I see here that Heos users got same issues as other Deezer “HiFi” users on other systems. Myself use Bluesound and got same issues . Instread of fingerpointing to eachother better take care and work on a solusion for all these “HiFi” users. You take our money but not deliver what we pay for to use on our expensive devices!!

Amazon just outpaced Deezer - HQ available on HEOS range ...

Had to cancel my HiFi subscription and give up on Deezer as well due to this. What is the point of HiFi subscription if we cannot use it with the equipment designed for HiFi listening?


Hopefully you guys sort this out before Spotify releases HiFi support which they announced. I imagine they will be smart enough to ensure integration with HEOS devices to begin with.

As a software engineer i find it outright unbelievable that this feature takes more than 3 days to complete, and i am being grateful here. How hard can it be to check if a user has active HiFi subscription and if so play FLAC otherwise use mp3 ? There is already HEOS-Deezer integration, not like everything has to be done from scratch.

Even the option where you directly cast to Heos devices should not possibly take more than a couple of days…

We cannot even get an ETA for this, really unbelievable.

Thanks for reaching out. Can you find our TV app for your LG TV? Is the TV plugged into the Denon? iPhone loses quality when casting at the moment, but we're working on a new Cast integration that might help you, considering your devices.

LG app supports HiFi deezer? I’ll try.

We're pretty much eager to provide our users with FLAC streaming but we're depending on HEOS at the moment. Hopefully their devs can find the availability to make the required adjustments :pray_tone2:

Great, but I think this hasn’t been mentioned or announced anywhere yet, or am I wrong? Anyway, @e1n yes you can, and your question was not stupid at all. :wink: In the meantime I have also read about new iPhones and iOS versions supporting the FLAC format out of the box (e.g. with local FLAC files) which did not work for a long time either.

Thank you for reaching out to us about this.

Please refer to HEOS support for that. Our FLAC streaming is enabled for them, but if their app doesn't support it on their side, there's nothing we can do.

The good news is that our developers are up and ready to assist their counterparts at HEOS in case they need anything :thumbsup_tone2:

Thanks for your patience. We understand your frustration, and we apologise you're unable to stream on HiFi to your device at the moment.

Could you please confirm if the Marantz has compatibility with Chromecast? We're working on a new integration that will cast to certain devices in FLAC :thumbsup_tone2:

Thank you for your comments. Sorry you feel that way.

As our devices' page shows here, HEOS devices don't support HiFi. The community serves to help users with sharing information and helpful tips. That's why we start discussions and ask questions about every user experience - there are too many versions of a specific device, for instance.

That doesn't stop you from enjoying music in FLAC via your mobile phone or compatible speakers, as you can see from the page I mentioned above. We're unable to offer the subscription under the requirement of all devices being compatible. Thank you for your understanding.

Hi @Petr Krenzelok no, Rudi is not a bot. He is my lovely colleague who is working from home while taking care of two little children - which can be overwhelming sometimes. We do understand your frustration regarding this integration and Rudi is trying very much to get all your voices heard by our Product managers :wink:

Hi @HurdyGurdy1 yes, Deezer would have to work a lot on Deezer HiFi for Denon HEOS. Our developers have a whole list of technical features and integrations to be worked on - as you can imagine - and unfortunately Denon HEOS is not very high on the priority list as it does not concern a large group of Deezer users worldwide. Devices that are used a lot worldwide are always at the top of that list. We are very sorry about that. Rudi is just trying very much to get all your voices heard by our Product managers so we can change that :wink:

If you want to prove that you are not just giving polite answers perhaps you could tell us when was the last contact between Deezer and Denon and what was the last technical issue discussed. I am sure that among us, the clients, are some technical people that can "smell" the "bull-shiting" (pardon me!) OR, even better help you, us! 2 EURO may not seem much from Premium to HiFi, but I am sure that Heos users number is not small and this means more money that can go elsewhere, Tidal, Amazon...

They've given more details to our developers @Ean666 but no timescale. They need to develop the app to enable HiFi users to get FLAC streaming automatically - so no option to choose quality, but if you're HiFi, it would be set to the max (FLAC) automatically :thumbsup_tone2:

Thank you for your honest feedback. There's also information which is commercially sensitive and cannot be shared.

But in sum, that was the last contact with HEOS, they're able to work on a feature which will adjust the audio quality according to the Deezer subscription (not give the option for the user to choose, for example). But that's development required on their side, so they need to add to their plans and that needs to be prioritised. I'm unable to give our community an answer on their development or plans.

There are other several manufacturer's who decide to add Deezer support to their equipment, via the public API and SDKs we have available for developers. They need to be taken accountable for this, not Deezer - unless it's a partnership where we actually contribute with our development too.

    If I look back in this thread, around 2 years ago (around May 2019), the first questions about Denon support started. Since then, I have only seen the plea to hold a little longer, but without any concrete date or commitment from Deezer side or any explanation of what is really missing.

 

 

Just forget it and switch to a serious provider. Deezer + Denon/Marantz obviously don’t mix. It’s something like oil and water. :D

I’ve been naively hopeful for quite a while that HiFi would be supported on Deezer and it took me a really, really long time to realize that this just won’t be happening. Ever! Give yourself a break and switch to something that actually works.
