Deezer Discord rich presence

It would be neat if Deezer had Discord rich presence so it would display the current playing track, album art, artist name, how long into the track the user is and a link to the track.

Something like Spotify added recently.

Not only would this be nice for us, I think that when other people see it they might try Deezer too. Those are then potential new customers.

By the way, besides the Chrome extension for showing your currently playing song in the Deezer web player that I mentioned on page 2 of this thread, there also is a Firefox extension:

So there is support for all Chromium based browsers including Opera, Vivaldi and the new Edge Chromium as well as Firefox, I haven’t heard of a related Safari extension though.

Today I checked the Discord feedback site, and there is a thread where you can vote for a Discord integration in Deezer: https://support.discordapp.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360055030052-Add-Deezer-as-a-Profile-Connection

Not many votes yet, but I think it makes sense to vote there, because the Discord staff seems to watch it. If you already have a Discord account, you can simply login with it.

Today I learned that there is an open-source desktop player for Google Play Music called GPMDP created by an external developer which uses the same method as Deezer of simply wrapping their web version with the Electron framework. The new version has implemented Discord Rich Presence, so it’s probably quite easy to do and would not afford many developer resources. Some related links:

And before I forget: the new Winamp version called WACUP by former Nullsoft developer Dr.O also has implemented Discord Rich Presence as well as foobar2000 for a longer time already. These integrations may only work with the Discord desktop app though, because you have to pick e.g. WACUP as your current “game activity” in your Discord settings, then it will show the currently playing song etc. in your Discord profile, also in their browser version.
