Shazam link to Deezer not working on Android and iOS

Only just seen this thread. I just installed Shazam on an iPhone 11Pro and on a Samsung Galaxy s9 running Android 10 to see if I could replicate the problem.

The iPhone version appears to be locked to Apple’s own music service, and I could not find a link to Deezer.

The Android version also has prominent links to Apple Music, but when you have a song selected, if you navigate to the Song, Lyrics or Video screens, there is a three-dot menu in the bottom right corner, in which the first two options are “Open in Apple Music” and “Open in Deezer”. The latter successfully opens the Deezer app, but I don’t know how it would behave if the Deezer app were not installed on the phone, and it is a very awkward way to access it.

Shazam’s developers naturally make their own decisions, but I’m glad to see from @Rudi’s comment above that Deezer is looking into this. 

This is happening to me for a few months now.

Sorry about that @John Sweeney and yes @Freezer, our devs actually deemed this problem fixed.

Is there a way you can upload the Shazam and Deezer apps @John Sweeney? What's your device model and OS?

I've also just upgraded from a galaxy s9 where shazam and deezer links fine to a galaxy s21 and an no longer getting the option to open my shazam in deezer. Both apps open and work fine on their own though.

Sorry to hear about this, and (as @Rudi says above) the developers thought this was fixed.

Since the same Deezer and Shazam app versions seem to have been working on my Galaxy s9 and yours, I can’t help wondering if this is an Android issue—either with the s21 firmware, or (if your new phone is running it) with Android 11.

I’m sure the Deezer devs will be looking into it.

Thanks @Freezer, fingers crossed. For info my S9 was running Android 10 and One UI 2.0, my S21 5g is running android 11 and OneUI 3.1. 

I have a Samsung Note 10, this feature always worked. And yes, all my apps are updated. Deezer "has been working" on this for months. What kind of techs are working for you? I'm moving over to Spotify.

This should be fixed, we tested it and it works fine. Could you please uninstall the apps, restart your device and reinstall them to test this out?

Open Shazam, on a Shazamed song click “…” at the top right of the full-screen track view. Then click on “open in Deezer”, you should have your track playing in Deezer.

Hi @Rudi I've followed the instructions you suggested but there is no change, I get the options to open in Spotify and apple music but still not deezer. Have made sure apps uninstalled, restarted, installed and logged into both deezer and shazam, have also restated again for good measure but still no deezer option from either the list of shazams page or the full screen page. 

Is there anything else I can try or any additional details you need to help identify the issue?

Removed both apps, restarted my phone, install Deezer then Shazam. Still the same issue 😕
