Rudy, honestly, will Deezer deliver Hi-Fi quality to HEOS users? And if so, when will this happen? If not, remove the HEOS device from your page, and do not mislead users. The shy, small, yellow hi-fi icon that appeared recently on your site is a shame for Deezer. I wish I believed your ad.

Hi @Badirr @lvrmsc @Pima @Alex Po

Thanks for waiting. After a few chats with our product teams about this, we managed to activate FLAC streaming for the HEOS app   I now need you to test this and let me know how it works, to make sure we're doing the right thing

Hello Rudi,

Hi Denon/Marantz owners))

1 year is ending soon after first message in this topic.

We are still waiting and hoping.

Day by day))

Dear All! I am new here, and would like to share with all Marantz and Denon users my experience of listening Deezer HiFi subscription in 16/44.1 (redbook) quality at home. I will not blame anybody here, I have read all the history, and can confirm only, that till now (28.04.2021) HEOS app, does not stream Deezer HiFi in lossless format to my Marantz PM7000n, at least it shows me “mp3 320 k.bit” in the app, when playing Deezer through the app, having HiFi subscription.

So, how to solve this issue and get to down sampled music streamed wirelessly to you home stereo setup? Here we currently have two options, and I have used them both with pleasure:

  1. For those who have relatively new models of Denon and Marantz items and IPhone or IPad, which support the Airplay 2 protocol via home wi-fi network - simply use this! Exactly 2nd version of Airplay protocol sends the audio via wi-fi to your devices without down sampling (it only converts flac to alac format of the data stream), so your device DAC will get if properly. I got only one problem here: IPhone cannot find my Marantz PM7000n via wi-fi connection due to poor home modem/router (many user face such issue around the world) but it works ideally if you connect your device to LAN with cable! Please check this out!
  2. Send solution is for those who are happy owners of Xbox One, One S, One X etc. whith optical (tosllink) digital audio out. You can install on your Xbox a relatively cheap app “Airserver” which support Airplay 2 protocol. You need to have Iphone or Ipad, so you can stream you music to Xbox (it receives it, and up sample it to 16/48 only). Than you need to select audio output option of Xbox “stereo pcm” and send it via toslink to external DAC or to you device if it has optical in.

Both option were perfectly fine to me. Moreover, I tried to play Deezer tracks in Heos app. and realized that the app itself is uncomfortable to use, so I do not like it at all, and therefore I do not wait for HiFi support there at all.

Cheers to all, and happy listening! Take cheap used Xbox, and be happy with a very useful media device, for many purposes, like video, audio, network, gaming, even CD playing ;-)

We'll surely keep you posted once we cross that line with HEOS @Eli.Barbie, just subscribe to the topic.

In the meantime, all I can say is thank you for your honest feedback :pray_tone2:

Ball is in their court now @Alex Po but here at Deezer we have our fingers crossed

Registering my interest in this as well. Currently waiting for HEOS Hi-Fi integration with my Denon before purchasing the Hi-Fi subscription of Deezer.

Hopefully it'll come before Spotify release their hi-fi mode. I don't really have any loyalty to either platform, just whichever is quickest to release and outputs the highest quality audio.

@Rudi, in the Chromecast thread you said the Deezer HiFi now works with Heos.

However, like the poster above, I’m only getting 320 kbps MP3, so HiFi is not working.

Heos is on my Marantz AV7704 processor, which works with tracks up to 24 bit/192 kHz on Amazon Music HD and Qobuz.  Also, my Heos app is up to date.

Well, like the others, I would not sell my fairly expensive 10 Heos speakers to get other equipment that is compatible with Deezer HiFi flac as long as I have alternatives. As a consequnce, I turned to Tidal that offered  hifi and master quality as a promo 4 months for 1 euro (yeah, other countries have it for 4 euro. Even if after that 4 months it costs a lot more (19.99) than Deezer hifi it may keep me as a client. I did not bought hifi equipmnet flac and dsd capable to hear only 320kbps! It's like listening mono on a stereo equipment. The only thing keeping me with Deezer are my lists , wider library, and somehow more logical track recommendations. Eventually I can live without that, so in 4 months I could cancel the subscription. If Heos can stream Tidal and Amazon(unfortunately not available in my country) flac, but not Deezer it can mean that Deezer has older systems and software and they are incapable of reaching the same agreements that Tidal has with Heos.

Got a response today from Denon:

Thank you for taking the time to send us valuable feedback regarding Deezer Hi-Fi streaming through HEOS, we value all feedback we gain from customers and this information will be passed onto the relevant department to help improve on our service and products.

There is currently no plans on adding Deezer Hi-Fi support in the near future.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Hey @SevenOf1

I completely get where you're coming from. I've been here with our community users and this is a subject I take a lot of ownership of.

I've been discussing the integration with our developers who have been in touch with HEOS to get this off the ground. I can assure you, we're now working to get this sorted.

It's a two-way project, but HEOS is getting all the support from us on the integration. I hope to have more exciting news at the beginning of 2021, so please stay tuned :v_tone2:

Is there any progress?

it’s been years we wait for this upgrade. Really sad and poor attention from Denon/Deezer

Looking forward to this feature becoming available as I’d like to upgrade to Hifi but neither my HEOS devices nor the Bose SoundTouch system or Apple TV are supported by Deezer Hifi yet.

Hey @JakobPra thanks a lot for asking!

I'm not an expert on the peripherals and connections of that type. @bluezzbastardzz @walker do you have a recommendation?

I am in the same situation.  Hoping this hifi feature will be available on HEOS soon.

My 2 cents as a MA ND6006/PM8006 owner.

Airplay2 down samples flac AFAIK. So proper support is really needed and as a “premium” streamer it should be on top of your list to push for that, IMHO.

Any progress whit the new Denon features?

Here in Sweden it's many Denon user's that's interested of a good hifi solution.

Thanks Robban

Hey @nielsclaassens @UGatDeezer

Thank you for supporting this, it really does make a difference.

Well, @nielsclaassens after our users came here in this topic to let us know the same thing (MP3 streams) we informed our devs who then contacted their counterparts - and they said that they needed to do some work on the app to enable this. So in theory, everyone was under the impression HiFi stream (in FLAC) was enabled, but more work is indeed required - from HEOS. We'll keep you updated here :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks for sharing your honest feedback with us @heos

I encourage you to let HEOS know about this as well, and for you to subscribe to the topic here for future updates. I'll be asking our devs to give a push from our side as well, once more :thumbsup_tone2:

Right, but hard give them feedback

when the Heos App ( on my phone ) under help and contact point to empty or removed webpage

Find hard to think this system been on the market so many years and something this simple don't work as with the HIFI,  it not a problem I see With other Brands have to say I feel cheated like they do something  ½ and give up start to look at new things before it even works

Im in Vietnam btw not that do anything for me other then making impossible to return the box

Just signed up for Deezer HiFi as a cheaper alternative to Tidal for use with my Denon home cinema receiver and very disappointed to see the quality limited to MP3 320Kbps.

Also very disappointed to see this thread dragging on for a year with no resolution.

I'm going to cancel my subscription. For my use case, there's no benefit to me over using Spotify until HEOS streaming is supported at the advertised HiFi / Lossless bitrates.

What the industry needs is a platform similar to Spotify Connect which allows other streaming services like Tidal or Deezer to select the target playback device from right within the app itself rather than relying on third party integration from the likes of HEOS.

While Spotify is limited to 320Kbps the usability and integration of the platform just puts the competition to shame. Here's hoping Spotify roll out HiFi streaming soon.

If you have Xbox One (S, X) at home, you should try to stream it through Xbox AirServer application, this will make possible to disable all wifi and network connections in your amp, and you’ll get straight full analog mode from toslink connection, and will keep deezer hifi as cheap service.

Marantz Customer Service in Germany answered today to me, that the wish to integrate Deezer Hifi into the HEOS App has been forwarded to their developers but that they can’t state if and when it can be put into future updates. Does somebody know if they use Testflight for Beta testing the HEOS App and if users can participate in their testing?

Thank you for your suggestion but the reason I purchased a Denon amp with HEOS support was to enable streaming support right at source without involving any third party devices like an xBox, PC, or Playstation (which all generate their own noise, consume their own electricity, and introduce processing losses in the signal path).

My use case is HEOS.

As Spotify Connect offers the most user friendly experience with no loss of quality compared with Deezer via my receiver’s integrated streaming support, I will stick with that.

When Deezer have enabled HiFi support via HEOS I will re-subscribe to HiFi, on a long term / permanent basis.

I’ll watch this thread with baited breath.

Dear @Rudi,

I am been supporting Deezer HiFi for more than 2 years now, waiting for my Denon AVR to be supported directly from your platform.

I do understand that this implementation may require an agreement between the different parties (Denon/Marantz and Deezer) as well as SW implementations in both sides, but I cannot understand that two serious strong players in this market would take so much time to do that. Being in the software industry, I would expect that the implementation should take around 3-6 months, but not more than that.

If I look back in this thread, around 2 years ago (around May 2019), the first questions about Denon support started. Since then, I have only seen the plea to hold a little longer, but without any concrete date or commitment from Deezer side or any explanation of what is really missing.

Therefore, since I have not seen any effective results so far, I am now downgrading my subscription to the Premium. I hope this sends a clear message to the Product Owners/Solution Owners in Deezer. I would also recommend to other customers to do the same and report it here, to show that this is an important feature for us (your customers) and that we are dissatisfied with the way that this is being treated.

I will keep watching this thread and hopefully, by the time Deezer and Denon come to an agreement, I still have my Deezer account and/or my Denon AVR.

    Sorry for that.

    Best regards,

  Luís.

Hi there @ADS2471 @JakobPra @wnightsound @Silvestrus @Ibiskus

Thank you so much for your contribution - that only means we need to dig deeper about this. I hope to be back soon with more info, please bear with me :pray_tone2:

Hey @dmit

Sorry to see you go.

You'll see that in Tech, giving a timeline is already difficult, let alone when it's a partnership and there are 2 brands involved.

We know that HEOS is working on sorting this out and our developers are collaborating with anything that's required from them. Please register your support for this integration with HEOS as well. Development is on their side so they might be able to give you a rough estimate

Thank you for your understanding!

Hi there @Pima

Sorry you feel that way - I appreciate your concerns. HEOS devices are supported, but not fully when it comes to HiFi.

However, without the HEOS app, how can you stream to your specific device? In fact, is this your model? https://www.marantz.com/en-gb/shop/wirelessmusicsystems/melodyxmcr612

Have you tried streaming directly from the Deezer app if the system is connected to the same network your phone is? Let us know, please :thumbsup_tone2:
