Not only would this be nice for us, I think that when other people see it they might try Deezer too. Those are then potential new customers.

By the way, besides the Chrome extension for showing your currently playing song in the Deezer web player that I mentioned on page 2 of this thread, there also is a Firefox extension:

So there is support for all Chromium based browsers including Opera, Vivaldi and the new Edge Chromium as well as Firefox, I haven’t heard of a related Safari extension though.

Not many votes yet, but I think it makes sense to vote there, because the Discord staff seems to watch it. If you already have a Discord account, you can simply login with it.

It would be neat if Deezer had Discord rich presence so it would display the current playing track, album art, artist name, how long into the track the user is and a link to the track.

Today I learned that there is an open-source desktop player for Google Play Music called GPMDP created by an external developer which uses the same method as Deezer of simply wrapping their web version with the Electron framework. The new version has implemented Discord Rich Presence, so it’s probably quite easy to do and would not afford many developer resources. Some related links:

And before I forget: the new Winamp version called WACUP by former Nullsoft developer Dr.O also has implemented Discord Rich Presence as well as foobar2000 for a longer time already. These integrations may only work with the Discord desktop app though, because you have to pick e.g. WACUP as your current “game activity” in your Discord settings, then it will show the currently playing song etc. in your Discord profile, also in their browser version. But we do feel the same   thanks for contributing with your support here, we can keep pushing for the idea! 

The idea is excellent! This thing would be great to have. Deezer has became a pretty big platform, and service that this idea is quite deserving.

By the way, for the Deezer fans already on Discord: there is an unofficial public Discord server called Deezer Fans with more than 500 members.

That would be a great addition. It is another thing that I miss, coming from Spotify. It’s more quality of life than needed, but I’d like to show everyone what I’m listening and, also advertise Deezer. Someone that keeps seeing “Listening to Spotify” might be tempted to try it, but they might have no way of hearing about Deezer.

I talked to Justin, from Discord's Developer Relations department.

I run the unofficial Deezer Fans Discord server, and we are all looking to possibly bring a cool branding for Deezer to Discord's platform.

After some brief talk, we are going to look into making this work out. If Justin would still want to, he will talk with some of Deezer's employees, and staff to implement such.

Hey there! Yep, there has been a load of discussion ever since. Me, and some coders are working on this.

I had taken the time to talk to someone at Discord from the Developer Relations department. This will be integrated with the use of a bot, and APIs from both, Deezer, and Discord.

Things seem good, however, we need a bot host. Unfortunately, we needed to run on a free host, though lacks the necessary support.

I will talk to some people at Deezer about this. Hopefully this can be resolved.

Bump. Any updates on this? Would really like to see this happen as I switched from Spotify to deezer and this is the one thing I miss from Spotify. 

It would be awesome if there was a deezer bot that you can invite to servers and play songs playlists and top songs
