Your artist pages aren’t all structured the same. I’ve noticed this several times and most recently was on Nosaj Thing’s artist page and none of their albums are shown anywhere. You do have their albums on your platform, though. Why are they not shown on the album page like other artists? Please fix this.

It might be because there are not marked as official albums in our system.
Could you please let me know the URL’s of the tracks/albums you are mentioning in order to investigate?
Thanks

Hi Jamie, if you look up the artist most of the albums that should be under “albums” are at the bottom under “more albums”. A few of those are EPs or singles though. I’d say compare it to their discography on wikipedia or discogs or whatever other resources you have.

See here

@Jaime.  @awsteenoh is right

There is no in discography of Nosaj Thing’s section  Albums .

Only if you scroll down there is only More albums .

Every artist have first in discography Albums and then Feauterd in etc.

Thank you for clarifying with those screen shots. That’s exactly what I mean. I appreciate it.

also, I just noticed that “more albums” isn’t even shown at all on the artist profile on ios. So even if you look for it, you can’t access any of nosaj thing’s albums on ios app.

Hey @awsteenoh @Nina Nebo I have updated the artist page.
Could you please check and let me know if the problem is fixed now?
I can see all the singles first on my side.
Thanks

Fixed on both macOS app and iOS app. Thank you!

Will this apply to all artists or just Nosaj Thing?

Unfortunately it won’t apply automatically to all artists. I can try to help with any other artists with a similar problem if you or any other users report it here.
Otherwise, you can always report it directly on the app and our music team will take care of it.
Thanks

@Jaime.

now show Album first 👍

Nick hakim’s discography has this problem too. Can you do an overall survey on this issue across all artists? Or start paying me? I am not looking for this problem specifically but I have encountered this in just a few hours of regular use of your platform. Not acceptable.

@awsteenoh would be great to have a bot or an algorithm looking for it but I am afraid it is not possible yet.
I have updated Nikki Hakim’s page, but could not find the song you mentioned for Palmbomen.
Thank you very much for your help.

@Jaime. Why can't Deezer simply display ALL albums that belong to the artist in their discography? There's no need to add bots. Just show all the artist's albums on their profiles, like EVERY other streaming platform does. Deezer is the ONLY streaming service that can't provide and display artists' albums on their pages properly. This leads to missing albums and singles, making them difficult to find. I noticed this problem exists since 2020!

Yes, the "More albums" sections are a mess and never count as their artists' latest release. I remember when Deezer fixed this exact same issue for all artists three years ago or so. They are capable of it, but here we go again.
They removed the "More albums" section from all artist pages about a month ago. That is further proof they can find them and massively edit all the artists pages, if they just want to.
But Albums, EPs, Singles, etc. that were under the "More albums" section are hidden now. They are still on the Deezer catalog, if you search for them, but no longer visible on their respective artist pages.
It is so weird not being able to find an album on the artist page that opens from the album itself. As a serious flaw in their system, it should have been a high priority; instead, it has been almost six months.

@Random007 @Marcormark I have passed your feedback to our team and will come back to you if there is any update.
Thanks

@Jaime. thank you for passing it further. In the meantime, I would like to show you how big this problem is.

Rihanna (https://www.deezer.com/en/artist/564) is another artist who is missing a lot of albums on her discography page. These are all the releases I’ve found so far:

NONE of them are appearing under the "Albums," "EPs," or "Singles" categories (at least in my country). The only way to find these releases, as @Marcormark mentioned, is by searching for them (example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WujYSSa2iMY). Do you think it’s normal not to show 33 Rihanna’s albums on her official profile page?

EVERY album provided by a distributor or label should be automatically added to the artist’s page. Hiding them is not a good idea. How can people who are not familiar with the artist discover their complete discography if numerous releases are missing?

This tremendous bug has existed for a long time and hasn’t been prioritized to be fixed in the first place. It’s sad to say, but because of this, I decided to leave Deezer in 2021 for Spotify, which at least shows ALL the releases on the artist’s page and doesn’t hide any of them. A while ago, I came back to check if something had changed, but as I can see, developers have done nothing to fix this issue. This is a fundamental feature, and it is disappointing that your service is unable to display artists’ albums, EPs, and singles accurately.

@Random007 I just checked and I could see all the albums that you mentioned listed under the relevant section.
Could you please try again and let me know if it works for you?
All your feedback has been very useful.
Thanks again :)

@Jaime. all the releases I can see are on the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WujYSSa2iMY&t=8s. The ones I provided above are not visible on the artist’s page. (I use Web Player.)

  1. Could you provide a screenshot to prove that you are able to see them?
  2. Maybe try viewing the artist's page as a guest/normal user (log out of your DEV account). Then you will see that they are not visible.

The inconsistency in artist pages, like Nosaj Thing's, is likely due to variations in how information is structured and updated. It could be an oversight or a technical issue. I recommend contacting the platform's support team to address and rectify the issue.

Thanks @Random007 for your feedback.
Could you please check again and let me know if it’s good now?
Apologies for the inconvenience

@Jaime. Yes, I can see them now, thank you. Could you provide precise answers to these questions:

  1. Why were these releases not visible before? What prevented users from seeing them?
  2. How did they ‘magically’ appear on the artist page now? Did you add them manually?

I would really like to understand why this is happening to dozens of artists.

We do assign automatically albums to artist pages on based the information provided by our main partners. In some edge cases, a human check is made to validate that the album was assigned to the correct artist page. Our team is committed and working hard to making this process smoother, making sure official albums are available quickly to you while preventing unofficial albums from being displayed.
Thanks

@Jaime. if I understand correctly, most of releases are displayed automatically, however some of the official artists’ albums provided by the distributors and labels are somehow marked as unofficial by Deezer, thus they are hidden, and they need to be marked as official by the metadata team to be displayed on the artists’ pages?

It seems that the same album, which is marked as official (is visible) across all streaming platforms, is considered unofficial by Deezer alone, leading to it not being shown on the artist’s page. Why does this happen? It doesn’t make sense.

Many big artists are missing dozens of releases, as confirmed by user reports about missing albums (for instance, this topic). I had been waiting for 4 years for the OFFICIAL Rihanna’s releases that I listed previously to be displayed on her page. Without my complaint and your intervention, they would still be hidden. Do you think this is normal?!

I know you won’t listen to me, but the solution for fixing all artists’ missing albums is very simple. Instead of unhiding releases reported by users that are not being displayed, mark all of them as official no matter what. ONLY THEN, if some releases were incorrect, users could report them, and you would have a chance to hide/fix them. It’s easier to report incorrect releases than to report that some official ones are not visible.

I believe most of us would prefer to see ALL artist’s albums, even with some incorrect releases, rather than not being able to see some official ones because Deezer marked them as unofficial…

We do appreciate your feedback and want to assure you that we'll take it into account: our product team is in the loop and is actively working on a solution currently, including the assessment of your suggestions. Meanwhile, please be mindful that your solution might not fit the needs of all users.
Thank you for your patience and understanding
