 Our Desktop/Web app can improve, and we need your help :desktop:

This is the topic dedicated to all problems you may face when using our desktop and web apps, big or small.

 What should I post here? :thinking:

  • if the app is acting in an unusual way, when you click on the menus and buttons, for example
  • if the player is displaying error messages, or if the playback is interrupted, let us know
  • if you're unable to login, or if the app kicks you out, we need to be aware too
  • if it simply crashes on you, when you connect or not to a device, it's better to leave a comment
  • if you have tips or workarounds to share, they'll be very welcome too

after listening to several tracks, an error appears, after which the desktop/web app does not work until I restart it. The problem has been going on for half a month

Hi, I've been trying to install the Deezer App on my MacBook (Sodoma 14.1) but I've getting the message that Apple can't check malwares on the application for this reason it allows me to open it. It also says that this app needs update and for me to getting in touch with its developer. 

I'm new to Deezer, being a previous Spotify user, however would be important to me having access to the Desktop App, could somebody help me out, please?

after updating to 6.0.170 today on Windows, the title bar is messed up… The whole thing appears to be the hamburger menu… and now the menu appears on the bottom left corner. please fix 

Absolutely the same. I can’t downgrade, because of Windows Store. Guys, you need act fast to fix it, because I pay for service I can’t use it.

That is a minor issue and a detail, but all other MacOS editor do it well but you…

It shows how much you re interrested in what you do when developping your softwares.

 

currently on windows 11. desktop version 60170.

Since yesterday for whatever reason the app seems to be broken. Menu bar is broken. I cant drag deezer from one monitor to another monitor.

Tried reinstalling the app.. not working..

What is going on?

 

Edit: just went back to version 60140 and its working fine now..

In the Desktop App, when we want to add a title to a playlist, the window is so little ! Why ?! Not fun to scroll when we have many playlists. (see image)

Really, your App is globally much less user-friendly than the Spotify one, please do better beta testing or something else...please. I would like to use french solution…

Hi Deezer team,

This is a super minor observation and the smallest of issues, so not a priority at all  🙂

I noticed that the dimensions of the Deezer app icon on MacOS seem to be different to every other app on my Mac. I guess it doesn’t conform to Apple’s standard app dimensions..? For reference, I’m on version 6.0.150.258 of the MacOS app.

Here’s what it looks like when in the dock at the moment:

The Deezer icon (4th from the right) is larger and more square than all other app icons.

But here’s what it would ideally look like:

I had a go at resizing the icon myself using Apple’s offical app template and have attached a .png version. I couldn’t attach the proper .icns version directly here, so have zipped it and attached that too.

Of course, this is an unimportant issue, but figured it could be a nice minor fix for those of us who notice these things (and some easy points for the dev team).

Otherwise, the app is working really well for me!

Hello @Arhan I went through several threads and I couldn’t a similar complaint, so I would say in first instance that this might be on Heos side. 

Have you tried some troubleshooting on the Denon app: 

  • clear cache
  • check if you have the latest version of Denon Heos app
  • reboot phone
  • unlink Deezer service and link again
  • Delete the app and install it again
  • if you have a second mobile device try from that device

Unfortunately there isn’t a desktop app Denon Heos to test from the PC. If nothing works, try to open a ticket in Denon Support. If the issue is related to Deezer api integration, they can open a ticket directly with Deezer. Please let us know if anything helped.

Regarding the Flac quality indeed, only stream in 320 Kbps is available. You could get the Hi resolution quality casting to our Denon device or using Airplay, which is not ideally.

Just took up Deezer to benefit from the streaming experience in my Marantz Cinema 50 receiver using HEOS. I searched answers with “album art” keyword but I couldn’t find a topic other than one from Android6 times which is old and irrelevant.

My problem is that I cannot see any album art nor reach the full functionality of Deezer from within Heos stresmer. I was fed up with having to move out of Heos go Ağple Music App and Airplay music that is why I moved to Deezer to be able to stream directly from within Heos app.(although Hi-res streaming is not allowed unlüke Tidal). But not seeing the album art nor being able to find music from Heos is also as bad of an experience as the Airplay. Is it a Deezer isssue or Heos and who can fix the problem, I can’t say. I’ll appreciate if anyone has more info on this. Cheers.

An upgrade is planned for later this year, which we believe will address this issue.

However, I must note that we don't have an exact timeframe for when this upgrade will be implemented.

Any updates yet? My month is about to expire and I’m not planning on resubscribing again until this app is actually usable.

Same Issue with The Windows Desktop app crashes when moving the window like @razorsoup

My setup is a laptop with full HD and 2x 27” WQHD screens.

When i move app to another screen, no matter which, app is crashing in 80% of tries.

Only maximize of APP and Win+Shift+arrow keys works

Happen on Win10 and Win11.

 

Second Issue, no notification that new update is available of desktop app.

checked the settings in app, but could not find where to switch on this indication

Today found, that all downloaded data at PC was removed, and smart cashe was cleared. But im’not doing that manualy. Deezer 6.0.120

These errors appear in the main.log file sometimes. Are they related to the crashing when moving or resizing the window?

I have checked the main.log located in C:\Users\myname\AppData\Roaming\deezer-desktop\logs but recreating the crash doesn’t cause any new entries to be written to the log. I cannot reproduce the issue with any other Electron app. I can reliably recreate the issue with either version of Deezer, by either moving or resizing the window.

The Windows Desktop app crashes when moving the window. I’ve seen other threads mentioning the same thing going back several months. I’ve tried both the app from the Microsoft store and the one downloaded directly from https://www.deezer.com/desktop/download?platform=win32&architecture=x86. The version is 6.0.110, running on Windows 11 Enterprise, 23H2, with 32GB RAM. Is there any fix for this? I’m trying Deezer out as a potential replacement for YouTube Music but the lack of stability leaves a lot to be desired and I’m not encouraged by the fact that this seems to be a long standing issue reported by other users and there hasn’t been a resolution

Also for the browser as workaround, try different browsers or alternatively use the incognito mode to see if you don’t get errors.

Does the issue happens on Wifi or on mobile data?

Could you try to proceed with these two steps:

  • Clear cache on Deezer app, Settings, Data and Storage. Also have your smart cache configured for 2GB
  • If that didn’t improve the experience, please remove the Deezer app, reset your device and install back again.

Hope that works for you.
