mmm... Well to me it sounds like the right behavior. The music should keep playing when you exit the app unless you pause it first.

Hi @AlliB83, are you sure you are not just minimising the app? You need to completely close the app for it to stop playing music. Does that help?
how can you close the app, I can't find the exit/close button??

Hi @Eli.Benyamini

I'm on Android and I have to stop the music first. I can pull down from the top and hit pause before closing the app.
and where is the close/exit button in the app ?

once you pause the music, if you're on android hit the square (lower right button) to cascade your open apps and swipe it away.
Not working for me.
so there is no exit button in the app?

Hi @Eli.Benyamini

so you're using Android? You're pausing the music, then when you hit the square button (lower right hand side) and the apps you have open cascade, when you swipe it away what happens?
The app still shows on the top like it is open

sorry I now know what you mean. you can then swipe that away also (it will automatically disappear after a short time if the app is not playing music on it's own anyway)
OK thanks

@Eli.Benyamini is you question answered or do you still have the issue you mentioned first after you closed the app?

So is Deezer still playing music after you completely shut down the app?
Apparently this is a "Feature" After becoming frustrated with the app on my Galaxy S8 I contacted support and they said the designed way to stop music is to pause. Which is silly... then there is now way to shut down the app. The notification panel doesnt allow a stop or close. And as stated above if you force stop the app while music is streaming the audio continues to play and you have to restart your phone. Might be time to go back to Spotify if they don't resolve some of these issues soon. If you are in a smart connected home with Google Home or ChromeCast there is no way to stop the app from casting now through the app itself as well.
Hi! Same problem here. Can NOT close the app on android. Cant find no EXIT button either. VERY BAD !! had to restart the phone to get it to stop. ( Samsung A8 )

Uninstalled the whole app....

Are you guys talking about the Android "close all" feature? Unfortunately isn't something we can't change as this is a Android feature, but we are happy to pass the feedback on to our devs 😉 Please confirm if is this what you mean.
This is such a pain!!
It was never an issue until I updated the software on my Samsung A5 last week; seriously considering cancelled my subscription and going back to Spotify!
It's not ok that it doesn't close when you "close all apps" and having to restart the phone each time is not realistic.

Is this being resolved?

Yes!!!

"Close All Apps" worked until the latest software update (mine anyway).
Whatever the issue is, it needs to be addressed for your App.
Seems ridiculous but the only way is to restart the phone!

Hi @Wa-Ray if you just pause the song and then close the app is that not helping? Are you unable to close the app at all?
I am a new user to Deezer and subscribed for a family package.

We installed the apps on our Android phones and immediately found that there is quit button on the app.

This is extremely annoying and intrusive and falls in the category of SPAM.

If I want to quite an app, I should be able to do so by clicking a cross or swiping it. The way all the other apps works.

On my Note 5, it is the easiest to get out of it by opening the app browser and kill it there.

On the newer phones however, this trick for some reason does not work cleanly.

For starters then. Why does this app not at least have it's own quit button like all other apps?

Hi there @Koosjr

Please check the tips above which should help as a workaround. Our devs are also looking into this 😉

last week my phone got some updates (i dont know if deezer was included) and now im facing this problem.

before the updates, when opening the app list and swiping deezer app away, music would stop as the app was closed in the process (or looked like closed).

now, music persists even after swiping the deezer app away.

if i perform this action, i want the app to close completely, i dont want it playing on background. i want it closed, memory freed for something else, no confirmations, nothing else’happening. for playing in background, i just minimize it.

all the other apps act liken this unless i permit them. deezer dont even ask for my preferences and havent seen a settings tab for that yet.

swiping away an app from the running apps list is a practical way to close apps fast when you need it and since deezer has no quit/close button, ive used the swiping away operation to close it., now, even that is being denied.

could you please instruct me how to proceed to get it working properly?

Hi there @xdiegox

Sorry about that. Have you tried reinstalling our app to see if it helps? Also, please let me know which version you've got.
