Something like Spotify added recently.

Couldn’t agree more with this ^ ^ ^
Give us some transparency !
I just want to bump this tbh, been waiting years for this to be implemented now
I decided to trial Deezer, as I heard they don’t have song download limits like Spotify.
Then you heard something wrong, the current max. limit is 2k for almost everything on Deezer:
https://support.deezer.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115004522449-Content-limits
And there are a few existing browser extensions for the Deezer web player to show the current track in your Discord profile, already mentioned in this thread.
The browser extension is merely a bandaid solution, and doesn’t allow simultaneous listening or any of the other features that Spotify provided when they chose to work with Discord.
Hello all!
Going to bump this as I’ve recently moved to Deezer from Tidal and I’ve already had one of the complaints I had with the service resolved, that being the new release notifications, so, here’s hoping the ball can continue rolling.
Being that I was with Tidal, they also don’t have this natively, although, there was a very nice third party application that simply hooked the application and provided this functionality for the most part, but, with Deezer, the best option is a completely separate player with the function built-in, which, is clumsy and not very well built and just emulates the browser version which isn’t preferred.
Having simple, native Discord RPC would be so amazing, social features are so important for a streaming service nowadays, I personally love that route that Spotify has taken and love to share my music with other hence my blatant use of LastFM with all streaming platforms/services mobile or desktop.
Seeing this come to Deezer would be a dream come true and would solidify my ambitions for this service, as, I’m already overjoyed with the service!
Deezer on Discord it works!
You just download Deezer Discord extension from your Google store.
You just download the Deezer Discord extension from your Google store.
Thanks for the notice, but, as good as that is, I do not use chrome, nor do I listen with the web app, I prefer to have native RPC through their desktop application which I think a majority of users would prefer over a third party extension.
I’ll state, I do realise there are third party clients that emulate the web version and can enable RPC, but, that’s not what I’m after, it would be nice to see the application implement native RPC through its own release!
Right now it seems there’s nothing else ln the table.
If that changes I am sure Deezer will let us know. Thanks :)
We need that feature so bad, I hope it would be available soon. I use discord daily and seeing my friend’s status on what song are they playing atm, sometimes I also wish to display what music I play as well. It would probably bring more people to Deezer too, who knows
I think I did not mention it in this thread already: if you scrobble your Deezer listening to Last.fm, you can also use .fmbot to show your last listened Deezer track in any Discord channel (not the current one, as the Deezer API does not offer that info). The Discord server admin has to invite .fmbot to the server, and all server members have to be indexed once, and then you can use any .fmbot command to show statistical data related to your Last.fm account and the ones of all other server members who also scrobble from Deezer or elsewhere.
As I cannot edit my posting in the Ideas section of the forum, here is another posting with a related screenshot showing my last played Deezer track in the #classical channel of the Last.fm server on Discord:
But as mentioned this works on any Discord server if .fmbot is installed/invited. The command I used was a simple “.fm”.
I just noticed that Discord lets you post clickable links to external sites in your profile now. Just click on the Settings icon in the lower left corner to edit your profile and fill in the links in the About Me section. For example I added my profiles on Last.fm, Deezer, Spotify and YouTube, but I guess Facebook, Twitter etc. would also work. The limit for your About Me is 190 characters, and you have to use the full link, partial ones do not work.
This is different from linking your social media accounts in the related section of your Discord settings where you can add Spotify, Facebook, Twitter et al as well. Last.fm and Deezer are not available in that section, as there is no official Discord integration for them yet.
they’re never going to catch up to spotify if this takes almost 4 years to implement. i would really love for this to succeed since i think being able to upload your own tracks to a cloud service and put them in a playlist with the platform’s music should be standard. but the app on both desktop and mobile are not as seamless and snappy as spotify’s, we can’t even get our current song to be played on discord.
not played but shown*
Hello deezer-Team
I’m a bit disappointed of your behaviour with customer requests.
This idea was made three years ago (Almost 4 years) and there are a lot of people that would really like this feature.
The community has created own examples, so the implantation wouldn’t even be too difficult.
And you are always saying “This idea is great, but not for now.” Personally i find that a bit strange… 4 years and almost 300 people that would love the feature (and surely more that aren’t in the deezer community). The deezer-discord rich presence would make advertisement for you and you only have to pay once for the development and then the ad will be permanent. There are so many benefits!
I hope that deezer will implement this feature very soon!
This would be good advertising for you, as it already is for the competition who integrates with Discord in this way.
Along with being a better experience for your users, win/win to get this feature working!
Still no update about this? I can't believe how this takes so long, you guys have no idea about the free advertisment you'll be getting for including this
Need this feature down baaad. Please Deezer
Yes please do make this happen. It feels like it would be worth it just for the visibility alone, given Discord’s huge user base. Currently Spotify is the only music streaming service that we can connect to discord right now. Surely it would make some impact when people saw Deezer there with Spotify. Also, this seems like something Discord would include in the update splash screen on startup if/when this happens. Good advertisement.
Bumping up this idea since I’ve recently switched to Deezer and usually listen to music while on my pc. It’s a fun feature honestly and lowkey would really like to flex that HI-FI subscription . It appears though that it has been four years that this feature was asked, yet I’m still hopeful for it to be a thing.
Hi, i come from the French community, i just wanted to say that i’ve been waiting for this integration for too long, i might cancel my subscription to join spotify, i’ve been waiting for this for over 2 years, i can’t imagine waiting 4+ years.
I really think that overall, Deezer beats Spotify, but this feature is just too important to me.
Thank you
*bump*
Yeah, really thinking about quitting Deezer for this behaviour… I mean, even if u only got 1 developer, it would maybe take him half a day to implement this… Unfuckingbelievable, nothing else.
holy sh*** +4 years and still no discord presence...
All the votes have been transferred into this idea.
Why? What have an Discord Music Bot with an Discord Rich Presence to do?
