service with best content in our region, i mean locally music. Still waiting HI-Fi for my 2 Heos amps and Marantz 7013.
Tidal is too much rap music service for me, i mean their recomendations

I'm waiting too. I've invested lots of money being sure Deezer is able to stream hi-fi music to HEOS devices. Disappointed. Hopefully Spotify will come and resolve this odd issue.

I cannot add more other than pass your detailed and honest feedback @UGatDeezer you do have some many points.

Thank you for this and your overall support - I also changed the title of the topic following your suggestion :thumbsup_tone2:

Sorry about it, but as we said before, it's a two-way project, but HEOS is getting all the support from us on the integration. As soon as we get more updates on it, we will let you know. 🙏🏽

Take care.

Another 8 months without any update, but at least Jonathan confirmed the two-way project existing somehow at that point in time …

@Rudi So we should give up the hope for a Christmas gift from HEOS :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

For this reason I went from Deezer to Tidal.

I have been using Deezer for a while with hi-fi quality. Now that I have Denon stereo receiver with Heos it's obviously not working.

Why would I pay for something that I cannot use?

And obviously Deezer team have no interest in fixing this!

I still love Deezer interface more than Tidal but quality of music is more important to me.

I will not support company that is incapable or does not want to fix simple thing such as is hi-fi format, flac support.

Apparently they have no interest in fixing this.

So goodbye Deezer. I cannot recommend Deezer anymore.

Hi @Pima

Thanks for your feedback. How do you stream to your HEOS at the moment? Which mobile device do you have?

We're also working on a new integration with devices, including the ones which support Google's Cast :thumbsup_tone2:

I tried to broadcast on bluetooth, from my Samsung S7e to my Marantz. The app includes High Accuracy. This makes no sense Bluetooth will not transmit Hi-Fi sound. And when HEOS works from the Internet, the quality is MP3 / 320. When will you make Hi-Fi audio available for HEOS? As promised in the Deezer ad. We all pay you money, but the promised Hi-Fi quality is not. (((

Hello guys, I am sorry but I need clarification :/ I am trying to assemble my first hifi setup (which is by itself very confusing for me, I had no idea it would be like that :D) and I thought I had finally put together a list of components until I came across this post. My list includes DENON RCD-N10:

https://usa.denon.com/en-us/shop/denonna-mini/ceoln10_d

And I really love Deezer, now I am on premium subscription but I planed to upgrade to hifi after my setup is complete. So, my question is what are my options for streaming hifi music from my pc and my phone(I am using Samsung S10 if that is relevant) on this receiver? To be precise, what should I do in order to stream hifi records from my phone and pc on this receiver using Deezer, do I need some app, do I need wired connection to my pc etc.? Or should I go with some other receiver maybe? I hope my question is not too stupid and I am really not in music tech so I would really appreciate your help :)

Have a nice day and I hope someone finds the time to answer me :)

Hey @MitchG

Please subscribe to this topic so that you get a notification for when I update it, hopefully with good news!

Hi, Nico @NickDundee moved your comment here for further info. This part of our integration on HEOS hasn't been developed by them yet. But we're hopeful it can be done at some point this year. Subscribe to the topic for updates and in the meantime, thank you for supporting Deezer

Hello, I have been trying to stream Deezer HiFi over IOS HEOS to a Marantz SR6013 Receiver. All Hi Res attempts have been limited to 320 kbps MP3 quality.  The current version of HEOS is supposed to be able to stream FLAC and the audio setting in the HEOS App is set to the Highest Quality. Additionally, the Deezer App on the phone is set at the High Fidelity Setting.  Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks for keeping this discussion active @Ean666

We're pretty much eager to provide our users with FLAC streaming but we're depending on HEOS at the moment. Hopefully their devs can find the availability to make the required adjustments :pray_tone2:

Thanks Rudi, Have they given you a date they're working on, or indeed, what steps they are taking towards it?

Hi,

i am about to buy a Denon DRA800 and I have Deezer Hifi.

i know there is an issue with Heos.

Do you know if I can play in hi-Fi mode directly from the Deezer app and through AirPlay? That could be a solution?

best

alex

Any news ????

We do @Silvestrus I've been looped in the chain of contacts our developers made to HEOS. Please bear in mind that it's their app and so, their development. We've been asking for this for a while now too. Thank you for your understanding :thumbsup_tone2:
