Deezer Desktop App - does not keep me logged in and too many Captchas

For some reason the desktop app (OS 😵 doesn’t keep me logged in, so I periodically need to sign in again.

Doing so requires spending 2-3 minutes clicking on pictures of traffic lights and fire hydrants.

This is absolutely ludicrous behaviour for a *desktop* app. Honestly, the desktop app shouldn’t auto-logout at all. If you are so worried about robots, then switch to 2-factor authentication or something.

Hi all,

Thank you for all the answers provided so far - very helpful! Our developers who are investigating this problem have asked for more info from you to speed up the process. Could you please tell us:

  • Do you have to log in every time you relaunch the app or is this happening every time the app gets an update?
  • When you get logged out, can you log back in straight away or you need to restart the app?
  • Have you downloaded the app from the Windows Store or using a direct link for the .exe file?

Let us know the most you can, it can help us fix this quicker :thumbsup_tone2:

I was searchin’ for this, I thought I was the only one having this issue. I’m on a Mac, Mojave OS.
Hope it gets fixed before the trial period ends, it’s extremely frustrating and to be honest, a deal-breaker.

Just took me 10 minutes to solve captchas and feed Google AI - AFTER i entered correct credentials. Thanks Deezer.

If I get captcha one more time, i’m unsubscribing from this service.

Hello all, we understand your opinion and we agree as users. Our teams worked on this, we are now expecting an update from them and we will let you once we have more information. The new version should be much more user friendly in this regard. I know the waiting is very frustrating, and I’m sorry about it.

Have a nice day

Same here - the constant logging-out and capcha with buses or hydrants is really annoying and I am almost at the point of cancelling my subscription. Guys are you going to solve this anytime soon? I used Spotify before and never had such a issue like here.

Thank you.

Hey  @Migue @jan.potocki @teqteq @AMircea @Oguzcan Yavas!  I am sorry about this, but reCAPTCHA is just a security procedure to protect your Deezer account.

Please feel free to share your feedback  here  :)

It keeps protecting my Deezer account from myself. It protects me from getting what I paid for. On the long run, it will protect Deezer from getting money.

Until you stop getting my money will be a rather short run, though.

A deal-breaker indeed. A thousandfold deal breaker.

Hi it is really annoying!!!
Is there any way to avoid this?

I want just play some music. Start Deezer app aaand….
1) I have to enter email and password
2) I have to “pass” google verification clicking on pictures (not one, but more - neverending) - takes really too much time an nerves.

The similar frustrating is in my android car audio. I am not online every time and in those cases
I can not play music downloaded, because login failed!!!

uff, really considering to stop subscription.., :(
Or is there some solution?

I am one of the many frustrated desktop app users. Will not add anything new, but would just like you Deezer guys to come up with a more user friendly login procedure, fast. I was already annoyed by it many months ago, but expected it to be due to a faulty version. Not the case, as I read these threads.

Make it simply two factor authentication with use of an autenticator app if you want to secure your logins (and prevent abuse of the subscription regulations, I assume). I would be quite happy with that.

Hi. As a user with a HiFi subscription I would expect to have a more decent way of logging in and not this mockery. It’s beyond infuriating to see all the comments in this section and no action taken from you to modify the login captcha options. To spend every 2-3 days half a minute selecting captcha to be able to listen to your paid music. Are you kidding me?  Please pay a decent programmer to update your application to 2020 if you don't want to end up with a lot of canceled subscriptions.

You guys did it and lost a subscriber (me). The waiting was indeed frustrating, but I quickly fixed that by moving to another (better) service. 😁
