Unfortunately, after some more listening today, it is clear that the issue of buffering after a song has started persists in 4.27. Bah!

Just FYI, I’m downgrading to Deezer Family until this gets sorted (gapless playback would also be nice), so I won’t be available for debugging efforts. Apols and good luck!

Sorry about that. Could you please try uninstalling the app, and searching for %appdata and deleting any Deezer folder you can find. Restart your computer and then redownload the app, reinstalling it :thumbsup_tone2:

 

OK, I’ve done this. Several times. I am still getting this issue where the music just freezes randomly. Today it has been particularly frequent - I’m listening to 4 songs max before it happens. If I do nothing the music starts again after about 2-3 minutes. It only does this on my PC app, I have no problems streaming to other devices from my phone app.

I just installed Deezert on my laptop. When I play a song and wait for it to finish, the next song doesn't play, and when you press the button to go to the next song or any other song in general, the same song is produced from the beginning. I have to close my account and log in again to choose another song, but the same problem keeps happening again. I don't know what to do to solve this problem.


I’m having this issue and i have tried reinstalling the app. Is there any way to fix it? Doesn’t happen in the browser (Firefox) tho.

On-demand play does not work anymore for free users, only playlists prepared by Deezer, as far as I know, so that could be the reason.

Bug on Mac desktop app v4.33.1.23:

  1. Go to "Playlists"
  2. Scroll down a bit
  3. Open any playlist
  4. Click the "Back" button
  5. The screen scrolls a bit, but we're not back to the list of playlists; sometimes if we click "Back" enough times we are brought to the page we were before doing step 1

It doesn't happen EVERY time, but repeating the process a few times is usually enough.

  1. Yes, having the same issue on Mac with 4.34.0.32. But the back and forward buttons don’t seem to work properly anywhere. In artists it is broken as well. Click on an artist. Then I tried to go back to the artist overview. Nothing happens. If I click multiple times - nothing, too.
    Same for the Podcasts...
  2. Also if I want to sort an existing playlist by “Added on” I sometimes have to click twice and sometimes a single click (as I would expect) is enough. All other sorting options (titel, duration, artist, album) work fine always with just one click.
  3. If I am adding a new mix at the “Mix”-Tab by clicking the “heart-button” it isn’t showing right up. I have to click another Tab to see the change. That seems to be very confusing to me.

I'm double-checking that with our devs @nonstatiq for the time being, could you try cmd + H to hide the app instead of clicking on the cross?

Can confirm this bug. Deezer just got updated to 5.0.0, macOS version is 11.3.1 — although it’s clearly not a problem with macOS version.

Cmd+W also closes the app instead of “minimizing”, which is clearly unwanted behavior — we have Cmd+Q for that.

Desktop stopped working (again) on MacOS, uninstalled it and tried installing the latest. It fails to run as the MacOS security “can’t check the app for malicious software” so blocks it. Made an exception for the new version Deezer, still fails to open fully and crashes out.

 

Re-installed version 4.18.70, that works but is quite old at this stage.

 

Guys, this isn't rocket science, it’s only software development. Android, iOS, Linux, MacOS & Windows all have a simple policies for developers to follow to ensure backward/forward compatibility.

 

Has anyone else had an issue with the newer versions of desktop Deezer on a Mac?

Desktop app. Ever since I have been a customer songs will randomly stop playing saying “playback error”.

Recently (several weeks) when I click on the artist it goes to an error page  retry, but to not avail ! Please fix this.

Are you working on an Apple Silicon version of your app for MacOS?  It currently sucks on M1 MacbookPro running through the Rosetta emulator.

Deezer on Windows no longer respects output device setting.

I have the app set up to play through my hi-fi, and not the default system output. It worked fine until recently.

Now as I launch Deezer app it plays the first song through the default output, not the selected one. After I skip the track it goes back to normal, but it is annoying new bug.

 

This is related either to recent  Deezer updates or Windows 21H1 update or both. Other apps still work fine, so I suspect Deezer.

On latest web UI (may have been present in prior versions), shuffling does not work while casting. Can work around this by enabling shuffle prior to casting. However, once casting, the shuffle button turns off and can’t be turned back on again.

On latest web UI, it’s not possible to re-queue an already played song by dragging in the queue list. The song is skipped over even if placed after the currently playing song, and clicking on the song plays the song above it. Screen recording here.

It seems to have subsided and I coincidentally forgot to screencap it lol. I’ll post an update if the issue reoccurs.

Hi, Jaime, I didn’t try with other browsers. I’ll give it a try someday when it happen again (it doesn’t always happen) and I have the time to spare in tests.

Hello @Alex Spaseni, sounds like you’re using a previous version of the app that indeed had this problem. Use those links to update it to the version that fixed this issue:

Hi, i’m not sure if this is the right place for this but if it isn’t you can move it to the correct place.

It just happened as I shuffled my favourite tracks list.

Do you mean the image of the tracks? Have you reinstalled the app?

I guess he means the repeated “Lithium” tracks by Nirvana populating his play queue after enabling shuffle mode for all of his favorite tracks. There should only be one Lithium track, not a dozen.

@Kiba.Kurosaki Can you reproduce this error, i.e. does it happen every time when you enable shuffle mode for your favorite tracks in the play queue? I just checked mine (same desktop version on Windows 10), and this did not happen. Can you scroll down to the end of the play queue, and do you use a zoomed view bigger than 100% perhaps?

It is broken after upgrading to version 5.0.0 (5.0.0.38).

Managing songs in playlists is a disaster, its so full of bugs. 

Do the following

  1. add about 20 songs to a playlist
  2. select a manual order
  3. start dragging some songs around
  4. start deleting some songs => sometimes delete does not work => refresh
  5. drag more around
  6. songs start to get duplicated in the playlist

For the life of me I don’t know why you guys don’t have a beta program. Your releases have bugs that would have been picked up by any tester.

 

Until the app behavior is fixed, I am back to nativefier. It’s not as polished as the official wrapper but at least it works. For those wondering, it’s easy to install on a Mac, just fire up the terminal and input nativefier --name Deezer  https://www.deezer.com/en/
