The desktop app closes unexpectedly every 10 minutes or so.  It happens regardless of the actions the app is doing (streaming music, playing downloaded music, remaining idle).  I first detected the issue on June 13th 2022, but had not used the desktop app for a couple of weeks, so the bug can be older.  The last update from the Windows Store was on May 30th and I am running version 5.30.250.

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues?

Has the development team identified the issue?

@fVoss

Which windows version are you using?

Try to deinstall Deezer desktop app, restart computer and reinstall  the app from MS appstore.
Also installed security software like firewall or virus scanner could be a reason for crashing Deezer app.
Is there such software on your system?

Thanks for your reply @Superschlumpf

@fVoss

Which windows version are you using?

Edition    Windows 11 Pro
Version    22H2
Installed on    ‎16/‎05/‎2022
OS build    22621.160
Serial number    002450382757
Experience    Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22632.1000.0

Try to deinstall Deezer desktop app, restart computer and reinstall  the app from MS appstore.

I would avoid having to de- and reinstall the app since y have a large library of downloaded music that would take me a while to download again.  I currently have the MS Appstore version installed.

Also installed security software like firewall or virus scanner could be a reason for crashing Deezer app.
Is there such software on your system?

I only have Windows Defender and have not changed any settings lately that could have started causing trouble with Deezer.

Hey @fVoss

I see no alternative to a new installation. However, I would not take the version from the MS Store but the installation file from the Deezer server directly:

Thanks @dee_dirk.  I think I will wait for version 5.30.260 to be available in the Windows Store hoping the issue will be fixed with the update and use the browser-based version in the meantime.

@fVoss

I agree with @dee_dirk that a reinstall would give the highest chance. But also can understand you to avoid loosing all your downloads.
So in order your troubleshooting steps could be:

  1. wait for updated app version on MS appstore.
  2. take updated version from direct link.
  3. reinstall version from MS appstore.
  4. reinstall version from direct link.
  5. if 1-4 don’t help check possible win11 settings.
