After the announcement of the new logo and the new identity of Deezer, we took the time to read all your comments and feedback in order to address your concerns and understand your feelings


Opinions are very divided and several details were pointed out, including one that came up quite often: Why did you choose a heart 💜?
One comment cited “there is a more distant connection to music compared to the old logo”
 

The beating purple heart simply represents love and passion for music. The shapes of the logo vary to signify musical rhythms. Its movement and pulsing quality directly reflect the essence of music and the human response to the listening experience, much like a heartbeat.
 


Another question was “why did you decide to change everything/what is the purpose of this new identity?”

Deezer helps you “be and belong,” going beyond streaming to empower fans, artists and partners to express themselves and connect through our products and services.

Refreshing our visual identity is essential as we enter this new era for Deezer. This allows us to connect emotionally with music fans, artists and strategists through visual cues that let people know that with Deezer they can experience music, not just listen to it.
 

“The choice to have prioritised this change was not the best, it would have been good to strengthen the user experience rather than degrade it.”

Satisfying our users experience is indeed crucial. Development and modification choices can be complex, which means that the change itself was so significant that some bugs crept in during this transition. All have been flagged by our developers and technicians, who are already fixing these errors.

 

The identity change will be present in all future app updates. We hope you will adopt the new design and enjoy the new Deezer experience.

We adopt this new identity with pride, and although not everyone likes it yet, we still hope to find a place in your hearts 💜.

I Hate the new logo. What is this some sort of Kaiser Permanente crap? Why ruin something that was already good.

I agree the logo is not great but what really perturbs me is the total upset of the UI. I have no idea how to operate the program anymore. Why in the world would they totally change the operation of an app that no one was complaining about.  Its incredible to me that so many times a company will make a change to the detriment of a product just because some idiot had to justify his job and come up with a new “idea”.

I would hope that due to the overwhelming amount of negative PAYING CUSTOMER feedback they are receiving they will reverse their change and bring back the old UI. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them try and issue some BS statement that they are getting positive response when EVERYTHING I have seen is negative.

For the time being, I’ve figured out a way to remain on the old design on both mobile and PC, but should a later change break something critical on these older versions I’m outta here

Yep, they deleted many of the posts. Easier to delete the negative feedback then own up to it.

Was curious, yep rebrand is affecting the stock too ever since they changed it. Jeeze, what are you waiting for to go back to old logo and design?

 

Compared to Sirius XM who successfully rebranded at same time..

 

Sony also rebranded at same time, go check they are up too..

Deezer has been actively deleting negative topics,

I had a topic voicing my opinion too, as well as there was a poll topic. both got deleted.

 

If you cant handle valid critisism, you just delete it, amirite?

their way of saying F YOU to actual paying customers. freggin clowns. they deserve all that is coming.

MY mistake, seems they have merged some of the posts people made INTO this thread. not sure where to find the poll though.

Yup - the entire thread with the poll has been deleted, along with others. Last time I saw it it showed about 87% votes against the redesign, a few percent for and the rest indifferent.

I just scrolled through this entire thread, and although there's an earlier screen grab of the poll results, the poll itself is not here. The links I have to it in my email now lead to a 'post not found' message.

the new logo really sucks but this is not the worst part: what have you done with the Flow algorithm seriously? I cannot find the feature to get random mix based on my favorite artists anymore. This is a bummer. Flow does not take into account my profile and preferences anymore. Looking at the very long list of favorite artists I have in my account (I've been a user for a very long time), how the hell can Flow possibly propose Dire Strait or Van Halen to me??? Has it really looked at my list of favs? I feel very cheated. Please restore previous UI and previous features! A

I agree.. The old one had the identity of Deezer from the DNA up - especially with the Music Graph Visualization Logo … the new one has Nothing to do with music at all. Feels like a dating or love stuff app…. so sad...

This is the logo I love and will always miss…

They have started deleting all the nagative threads. Stock has done down and they must be seeing memberships decrease. I’m peosonally going to have to move all of my music to a new platform if it doesn’t change back.

They deleted the posts of many people saying that the redesign sucks.

Heck, I made a post, got a reply from Felipe9999, Deezer told me via email, that Felipe9999 replied, I go to reply, and it shows up with a “Page not found”. 

I’m going to say it once and for all, just use freakin’ Spotify or YouTube Music, or we could back to buying/pirating music and ripping them with Windows Media Player.

Alright so, i have been a longtime Deezer user (since 2016), and a new community user. Now, i actually liked the old Deezer logo with the bars and capitalized text. And now, everything is purple, and the logo is a freakin’ heart, and they’re using what looks like the Fortnite font, and it just dosen’t look good at all.

Alright, looks like they deleted my post, and made into a reply.

The new design isn’t great… but the absolute worst part is that people not using playlist are completely left out.

It’s completely counter intuitive to find albums and artists now.

You have 3 options :

  • add artists and albums bellow download
  • add an option to revert back to the old layout (with all the favorites link)
  • (best) allow the user to chose which favorite they prefer (artist, albums, track, playlist) with a search bar

the last one would be a MAJOR UI improvement: being able to fire up deezer and filter your desired artist right away would be fantastic (and no, the global search isn’t an option, it barely works)
