Linux needs a native client for Deezer!

I know that exist a client for Windows and Mac, but I can't to find any one for Linux. In my opinion the web version es pretty bad and the company can develop a port for their client.
I think that is important to cover all the platforms for all the users.

I recently created an Ubuntu script to install Deezer based on the fantastic work done by IlyaGulya and SibrenVasse on an AUR package for Arch Linux. It should work on Debian too since Ubuntu is based on Debian, but I haven't tested it.

You can view instructions on how to install it here https://github.com/siphomateke/deezer. It's not at all official and isn't guaranteed to work with future Deezer versions but it's what I am now using.

I'm not sure why Deezer hasn't added support for Linux yet considering the Deezer desktop app for windows is an Electron app and runs just fine on Linux with a few minor tweaks.

Hopefully this helps my fellow Ubuntu users.

This brazilian Linux distro have a unnoficial client for Deezer in the store. Just install and use, not a “web” version, is a full desktop client for Linux, where you can download the music, for example.

Try this Brazilian Linux dist, they have a unofficial Deezer in the Store, just click “Install” and it’s done. This isn’t a web, like Mellow Player, but a full Desktop Client!

Deezer devs, we need native Linux app, a snap package would make it compatible with all Linux distributions. Spotify has Linux app, and it’s pretty easy to implement it with Electron technology.

To have a web player without a memory leakage would be good enough already. At the end of the day we aways have our web browser open. The web browser interface and experience is indeed very good, but the current memory leak makes it unusable =\

Has anyone been able to bring up FLAC/HiFi mode on this thing? I’m not seeing this as an option.

I managed to get FLAC on Arch/Manjaro, but not on Fedora using siphomateke’s build script. davidbailey00’s script builds a deb which after conversion to rpm fails to install on Fedora due to a conflicting core OS package (filesystem).

All right, davidbailey00 script is definitely a no go. On Xubuntu it builds successfully but it’s impossible to actually use the app at all: a message saying “you’re in” is all there is in the Deezer’s window. It tries to open a browser to authenticate but fails with an error. siphomateke’s script works and there’s FLAC support in Xubuntu.
