Anyone else had an email, stating there will be an increase in monthly subscription, from November, of £2.00? Apparently, Deezer are investing in HiFi quality sound, as a sweetener. I for one, will be moving on elsewhere

Hello, @whenthesunhits and @Deano12345. We understand your frustration, please feel free to contact our Support to discuss your options as they will be able to look into your personal account and help your particular case. You only pass to Hifi when your subscription upgrades, so keep that in mind.

I have contacted support who informed me that it was a mistake on the email and i should have been quoted £3 per month and not £2 per month. Apparently its a mistake but i will have to pay the £3 and not the £2 quoted in the email.

That’s false advertising then .

Perhaps contact them and see if they can sell at $2 increase only for 6 months.

Cancelled instead

I cancelled from when I first detected this foolishness.

After reading this further insult, I will not be renewing/resuming the services. I have found an alternative, so will be deleting the app this week.

You guys are so lucky cause they increased 2 dollars on your subscription plan. In our region, the price plans jumped from 3.99 to 13.99 usd. What the hell man!!!!!

so need your opinion please… which one should I be switching to.. Spotify or YouTube music?

Need your opinions please.

thanks.

Our will be changes from 5.99 to 10.99. Almost two times more!

I don't care about HiFi. But I can imagine pay full price if you:

Make available radio stations in my market

Add all important and popular podcasts in CZ language

Rewrite from scratch your buggy desktop app

This is more important for me, then better audio quality.

I have been paying £14.99 for the family bundle from at least 2018. December charge was £17.99 and now for this month £21 f******g 99. I am sorry but apart from adding the mood changer in flow nothing has changed.

I Will be leaving my subscription as this is ridiculous.

Pretty loud minority that’s missing the point here - got plenty of that in the world recently.

I was thinking about getting a Deezer subscription for a while now - then I saw that HiFi got merged into Premium, the trial period lengthened from 1 to 3 months, and all this only “increased” 1€ in price, but in fact (cause it’s now essentially HiFi) decreased by 4€ - which is great value and a fantastic surprise, so I instantly subbed.

I’ve noticed this on the German community: For existing customers, everything remains as before: They continue to pay the lower subscription price, but also do not have hi-fi quality. An upgrade to the new price including hi-fi quality is possible.( https://de.deezercommunity.com/abos-und-bezahlungen-141/preisanpassung-fuer-neukund-innen-26198 )

As Deezer is usually a decent company, I take it that this choice is extended to all users so that they can keep their lower priced plan and not just those who speak German as their native tongue?

You are right @Zayn-T, existing customers can continue to pay their lower subscription price but they won’t get HiFi quality.
Thanks :)

Thanks for confirming @Jaime. It would have seemed unfair if certain rules apply to some countries and not others.

Just to add to what @RQK has said above, I’m very similar and seen a big drop in my annual subscription price from about £134 to £107. Overall I’m pretty happy with Deezer along with some things that bug me, but no streaming service is perfect.

Well, I cancelled straight away and have never looked back, don't miss Deezer at all and with the £18 I save every month I buy an album on vinyl 👍🏻

Thanks Deezer 🤣

Hi all, I understand it might be frustrating to receive a short notice informing a price increase.

The music industry has changed very rapidly and dramatically this year. Deezer is the only independent global challenger left in the audio streaming industry and we have to adapt to the realities of the market.

Unfortunately, that means that we were a bit hasty with our comments in May.  We need to make sure we can continue to provide listeners with unique features, a great listening experience and the best curated content in the world.

That’s why we’ve chosen to make HiFi part of all our subscriptions in Great Britain and to adjust the price point.

Now everyone has the option to enjoy music the way that artists intended it to be heard, while having access to our full HiFi catalog of 70 million tracks as well as additional benefits like the 360 by Deezer app.

Please get in touch with our Deezer Support Team and one of our agents will be able to help and discuss your options.

Thanks :nerd:

Yeah, but isn't almost doubling the price an exaggeration? An individual plan was $5.99 in Venezuela (as it is with any other service in my country) and now it's $10.99. Do you think people in my country or many others hold $10.99 the same way Americans, for example, do? What happened with regional prices? If there was going to be an increase it had to be proportional according to regions.

You are right @Zayn-T, existing customers can continue to pay their lower subscription price but they won’t get HiFi quality.

@Jaime. But why is it that poorer countries then saw an almost double increase in price? Our individual plan was $5.99 and now it's $10.99. We're not the US. $5.99 may sound cheap, but in my country it's a difficult thing to get. Isn't the idea of regional pricing considering different countries' situations and context? Every other service has different prices according to region.

@JJST I understand that you’re frustrated about the price increases. First of all, I wanted to say thank you for supporting Deezer.
Our industry can change very quickly, sometimes overnight, and some of our competitors are now providing HiFi quality sound to all of their users. Also we got a new CEO last year, who brought a new vision to the company and these changes reflect the strategic work that he and the executive team have been doing since he joined.

That’s why we have taken a decision to increase our prices. The reason that we’ve done it is simple - we want all of our users to have access to HiFi by default. We also want to be able to pay artists more and support the industry better.
Deezer is a challenger and as such we need to remain flexible, constantly try new things, take some risks, and adapt fast.
Thanks :)

Hey all!

Deezer delivers the new subscriptions including HiFi. At the same time, the classic subscription 'Deezer HiFi' is disappearing.

Previous HiFi customers effectively experience a price reduction.

Previous premium customers get HiFi sound for a small surcharge.

Some users find it annoying that Premium will no longer be available without HiFi. But obviously the market wants it that way or a large part of the customers.

I can't imagine that Spotify prices will stay stable forever.

In the end, the customers decide how the streaming market will develop. :smirk:

@dee_dirk  I guess Spotify’s prices won’t stay stable forever, but at least the increase needs to be proportional according to regional prices. Standardized prices for every country makes no sense.

@Jaime. Well, it’s been a good little more than a year :disappointed:

I've just read that the price increased. I wouldn't mind that you'll charge a few more bucks a month if the service was good but it's not the case!! It's actually worse than others!!! For years we're asking and pleading for gapless playback and nothing! Asking for remote control option - nothing!! The desktop app is filled with bugs and there's no change to that no updates! What are you raising the price for?!

Bad move and a poor decision Deezer!

I have yearly hifi subscription till july. If the price will not go back down I will not renew it at Deezer unfortunately.

Too bad! I love this company :(

In Greece from 6.99€ to 10.99€ I'm a premium customer since 2017 and the new prices is ridiculous, Switch to Spotify.

About the same here in Israel. They doubled the prices all around this area!! Nothing justifies this.

I'm off to Tidal's Hifi.

Hey Deezer,

I get it, you want to raise the price and that’s ok BUT!!

the prices defer from region to region. which means that you should raise the price in each region accordingly to what they used to pay. what you are doing is a major damage to your fans but primarily to your name in this market.

It’s not too late to admit your mistake and fix it.

Thank you (there’s a lot of work to do on the desktop app as well… maybe you should attend to this more than raising the prices for now)

Thank you for service before you changed the price. It is expensive than other music service. I’m used Deezer like 3 years, because it was very convenient, but now I’ll change to Spotify or Apple Music. It is not so comfortable for me, but price for Deezer is very now.
