Chromecast and Android: No 'play next' or 'add to queue'

Using Deezer on Android. When Chromecasting I cannot select 'play next' or 'add to queue' for songs. The options are greyed out. They work fine if I stop casting. I've seen similar posts going back months on here and can't believe this basic functionality hasn't been sorted out.

Hi there, unfortunately that is correct. It is not possible to use these two features on while using Chromecast. I am happy to pass it on to hopefully change this 😉

There are complaints about Deezer and Chromecast on this forum going back months. In addition to the above I also have constant app crashes when trying to use Chromecast, and random losing the stream. I really wanted to pick up a family plan here, but Deezer's lack of Chromecast support is absolutely shocking. Oh well, Spotify it is then.

Hi @Steve-K we are currently working on these issues. It would help us a lot if you can let us know which device you use to cast and which Chromecast device you have. The more technical information the better and I will pass it on. I can understand you being disappointed and we hope to welcome you back once we fixed it.
I've run into this issue too when using Deezer with a Chromecast. I'm using a Pixel 2 and casting to a Google home group consisting of a mixture of Google Home Minis and Audio Chromecasts.

@Aaron Romeo It looks as though Deezer couldn't care less about Chromecast. They have no intention of fixing it and seem to be deleting community threads on the topic.
There's two ideas suggested for queue management while casting. Please vote on the ideas.
Admins: please merge these two, and help the dev team prioritize the issues.

Thank you for exploring the community and compiling this list. We're aware they're in separate topics and we've decided to keep them separate to make it open for more people to find it. Feedback is collected by us from all parts of the community, so when we speak to our teams about what our users want, we don't leave anything out ;)

For the time being you're right, we need people to vote for the idea so that we have a louder voice when representing our community!
This feature is an absolute must for deezer to continue being listed as an explicit Google home service in the Google home app.

I would expect nothing less than the same standards of any app with the prestige to be listed by name on the Google home app.

As a software development professional myself, I highly suggest both the severity and priority of these bugs are raised to show stopping status because customers will not buy a half supported product for their smart homes.

Any update on this? Chromecast Shuffle and 'Play Next' functionality has been an issue for years - can you tell me whether this is being actively worked on?

HI @Ezman this is indeed being worked on. We are actually working on a new version for the Chromecast integration, I am afraid I do not have any timeframe to share. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I have a Pixel 3 and am experiencing this same issue whenever I am casting to a Chromecast

It's every Google device I have ever tried to cast to: Chromecast 4k, Chromecast Original, Google Home Mini, Google Home, etc
I was testing Deezer and not implementing this feature is a show stopper for my family. Bye Deezer.
Queuing songs whilst connected to Chromecast is a deal breaker for me too. I was ready to switch the whole family from Spotify to Deezer, as it is a vastly superior service, but without this feature I cannot justify it. Such a shame.

Well, there’s not many days yet and this was reported at least a year ago.  Lack of “Play Next” and “Add to Queue” is an absolute deal breaker for me.

Please help me! I’m currently subscribed to Tidal for HiFi but I’m so sick of having the likes of Jay-Z and Boyonce rammed down my throat every time I open the app (not a fan!) I need to get off that platform but HiFi is a must for me.

Deezer is the obvious platform if only it worked! There must be thousands of Chromecast and Chromecast built in users effected buy this silly bug.

Deezer is so well positioned to be the choice for HiFi enthusiasts but is let down by the lack of these basic features.
