After the announcement of the new logo and the new identity of Deezer, we took the time to read all your comments and feedback in order to address your concerns and understand your feelings
Opinions are very divided and several details were pointed out, including one that came up quite often: Why did you choose a heart đ? One comment cited âthere is a more distant connection to music compared to the old logoâ Â
The beating purple heart simply represents love and passion for music. The shapes of the logo vary to signify musical rhythms. Its movement and pulsing quality directly reflect the essence of music and the human response to the listening experience, much like a heartbeat. Â
Another question was âwhy did you decide to change everything/what is the purpose of this new identity?â
Deezer helps you âbe and belong,â going beyond streaming to empower fans, artists and partners to express themselves and connect through our products and services.
Refreshing our visual identity is essential as we enter this new era for Deezer. This allows us to connect emotionally with music fans, artists and strategists through visual cues that let people know that with Deezer they can experience music, not just listen to it. Â
âThe choice to have prioritised this change was not the best, it would have been good to strengthen the user experience rather than degrade it.â
Satisfying our users experience is indeed crucial. Development and modification choices can be complex, which means that the change itself was so significant that some bugs crept in during this transition. All have been flagged by our developers and technicians, who are already fixing these errors.
Â
The identity change will be present in all future app updates. We hope you will adopt the new design and enjoy the new Deezer experience.
We adopt this new identity with pride, and although not everyone likes it yet, we still hope to find a place in your hearts đ.

Uninstalled it the second I saw the now playing bar hovering needlessly and wasting my screen space, let alone every corner rounded because right angles aren't cool anymore, and the gross coloring, font, and icon.
I'm sick of this aesthetic, and I'm sick of lazy UI developers racing to implement their versions of it because their too afraid to be original. It's the equivalent of Corporate Memphis in app design.
I liked Deezer because it retained a more mature UI while Spotify dumbed its UI down and removed options. I came here to get away from this type of toxic, anti-user development mindset. The kind that believes they'll accept anything so take everything you like away from them. You don't have nearly enough brand loyalty to be taking options and usability away.
I rolled back to the previous version via APK and the second this version stops working is the day I cancel.
Great idea. Iâll do the same.
@ybruy The new identity will be present in all future updates and it is not possible to switch to the old logo. Thanks :)Â
All I needed to hear. Cancelling my HiFi subscription.
Hi there,
I donât really like the new icon, seems a bit lovey-dovey, and doesnât represent what the app means to me.Â
So thatâs a ânoâ from meÂ
Â
They canât even design their email signatures correctly. ââââââ
Â
The thing that really gets to me about the rebranding is that this couldâve been fun.
People like having opinions on aesthetics. Deezer users are here because we like Deezer, it feels more personal than Spotify et al. It feels like something we all have a part in.
Except we obviously donât.
We couldâve had a poll, a beta testing period, or whatever else. Deezer could have gotten some hype going, gotten the community energized. They want to create connections between users? What better occasion than a debate on icons and color schemes! Maybe the result wouldnât have been objectively better than this, but it wouldâve been our choice.
But no, they rolled it out without asking. And they did a very slapdash job, which couldâve easily been prevented if theyâd taken feedback first. It didnât occur to them to check for accessibility .
Look at the announcements: âWe tell you moreâ makes it clear thereâs a hierarchy and users are at the bottom of it.
Most of us dislike change, and sometimes change has to happen. But more than that, nobody likes feeling ignored and helpless. I think thatâs a big part of why the rebranding got such a backlash. Itâs why Iâm thinking of switching to Spotify. Sure, itâs ugly and impersonal, but I guess Deezer is too.
What a crap explanation, you put a Dating App icon on a Music App. Crap on the phone, worst on PC. I have to share my screen for work, and here we go âa dating appâ on the task bar.
At least give us the option to change to the old one or something else.
Really poor design, what else can I say. The first disappointment in many years of using the service. Deezer team, you have always been such great guys. The previous design was very cool, put everything back for now and look for a new designer, let him do something no less beautiful based on this, then make a vote. Honestly, it's done ridiculously now.
patronizing much?
kthxbye.Â
subscription cancelled today.Â
Vote with your wallet.Â
mHi.Â
Â
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Deezer. It's my go to choice for music, however deezer's new UI is truly a crime against humanity.Â
Â
Please, deezer devs make a switch in the app that allows users to choose between the new and the old UI.
Â
To all those who requested a ârollbackâ option: Iâve just discovered that it is possible to have both versions, new and old. At least in a PC.
In my computer Deezer opens at startup still using the old look and feel, and I can simply switch between the old and new.
We really need a way to change this font back to something more legible.
Hi @Roger Flores, I wanted to share that some of the issues you mentioned have been addressed in the current beta version, particularly the features related to albums like our User @awesomemac mention. Our team is actively looking into the matter of going back to a playlist. Regarding CROSSFADE, it's worth noting that it's available on iOS but not on Android. To better understand the situation with album art/covers appearing smaller on the playback screen, could you please provide more details or share a screenshot or video? Thanks for your patience and collaboration!
Â
Just popped in to see how the poll is going. Itâs not getting any better, is it?Â
I donât think a poll is not always representative. The people who are happy or have nothing to complain with the new âlook & feelâ wonât go to the community and post what their thoughts are. They go using Deezer like they used before with the new looks.
People that have a different opinion than Deezer or donât like the new looks are more willing to post their opinion and because of this, a poll is not always representative.
Â
You have people like us who complain on forums because we care and people such as my wife who uninstalled the app without blinking. I was asking her the other day what she thinks of the new update and she couldnât care lessâŚÂ she was like the new update is ugly so Iâm using â...â now.Â
AS SIMPLE AS THAT. No drama no nothingâŚÂ
Â
And if you think a poll is not always representative, itâs most of the time the closest to reality no matter how much you scale it down. Political polls are crucial and a strong predictor to the success or failure of the movement.Â
Â
Have you seen the latest reviews on Google play and Microsoft store? Â
Â
Â
Â
And of course the Deezer bot replyingâŚ
Â
But letâs be objective and honest about it; do you think this is acceptable?Â
Â
Â
I swear it looks like an XXX chat adware minimized to trayâŚ
Â
Iâm paying $19.99 / month which is even MORE EXPENSIVE than my Netflix subscription ( the irony ) and I expect a premium experience.
Â
Itâs quite the opposite frankly and I suspect you will sustain the business growth with such attitude and strategy which is unfortunate but plenty of alternative around.Â
I feel sorry for you.
Â
This would have happened in any company during the brainstorm that lead to all this...
⌠except at Deezer:
Â
Don't care about the logo at all. Please get back the Shuffle my music feature. Â

I love the first review basically:
User: âIâm not interested in experience platform for musicâ
Bot: âWeâre creating an experience platform for musicâ
Canât make this stuff up
@Deezer any chance of a 'classic view' version as the new appearance is underwhelming to say the least. The equaliser icon was perfect. Why make a change that no-one asked for?Â
Get it together Deezer, you said mixed reactions? All of them are negative, taking away features that made the app different are going to do you any good. I know you´re trying to âFit Inâ with the corny purple barbie heart but why playing with shortcuts, fonts and  Why is it no longer possible to go back to a playlist by pressing the playlist name at the top of the playback screen? This was a very useful shortcut. Do better deezer most of your users stay because they don´t have the time to switch years of playlists to another app.Â
I have cancelled my subscription as a result of the redesign. I left Spotify when they started shoving podcasts down my throat ( I donât use my music app for podcasts, period) and making random UI changes for no reason. I tried Qobuz and Tidal for a month each before landing on Deezer, which was reliable enough and had an excellent UI.
Deezer has overall been buggier, slower, and less stable than Spotify. I have reported these bugs over the past year, no improvements have been made. However, I stayed because of the sane and reasonable UI. Just leave me alone and let me listen to my music.
Now Deezer has the worst UI of all the music streaming apps, some small features have been removed, and all of the bugs that have been annoying me all year are still there. Itâs unfortunate that developer time was designated to such a pointless endeavor instead of fixing actual technical problems.
Deezer, I vote with my wallet. I had already cancelled to send a message, your condescending and dismissive response to this community really seals the deal. You wonât get a single dollar from me with this attitude.
I think Koto screwed you over, Deezer. They should have designed a âDâ or some music-related image for your new logo, like headphones or a speaker (or, I dunno, audio level lights!). When I look at Kotoâs very good work for Venmo, Amp, Bolt and Backmarket, I see a design firm that gets it right, project after project. Until they took a stab at Deezer. I am fine with everything but the heart logo. I like the use of purple. I like the curvy, wavy art direction and bright colors. But the heart has to be replaced with something that has a closer relationship with music. The heart belongs as the âfavoriteâ icon. But it has to go as the primary logo.
I subscribed for a year mostly because the UI was so clear and accessible compared to Apple Music and Spotify. It was the one thing you did better than competition. Then you ruined it.Â
Deezer, you can still backtrack gracefully and retcon all this nonsense as merely Halloween / Valentineâs Day jest.
New logo doesn't represents and identify me, you should let people choose, at least the color. Now I have to move the app because it looks awful in my principal display. Really considering now to cancel it and get Spotify.
Yes, fully agree here. Taste and color are personal. You canât choose for us. Original logo was multicolor, embracing diversity. Now by picking on one colour you let all others behindâŚÂ including me. As a result I already cancelled my subscription to Premium which will be effective end of November. I would happily reactivate it if you flex your new identity, listening to all comments received... but I will switch to Spotify if the purple heart stay as is. Thank you for listening.
I just feel really annoyed abut the change. Its just embarrasing to look at now. Please Deezer change this back. There was nothing wrong with the old Deezer. It was low key and classy. I just canât stand looking at the new version. I love the app in general but this is making me think about leaving.

Have you Deezer people lost your minds?! Phycho babble.Â
I don't want you to "connect emotionally" with me. It's creepy.Â
âââââYou are just a streaming service. Cut the BS, please
Instead, differentiate yourself on your (former) clean and simple screens. Features. Catalog.Â
I can live with the horrible logo and Fortnite font. But please get back the Shuffle my music feature.
