Yes @Steve C

If you're referring to the Shuffle My Music button option, yes. That does not include artists who have been favourited in your library :thumbsup_tone2:

There's a discussion going on about this. But I'm unable to provide you with more details at this stage. That's why I really appreciated your comments on the subject because it adds value to the discussion.

What?? Seriously?? Your whole artist catalogue is IGNORED when shuffling music??

What genius decided that that was a good idea?

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard since someone told me that Donald Trump would make a good president.

OF COURSE, shuffling music should include the artists you’ve added to your favourites. That is bleeding obvious.

Hi there, it’s a music service, not the key to ending world hunger. Keep some perspective, relax and perhaps be a bit more polite. Everyone at Deezer is working super hard to please us.

I’ve only been a member for 5 months and all I can say is: good luck getting Apple or Spotify to listen to individual users and implement their feature requests and improvements.

Well, that’s alright, then. What a relief.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, Steve @Steve C

It shuffles all tracks basically, not artists. You see, you can favourite an artist but not like all tracks - they can be recommended to you via Flow or mixes, then you can tell the app if you want to favourite them or not.

But Shuffle My Music is different, it's the specific tracks you marked as favourites.

Have a great end of the year! :v_tone2:

I’ve been a Deezer Premium user for about two months and overall I like it but I can’t but second this tread’s general opinion that the Shuffle feature is not working as expected. Actually it just sucks

I’m using on my own list of favorites while jogging, initially I thought the list was still too short (~80 songs as I was transitioning from the lousy Youtube Music) but now I’ve got around triple that size and I’m still presented with the 10 or 20 songs I’ve added in the beginning.

You should really fix it.

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback @seaan

Fair point! Could you please let us know in what device and app feature you're experiencing this?

Hi,

I have a playlist I am listening to while running on my mobile.

I just play that playlist using the “random” option: the playlist contains 90+ songs.

Unfortunately, in order for this feedback to be complete I should provide more comprehensive statistics. I’m going to monitor more closely the playing patterns of that playlist and report back

Your feedback is really valuable for Deezer to improve.

They are navigating and collecting it here, so keep posting. I do that posting too.

Very valuable indeed @seaan really appreciate the tests you're carrying out, that's the only way we can improve - with the support of our users :thumbsup_tone2:

I think shuffle is generate only one time and it will remain the same, as long as you still play the same album or playlist.

If you want to re-shuffle, play a song that is not in the playlist. then get back to the playlist and play again.

That, for the time being, can be an excellent workaround, @386cz please keep it up and share more of your Deezer findings with us :thumbsup_tone2:

Pretty sure FLOW does the same thing, it's not random at all and is beginning to annoy even though I like most of the song it plays.

It'll get some serious improvements this year @bremg :sunglasses: stay tuned, and for now, thank you for your feedback!

Hi,

I have a similar experience that neither shuffle nor flow is good at sampling from a large range of songs.

The “daily” lists are the same every day---that doesn’t seem to make much sense, either.

Moreover, the order of a shuffled list appears the same every time (it wouldn’t be a very good thing if you would shuffle a deck of playing cards this way).

These effects are especially strong on Google Home music infrastructure, in fact, the “shuffle” icon disappears immediately once you cast the playlist to the Google Home, so I guess that that infrastructure doesn’t have native shuffling.  And when your playlist is already in “shuffled” order, it is in always the same (shuffled) order.  You would want shuffling to take shuffling seriously, and shuffle the list at runtime in a different order with uniform prior over the songs, each time you switch to shuffled mode.  Every programming environment has access to a reasonably good random number generator that can be initialized with a unique seed.
