 Our Desktop/Web app can improve, and we need your help :desktop:

This is the topic dedicated to all problems you may face when using our desktop and web apps, big or small.

 What should I post here? :thinking:

  • if the app is acting in an unusual way, when you click on the menus and buttons, for example
  • if the player is displaying error messages, or if the playback is interrupted, let us know
  • if you're unable to login, or if the app kicks you out, we need to be aware too
  • if it simply crashes on you, when you connect or not to a device, it's better to leave a comment
  • if you have tips or workarounds to share, they'll be very welcome too

This topic is intended for version 4.20.0 and above, and for our browser version of Deezer :floppy_disk:

Hi

My Windows Version is 202H

I installed Deezer Windows APP today from the Windows Store.

 

Deezer App starts - I was able to login over the Web - then back In the App I must select a user profile (it’s a family account). After selecting the profile the app closes herselve.

 

I start again the app, I see for a short moment the frame of the app. Then it’s gone again.

I unistalled the app and installed it again. It’s working again until the step with the selection of the profiles.

 

Any idea?

Could you please give us some details about your system?

I have re installed Deezer HiFi on My PC and 2 phones. O the phones everything works correctly. But, on my PC app I cannot get hifi quality playback. The  audio is set to high fidelity. I have done a re install. The PC is set to 48000 Hz. The album covers or icons don`t show hifi either. Any help would be appreciated. Signed Frustrated of Thailand

Did you check the album cover in the play queue view? The normal album page and the thumbnail in the playbar will not show you the HiFi or HQ sticker.

 

Hello. It would be great if we can add airplay capabilities to the Desktop player.

I agree @padillg01 but I've just checked this with our devs and it isn't something we've got on the plans for now.

However, this year we're working on connectivity so one of the projects is to develop a remote connection tool from the mobile app. In any case, I'll be keeping you posted on these.

Thanks for reaching out.

Apparently, this issue is resisting to go way. Our devs are working on it, but it might be sorted in the next release after .30

The good news is that we're separately working on major updates for the desktop app in order to kill these annoying bugs once and for all. Thank you for your support!

When I press the spacebar, along with the pause of the audio, the behavior of the page element in focus is triggered. For example, if the focus is on the list of tracks, then pressing the space bar will stop the song and scroll down the page, and if the control panel is in focus, then the song is paused and in less than a second continues to play again (double actuation of the "pause" button).

This behavior is in the web version, in all browsers, for Windows and Linux.

Cleared the browser's cache and cookies, didn't help.

There is no desktop application for Linux (kubuntu is my main OS)

Want to know when this bug will be fixed?

Hello! Since the purging of k-pop on Spotify I came back to Deezer now that you have all those songs that vanished from Spotify 😛 also enjoying the HiFi plan so much <3

However… my desktop app (version 4.32.30) simply closes after about 2hrs of playing non-stop, no matter if it's directly an artist page, flow or a playlist. I first thought it was due to moving it to the other HDD, but then I got it back on the SSD and it still closes suddenly. I did download a playlist everytime, so I don't know if that might the culprit. 

Hope you can help me soon as I really really prefer you guys over the other apps :D

Hi deezer team, hi Ruslan !

 

I have the same issue, on Windows 10.
When the current window focus is changing with Alt+tab, I have to click on the Deezer UI to be able to use keyboard on the app.

For a better user experience, people just should do “Alt+tab , space” to play/stop music, like any player or music application (VLC, Spotify and much more)

Our major updates planned for the desktop app this year should sort that out.

In the meantime, try uninstalling it, deleting any Deezer folder you find and restarting your PC. After that, try reinstalling it, but from here:

I just installed Deezert on my laptop. When I play a song and wait for it to finish, the next song doesn't play, and when you press the button to go to the next song or any other song in general, the same song is produced from the beginning. I have to close my account and log in again to choose another song, but the same problem keeps happening again. I don't know what to do to solve this problem.


I’m having this issue and i have tried reinstalling the app. Is there any way to fix it? Doesn’t happen in the browser (Firefox) tho.

On-demand play does not work anymore for free users, only playlists prepared by Deezer, as far as I know, so that could be the reason.

Hello, I have a problem (else I wouldn’t be here ) 
I can only listen to one full song, as soon as the song is finished I can’t select any other song and it doesn’t make sound anymore… I have this problem since a week only on desktop app and I’ve tried deleting and downloading again, restarting computer but nothing works...

I just installed the app for Windows 10 from the Windows store (based on the link from the Deezer website). When I try to log in to the app, it opens a login window in my default browser, Explorer 11, which is required for other programs I use. I can enter my credentials, but it doesn’t seem to respond - it gives me neither an error nor does it login. Can I log in to the app with Explorer as my default browser?

It’s possible that IE 11 is no longer supported by the Deezer website, not sure. In case you already have Windows 7, you could also install the new MS Edge Chromium version which is a much better browser by Microsoft which does not need many computer resources.

Got same problem! And that drives me crazy  + after I reopen Deezer app and press play then ALWAYS I hear worst playlist ever created “Staff picks latvija” full with vomit pop what I dont listen at all!!!  And thats gets me really angry!!!!! 

Im already looking how to get refund becouse - censored that censored!!!!!!!

Bug: recently I added the newly available My Bloody Valentine albums to my library, but for some reason they appear at the bottom of list when I sort albums by "Recently added"; that only happens on the Mac desktop app, it works correctly on the iOS app.
