Chromecast and Android: No 'play next' or 'add to queue'

Using Deezer on Android. When Chromecasting I cannot select 'play next' or 'add to queue' for songs. The options are greyed out. They work fine if I stop casting. I've seen similar posts going back months on here and can't believe this basic functionality hasn't been sorted out.

This was one of the things I left Deezer for

I think this is more a fix than a feature. We should have the same experience regardless we are using Bluetooth, Chromecast, AirPlay or not.

Hey there, I am so sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this feature is not going to be implemented for now. 

This been sorted yet ? Or any update on an eta for it ?
 

Really wanna drop Spotify and come back to deezer but this is a deal breaker for me

This really is a dealbreaker when having friends over and listening to music on Chromecast. Will be moving over to Spotify sadly who support Chromecast properly.

I honestly thought the app was bugging when I didn't see these two options in the menu.

I've found CC support to be lacklustre in certain other competitors but this a new low.

Apologies for the experience you've been having. Yes, we have our new Chromecast integration ready and working but play next and add to queue are still features we need to develop for it. I'm unable to give you a timescale but I assure you that your feedback will add priority to their development. I say this because I know our focus for the end of this year and 2021 is to get all these integrations with other devices to work better and do more :thumbsup_tone2:

We are nearing the end of 2021 now and it seems that this hasn't been implemented yet. You have any update for us?

(I'm using a Google nest audio, streaming from android.)

It should be basic feature. Actually, it is a deal breaker for me,  as I use Chromecast all the time, and Deezer doesn't seem to support Chromecast that well.

When will this error be fixed please?

Three years and still nothing. Amazing.

Deezer, please add the functionality to Deezer, I too would like to be able to use a play queue while casting, this is pretty basic functionality. Thanks

I totally get your point @DP4 I've been pushing the feedback you mentioned during this time. It's just that the team in charge of this is actually one of the busiest teams in the whole of Deezer - we have numerous partnerships and huge projects with them involved - I'll let them know what you think :pray_tone2:

I know I’ve complained a lot about Deezer so here’s some praise :grinning: I’ve possibly just found one feature that will keep me on Deezer . Just found out I can sync music to my fitbit and not need to take my phone out running.   Never realized that was possible on a fitbit to do.

Thanks for the honest feedback @DP4 it isn't about complexity, it just hasn't been prioritised as you can control/edit the queue and then cast. But I totally get what you mean and I strongly believe we'll be getting this done at some point. Your comments here help us to add "pressure" to get resources allocated to the feature development. So please stay tuned to our community, no matter what kind of decision you make around streaming services :pray_tone2:

Completely understand if it’s not been prioritised  but reading through this this is something that's been asked for going back years and every other music streaming service that can be linked with google home is capable of doing this so someone who has some pull at Deezer must see on here the people asking for this function and  be able to get the app developer to  make the minor changes needed for this to work 

 

Will keep an eye on it and hope you can surprise me (if you can will be straight on for family hifi ) but not expecting anything to be done about it anytime soon

Just started a Hifi trial to get away from the dumpster fire that is YouTube music.

 

Audio quality is stellar, but lack of Chromecast functionality which Google Play Music already had years ago (until Google put a bullet through that one too) will be a dealbreaker for me if it's not fixed. Like so many others, I'll probably wind up on Spotify as well.

 

As has been said before, Deezer shouldn't be blowing the Google Home trumpets if it's not showing up with the most basic of goods. 

Exact same here , had been absolutely loving the trial of Deezer I'm on and thought this was gonna be the one to finally replace years of Spotify until I tried to queue up some music on my Google home system and found I couldn't . Complete deal breaker and I'm a bit gutted about it as I spent ages trying the settings to see where I was going wrong and spent a bit of time transferring and setting up playlists as was ready to go all in with Deezer 

 

Even apple music which surely must be the most unlikely Google companion ever manages to do this so it can't be that hard to integrate surely.
