Transferring Downloaded music to a new device

I am switching to a new mobile, is there a way to transfer all my “Downloaded music” from the old device?

Other posts about this are either old or do no address this exact situation, so I took de liberty to ask again.

I prefer not to convert to MP3, as I like to use Deezer as my one and only music source.

This is 8.0.4.108 on Android (both mobiles).

Many thanks!

Hello there @acalgomes

downloads are device-specific, so the short answer is no.

The longer answer is that whatever playlists, albums, etc you have downloaded can easily be downloaded to your new device. Seeing as how you have all the downloads on the old phone, it should be easy to refer to that list when downloading on your new device. Just log into deezer on the new phone and download whatever you need.

the deezer support page for downloads and offline listening is still valid → https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115003884605-Listen-To-Deezer-Offline

Many thanks for your clear and complete answer @GropplerZorn!

It is certainly easy, but it will take a lot of time: I have 189 downloaded songs, about 20 albums so.

If Deezer can import favorites from a lot of other apps, why not from my own “Downloaded music” list? Will save a lot of time for their users!

Thanks again, keep rolling!

Because the copyright holders aka labels demand this from all streaming sites, the downloads of their music files must be hidden in a secure location on one device only for offline listening. And if the user owns several devices, the number of allowed devices must be limited. So you have to download your playlists for offline listening again with a new device. That is also why you have to redownload them if you want to change their audio quality on your device.

Thanks for your reply @bluezzbastardzz!

Yes, that is understandable, although Deezer recommends Deekeper to convert these files to mp3…

No, this don't have to do with listening rights. It is just a matter of Deezer making it simpler for me to keep my “Downloaded music” in a new device (if I want to), once I am already allowed to re-download everything. Like importing favorites from other apps.

Anyway, there is an open idea for this here, missing votes! Download all albums with one click | Deezer Community, bringing music lovers together
