4 years and you still haven't done it. Unbelievable!

who else has? Apple? Tidal? Qobuz? Amazon?

Tidal and Spotify for sure. For example, I stream via a streamer that has Chromecast built- in, I can live with it but the problem is, I wanted a better streamer but Chromecast audio is disappearing from the market and new streamers are barely being put on anymore, therefore Deezer connectivity is getting worse..

Tidal Connect is limited, it doesn’t work with my Echo Studios. Alexa Cast only works with Amazon Music and doesn’t work nearly as well as Spotify Connect. Apple has functionality within its own ecosystem.

My point is that the commenter seems to be shocked that deezer does not have something comparable, when in fact no one does, including Apple and Amazon, who are global tech giants.

It’s an innovative technology, not standard for the industry.

Deezer’s functionality within the Echo device ecosystem is comparable with the industry, which I consider impressive, given the comparative size of the company.

Having said all that, I would love to see a deezer Connect that has all the functionality of Spotify Connect. I’m just not going to be shocked that it’s not a reality, or expect that deezer has the resources or inclination  to accomplish what Apple and Amazon haven’t.

I fully agree that THIS IS A DISASTER that such a huge company like Deezer can not implement a simple protocol that will pass streaming URL from an app on smartphone to the device and that device will play music from that URL.

This is really not a rocket science, but rather a complexity level of a project that could have been done by students on University for Programming class.

TIDAL Connect which is very convenient like Spotify Connect, is getting more and more popular, more and more devices are supporting it and Deezer will start to loose their subscribers who will choose TIDAL for CD quality music instead of Deezer…

Dear Deezer Developers! Please finish Deezer Connect as soon as possible PLEASE !!!

Cheers,
Przemek

Sonos app is mediocre, when it comes to using Deezer through it.

AirPlay is ok, but requires a device with Deezer in the same network and quickly drains battery.

Dear Deezer team, please, find a way to implement Deezer connect to Sonos, at least. If you are able to make it available on other streamers (like Cambridge Audio CXN, for instance), that will be trouly astonishing!

Is anybody out there ?

Anybody? Would really love to interact with my NAD BlueOS streamer through the Deezer app, since  the integrated Deezer functionality in BluOS is really mediocre. I am starting to investigate alternatives to Deezer… after over 7 years of subscription. A transfer would be truly dissappointing

I am a Spotify user and I am trying Deezer because I want the HIFI quality. But I can’t control my Sonos directly in Deezer app!!?? For me the trial is finished without that.

We could really fo with a realistic update on this. I read also in other threads that deezer is experimenting with this, but that has been the case for so l long now that i am not certain it will ever happen. I would love deezer to link with bluos, but have little faith it will come within the next year or two. Such a shame, because i like the service.

I’m trying this out, comparing Deezer to Tidal, Apple Music, Spotify etc, and find it disappointing it’s been on some “TODO” list for the past four years! Deezer, how about a status update of whether you plan to support this or not?

Unfortunately, Deezer's poor connectivity is a major weakness. Unfortunately, the Chromecast connection has not worked for several days. Really bad.

I came from Spotify end of last year and love Deezer but using it via the Sonos app ist just no fun, all good features are missing. Please give us a status update so we know this is worth waiting.

This is indeed taking way too long. It would be great to receive a realistic timeline. I don’t mind waiting, but this silence is just silly. At the same time I have noticed other music streaming apps also don’t communicate very well with their users, so this is probably something that comes with the territory….

Their hiring pretty much gives it away. They hire all kinds of nonessential people, but not developers. I have to doubt the quality and realism of the workloads of their development team, since being a developer, most of these issues are something I know how I’d fix myself, but it’s frustrating that the APIs aren’t open enough that I could just make my own player and forget the garbage Deezer themselves have managed to produce.

Here someone says they're working on remote control (android -> desktop), and that it should be released this year.

Is this legit? Are we talking about the same thing than here? I hope I can ditch the Sonos app very soon!

Here is the list of services that support streaming to Sonos: Stream audio to Sonos from another app | Sonos

I just switched to Deezer from Spotify. I didn’t realize just how much I would miss this feature. The control in the Sonos app is awful. Improvements to the integration within the Sonos app would be helpful but remote control from the Deezer app is the real answer. Spotify had no HiFi content. This would be a slam dunk for Deezer to be able to tout that you can get better quality sound with feature parity compared to Spotify. Please, please, please get this going!!

I am also trying Deezer with a 3 month trial. But not being able to control Sonos from within the Deezer app is a really big downer. Not sure if I will continue after the trial and switch my complete family over from Spotify.

Come one Deezer, add this because people want this.

Don't blame you. I've used Spotify for years and all they really lack is hi res audio. They keep releasing stuff that no one is asking for. So they have their own problems. I've cancelled Deezer and I'm about to cancel Qobuz. Amazon HD is a close 2nd and for some reason I just hate to admit it. I've used all these services back and forth trying to figure out which one I really like. Tidal is a no go as they push hip hop heavily. Their interface and is really great, but every suggestion is rap and that's just not my thing. If Deezer ever gets their act together and give customers what they want, they'd easily be the best streaming service.

Just downloaded the Deezer app but I won't sign up for my free trial as long as there's no connect. It's just a deal breaker for me.

BTW,

Spotify launched their connect 2013, that's 9 years ago!

I used Spotify to access a shared playlist and noticed this feature is available there. I had missed it since rdio folded.

Controlling an instance of a streaming service from another pc or a phone is far superior to:

  • Very buggy chromecast which is reliant on subnets and the blessings of the forest folk. Chromecast relies on bloody HDMI, a bloody TV or an expensive amp.
  • Horrible bluetooth which is re-compressed and drains your phone. The forest folk have to be in a good mood to allow pairing too. Phone calls are a delightful intrusion and the range sucks. As Asterix would say #$@&%*!
  • Arcane DNLA - if I wanted some wonkish shared library I would get a NAS and Sonos. This is a bad fit for Deezer.

My PC has a nice DAC and speakers and I need to control it from my phone or work computer. Using rdio YEARS AGO, I could ask my 4 year old to change the music from his gaming PC. It sounds and works better.

If Deezer have not implemented this in a year, I am shifting to Spotify which is less elegant but this feature is utterly essential to me.

Regards,

Michael Jordan

MacOS - iOS the Connect function works very well!

What do you think when will be available for Win10 desktop app + iOS/Android app the connect function.

That would be great.

Thanks,

Viktor
