Deezer App disconnects from Google cast but music keeps playing

I am able to cast music successfully from my iPhone X Deezer app to my google cast device enabled speakers. I notice that if I swipe the app
away and use my phone for other things and re-open the Deezer app, it forgets that it is still casting to my speakers. As such, I’m unable to skip tracks or adjust volume through the app unless I cast again - anyone else experienced this issue?

Hi there, I haven't heard about this issue yet. Please open the app and go to the settings > app > and clear the cache. Let me know if it works! This will remove all downloaded songs, but it will be good to try!

I have the same problem and I will not subscribe past my free trial if this isn’t fixed. It’s incredibly frustrating. When using the Deezer app to on the iPhone to cast to a Google endpoint (Chromecast, Audiocast) it loses connection every time I go to use a different app on my phone.

I just realized that I got the same kind of issue on both my iOS devices (iPhone 8 iOS 13.2 and iPad Air iOS 12.4.3). Each time that I left Deezer app in background the connection to the Chromecast Audio device is loose and I can’t do anything up to a new connection setting, but the streaming is continuosly operated without control.

We hope for a quick updating to solve this problem.

Regards

Hey @Ryan33 @nbruni69  sorry about that :/ Can you please clear the cache, install the app again and let me know if the issue persists? Please consider that this might delete your downloads but your music (playlists, albums, favourite songs) will still be there - you’ll just need to download them again ;)

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried to implement it step by step but unfortunately did not have the desired effect on both devices.

I await further instructions.

Hi there @nbruni69

At the moment we're working on a better integration, that will hopefully solve many existing issues. What version of our iOS app do you have?

iPhone 8 iOS 13.2.2 and iPad Air iOS 12.4.3, both has the same issue.

Thank you for reporting it @nbruni69. So you've got our most recent version of the iOS app? It could be a bug. We'll be looking into it :thumbsup_tone2:

The 8.0.1.1 version is Now running into my device and, looking for it into the AppStore, seems to be the latest Version available NOW.

Has anyone resolved this issue? I’m experiencing this too.

I hated Deezer on Android but recently got an iPhone. Gave it another try and I am also experiencing this. It disconnects from my Google speaker the minute I leave the app. I’m trying to love Deezer but the app on both platforms is making it difficult. 😔

I have also encountered this problem when streaming to B&O Beosound 2 via Google Cast.

Unfortunately this problem totally destroyes the user experience. Spotify does not have this problem and even though it doesn't offer true HIFI (FLAC) I always end up going to Spotify because it “just works”.

Guys, thank you for reaching us. We're still working hard on our new Cast integration - which should end a lot of your problems. All I can ask now is a bit more patience from you, @Yke24 @VoodooVince @JGoff @nbruni69

We're expecting more updates about this before the end of this year :thumbsup_tone2:

Well trying to cast from the iPhone app is a disaster.

Hi there @barcoen

We're still working on it.

In the meantime, you must be aware that Beta OS and Beta apps can be buggy and it's normal :thumbsup_tone2:

Still not working. Any progress on your new integration?

Very very soon we hope, @BjornB we're polishing our new integration at the moment, so I suggest you keeping an eye on our future app updates and community posts

In today’s methods for app development it should be possible to provide an accurate timeframe when new releases are scheduled. It is extremely frustrating to keep on hearing “soon soon” to have a product fixed that I am paying for which isn’t working properly.

Please specify the version of the app or the release date so that I can confirm whether this problem is fixed or not (so that I know when I can start looking for another app which does work properly...)

Hello @BjornB, while I understand you as a user and as a professional, we prefer to wait before giving you the time of release to make sure the issue is indeed fixed and that we do not give you unrealistic expectations. I do understand your frustration however. That said, those cast issues should be now fixed since the release of 8.6.0.4 for iOS and 6.1.20.58 for Android. Please, do feel free to give us your feedback once you’ve been able to try on your side

Cheers
