I came from Spotify that already has this feature for a long time, and I miss it.

I like to control the music of the pc using my cell phone, and it would be great if Deezer had this option.

thanks.

We appreciate your honest feedback@Estéfano Vechietti. We're working on the feature to discover more devices around so that stream is possible. We hope to have more updates before the end of this year, so I thank you for your patience and support :pray_tone2:

I just moved from Spotify to try the Hifi offer but I'm already frustrated about this missing feature…

I hope that it will be cover soon...

I've recently moved from Play Music because of streaming in FLAC on Deezer. Your FLACs are good enough and mostly sounds yummy. Play Music is much cheaper, but such remote control by phone feature will make me feel myself much happier.

Implementation:

1. App/WebApp opened and registered itself on a server

2. In another app you have access to currently registered webapps/apps

3. They are deregistered manually (or session timeout)

4. Same webapp/app have the same id

5. Control server has API like

- nextTrack

- previousTrack

- playPlaylist

6. User opens app on phone

7. App registers itself on server

8. Now, there is additional button on both app and webapp: "route to", press shows menu of other currently registered devices, and on press you stop playing on current app, sync play order and start playing on chosen device

9. When app is opened and another app is currently playing, idle app shows remote control screen by default instead of default screen

10. There is "detach" button to detach from remote controlled app and start playing locally

11. While detach button is not pressed any selected from Deezer playlist/album/track should be sent to remote app instead of being playing locally: 1) sync play order; 2) trigger "play"

You already have feature to sync play orders, all you need is to trigger play order syncing remotely and support play/pause, next, previous remote calls. You also have authentication mechanism to determine user apps.

Do not look into local Wi-Fi network implementations, it has too many pitfalls and will lead to questions like "i have double NAT and your remote doesn't work, should not be a problem, fix it, fix it"

Thanks for the feedback, @Andrew.Snejovski. Will definitely pass it on to our teams 👍🏼

A feature like spotify connect for Deezer would be very welcome

+1 for remote control

You can listen to music to 3 different devices, but if you control your music, maybe you can access from more than 3 if you just control, not play music.

Am thinking about heading back to Spotify. I want an amp that I can use for network streaming. Only Spotify is out there as a native app on amplifiers. Deezer can't be used to play songs on other devices. It's no use subscribing to Spotify for my hifi and deezer for my phone.

As great as Deezer is, if it can't keep up, it dies.

Such a shame that deezer say 'great idea, thanks!' a lot, but seem to do little to accommodate.

All we want is a decent rival to Spotify:

1. Ability to edit playlists while not connected to the Internet (we're not all blessed with the matrix)

2. Ability to play deezer on any device without using your Phone's Bluetooth to stream the music. i.e. Native deezer client as per Spotify

Same here, I also started testing Deezer yesterday  as a Spotify member, and as long as I am able to see, I really like it. I am looking for the HiFi offer cause I will buy headphones with decent sound, sth Spotify doesn't offer. But it's frustrating that there is no remote control, had thought it should be a basic feature and I am surprised it's missing here. Without it it's really hard for me to fully switch.

And disappointing that it's not possible to stream HiFi Songs on my Sony TV or Soundbar, so I won't be able to really get out the maximum of my subscription, if I really stay after the test month.

We're still working on our new Cast integration, which will allow more and better device discovery - we've been developing this for quite some time, so we'd like to have you on board to give it a go. More updates before the end of this year! @PatMac19 @Meister Jason

Hi there @Meister Jason

I believe I've replied to you on another topic. Thank you for your support.

We're working hard to deliver a new feature on device discovery. Please bear with us a bit longer, we're looking to have more updates by the end of this year.

C’mon the remote control feature. Hopefully not too far away now. We need this!

Thanks for your support @Steven Kelly :thumbsup_tone2:

it would be nice if i could switch to sonos speaker from my phone mid song.

Hey @SS's Deezer

You're right, that would be cool. Thank you for your feedback, we'll be adding to this existing idea - as it's related :thumbsup_tone2:

Have another upvote….here is my specific scenario:

Whilst in the office I listen to Deezer via my laptop connected to my wireless bluetooth headphones.

Sometimes, when I walk away from my desk I want to chnage the music I am listening to...Using my FitBit Versa 2 I could navigate to a different album, and play it….changing the music on my laptop to the one I have just selected.

Currently, I have to walk back to my desk to chnage the music (which is good for my step count :o)….it’s something Spotify does perfectly, as that also gives me an option to play from the ‘other’ device as well if needed.

Rudi, are there any updates as we are 2020?!

Hi there @MarcoG @Mark Phillipson

Thanks again for your feedback. At least we're doing something for your step count @Mark Phillipson

We haven't stopped working on this, since last year, but we needed more time. And we keep preparing for it, as we speak. So as soon as the team gives us an update, we'll be sharing here.

It's exactly what's happening right now with me. I want to listen to music on my mobile phone, but I would also like to control it from my laptop's keyboard since I don't like to move my hands away from it. With this setup, I can go to the next door keeping the music on, since I can drop the phone into my pocket!!!

2020 and still no progress? Come on... Get your coders and programmers fired and hire some guys who are able to do this in a week... Can't belive that I STILL have to get up from my couch to change music!

Thank you for your feedback @Tobiias @diegocarvalho

We'll pass it on to the right teams!

Just wanted to show interest and say this feature is the only thing keeping me from using a paid subscription.

This is one of the more voted ideas here, so I’m sure the dev team are doing their best.

Looking forward for more updates.

Thank you so much for your honest feedback @dude101. It definitely helps the idea to grow even more
