I've tried all the music streaming services to see if I can sort my favorite artists somewhere. There is no way to do that anywhere, it's ridiculous. I like many types of music, so my Favourites is a complete mess. The built-in sort modes are inefficient. I hope deezer (or one of the others) comes out with this feature soon.
I have countless playlists too and would love to sort or categorise them into folders, groups, collections and tag them, or at least flag them with color assignments.
It’s also quite annoying that finding and selecting the desired playlist when scrolling through them, as well as using the search option, can take too much time. I almost use playlists only and would like to have a quick find feature the Home page or on a separate footer page.
It would be nice to have customizable buttons that link to folders or collections of playlists. This way you can create mood or theme based selections. Using tags would add a lot more flexibility and control I guess.
On de playlist page it would be nice if you scroll down, you get an alphabet scroll bar to quickly move to the right letter since they are ordered alphabetically.
It would also be great if you could add a few shortcut buttons on the home page that link to specific playlists, groups or folders.
it's been six years. this is literally just the playlist feature, but more. get up and do something. i swear if i ever get rich enough im making a streaming service that doesnt just sit there and refuse to take feedback on features it'd take like. probably 20 minutes including lunch for an experienced programmer to write the code for. grain of salt, im not an experienced programmer, but this doesnt seem like a hard feature to add. it has been six years.
If you just make a little programming: to add tags or put into groups our favourite albums for example would be great! Tags would be the most simple for artists, albums and playlists.
For example I add custom “electronic chill” tag to my favourite artists or albums, this would be much more easy to navigate and also to get an idea what to listen of my tons of favourites.
Like you have a shelf of CD-s, and you organize them by genre, or how much you love them, or by colour :)
New to Deezer and kinda shocked they don’t have the functionality to make folders for your playlists. As an old time Spotify user, please please please add some kind of folder functionality to your service. I have hella playlists and it’s confusing trying to find the one I want, missing that folder functionality I had on Spotify right about now…
Yes please! I’ve been using Deezer playlists to setup ambient music for roleplaying game sessions and this means my number of playlist just skyrockets. I’d like to set up individual playlists for each game, setting, mood, scene, etc. They all end up mixed with my personal everyday playlists with no way to sort them other than in alphabetical order. I’d really love the ability to put them all aside in one big folder, and then be able to organize them with individual folder for each of the game they’re supposed to go with. I also have no other way to display them than the big square layout. I could really use a more compact list layout for quicker access during a play session. So far my best option for quick-launching playlists during games has been to write a separate text document with links to each playlists. This is not ideal, obivously, and also a lot of work just to get around the lack of such a basic feature as folders.
Hoping for folders in the not too distant future :)
This is an absolute showstopper for me. I just imported my data from Spotify and it’s unmanageable with Deezer. I have 140 playlists, a ton of them are audio dramas that belong to the same artists.
It’s a shame that this hasn’t been implemented in 6 years. I know that adding folders can be a major refactoring and data migration, but not multiple years.
I find it hard to believe that this request has been ongoing for six years. While not essential, in today's world of streaming services, what distinguishes one service from another is not the number of tracks or the quality of the files, as these are usually similar across different services. The user experience is what truly matters, as the small details can either drive a user crazy or make them love the app. With so much music available at our fingertips, it would be great to have the ability to sort and categorize it according to our preferences. One easy way to do that is by using folders. Spotify, Tidal, and Apple Music already allow their users to utilize folders, which is why I strongly believe that Deezer should do the same.
How about tags instead/in addition to folders? This way, each playlist can have multiple attributes and users just need to filter for the tag they are interested in for the moment. I am considering to leave Deezer again without tags or folders for playlists.
Hi @destywhip, I understand how useful folders would be for organizing playlists, and I'm sorry our app doesn't support this feature yet.
Your feedback is valuable, and I'll make sure to share it with our development team.
Thank you for your input!
Why is this not a thing yet? It would revolutionize the way we use Deezer and frankly put, it would make Deezer hard to live without, and downloading libraries completely obsolete. Yet, we still don’t have folder structures in sight for 6 years since request.
What obstacles do devs face that makes this feature so difficult to incorporate into desktop app? Is there any third-party tools/add-on that enables this feature? (if allowed to be discussed in a constructive manor)
The only way is to keep pushing this the way dark mode was pushed couple years ago for example. We had so so many feedback that Deezer decided to include that in the app.
Can’t tell if the implementation of such feature would need the recode of the app to accommodate such structure, and I am not aware of any third-part that could enable such feature.
Sure, happy to see a constructive discussion about this topic. The more people get fan of this idea, higher are the chances of be implemented in the future.

Still, a six-year discussion is a very long one to say the least.
I’m with the other users with this. I’ve been a long time Spotify user and this feature was in the desktop app for years before I moved to Deezer. So please, add a way to organize playlists in a way that suits evey users.
