My last.fm account is tied to the account deezer, but recently the tracks began to scrobble in a few hours, the listening time does not match, the songs go one by one with an interval of about a minute (with a duration of 3-4-5-6-7 tracks minutes). The problem is present in both the mobile application and the desktop.

Deezer was not updated (The latest available version is used everywhere). Please, fix it!

The other day, the deezer application has been updated, but the problem has remained (on the screenshot, one track from the album scrolled 26 times, although all the tracks played one at a time, and this one is no exception).
When will the problem be solved? Alternative ways of scrobbling for ios (online listening) I do not know.

It's unlikely that Last.fm will fix anything, as the internal Deezer implementation does not seem to be working correctly anymore. While trying to connect to my Last.fm profile for authentication of the internal Deezer scrobbling option, I got this error message on the first try:

"Invalid API key. If you are a third party developer see our authentication how-to to find out more."

So it is possible that your developers may have to check if their Last.fm API key is still valid, if this error message is true. Or maybe they changed something else recently which causes the problems now.

I confirm I have this issue too - on the desktop beta app (on Windows) v0.9.1. Started to misbehave perhaps two weeks ago or so. Will be glad to provide more information about the issue as needed, on that app or the mobile Android beta.

Hi @Jean-Baptite Vincey, I use deezer on web and on mobile app. I'm not using any third party scrobbling app. I connected my deezer and last.fm accounts using the info ion this link (in spanish https://support.deezer.com/hc/es/articles/201331201-Conectarse-a-Last-fm) from then on (about a year ago) all my played tracks on deezer are scrobbled to last.fm, some of the randomly getting between 5 to 10 scrobbles per song played (most of the times with two songs in a row, meaning 20 scrobbles, 10 per song, and 18 duplicates). I'm not sure if this happens only with my song on mobile, but now that you mention it, it might be so as I don't recall having this issue with my web playing music.

Thanks for reporting this problem. Is this related to the Android app? Normally last.fm integration is only on Deezer website.

I'm using Deezer premium and have it chained with my last.fm account, and there is a bug that seems to be happening at totally random times: there are songs that get scrobbled at least 10 times on last.fm. I've also use Musicbee and youtube, and this never happens, so I'm totally convinced this is a Deezer thing. There are other pages around the Internet with info regarding this problem with other users, read this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/deezer/comments/8eh759/when_will_deezer_fix_the_multiple_lastfm/

@eames thanks for linking the corresponding discussion in the Last.fm forum! I'm assuming Last.fm is looking into this now as well since it was reported there.
As @bluezzbastardzz explained, the scrobbler browser extension should still work - can you use this workaround?

Sorry. I duplicated this error in the appropriate topic: https://en.deezercommunity.com/troubleshooting-and-tips-4/scrobble-last-fm-697

I think my topic can be closed?

At the moment the internal scrobbling option of Deezer seems to be broken, it only scrobbled the first track for me using their web player, then nothing, then after about half an hour the second track I played, but with three duplicates, so something is definitely wrong.

You could try to use external scrobbling apps supporting Deezer in the meantime, e.g. the Last.fm web scrobbler browser extension for their web player. I think the official Last.fm Android app can also scrobble Deezer if you enable it in its settings.

I suggested reinstalling to see if it could be something with the app. Scrobble is a LastFM feature and it's always good trying everything to see where the issue comes from.

Hi @Kornél Muhi, I'm not sure if it's possible to scrobble while being offline, perhaps LastFM can answer this question? Have your reinstalled the desktop app?

Having issues with the desktop app as well, it's scrobbling tracks with a huge delay (more than an hour) and even does things randomly: skipped track has been scrobbled, a track has been scrobbled 6 (!) times even though I've listened to it once (see https://pasteboard.co/HuUwiRq.png) 😞

@Rafael. Can you please confirm if scrobbling while being offline is not supported by Deezer? I have tried this as well and when I came back online it didn't push my offline listening history to Last.fm.

Hello,
Yes, I've seen the answers 🙂 I have listened to full songs and have not seen them scrobbled even after multiple minutes. Today it seems to work (from mobile), will keep an eye on it using multiple platforms in the coming days. Thanks!

Hi @Kornél Muhi, have you seen @bluezzbastardzz 's answers above? He gave a few answers that it may help you!

I have tried to unlink/link the last.fm account and log out/log in multiple times, but no avail... Listened to multiple songs in a row, none of them got scrobbled. Also tried from mobile and the desktop app, none of them work. I seriously hoped I found an alternative for Spotify that's worth the money but it does not seem to be a seamless transition... 😞

See my former reply, you will only notice that a song has scrobbled from Deezer's internal option after the next track has started. Furthermore mobile scrobbling should work with the activated internal option in the web player, too, i.e. you do not have to nor cannot enable it in the mobile app.

Anyone else having the same problem?

I have only tried the web player as of now (I can overcome this with a scrobbler extension in the browser), does anyone have experience with scrobbling on the mobile app?

Thanks,

I haven't seen any problem like this yet... Have you tried disconnect and then connect again?

I'm checking scrobbling with the web player, and it works for me right now. Keep in mind that Deezer's internal scrobbling submits a scrobble at the end of a track, not while playing it and/or after 50% track length, nor does it show as "Scrobbling now" on your Last.fm profile.

If you use Chrome, you can also install the browser extension Web Scrobbler to scrobble from Deezer, by the way.
