There are actually a lot of reasons I enjoy Deezer, and if I can sort this out it would be very nice to continue using it. I do sometimes enjoy auto-play, but only when I intend it to start, and I would expect it to be music in that style that I have already added or liked. Surely not top radio hits, and especially not explicit ones at that. Easy to see the potential for embarrassment in many social situations.

Doesn’t appear to be a solution for not hearing unrelated music after I play a song I searched for on desktop. This is the final time I hear some random song play that I didn’t want to hear. Subscription cancelled.

Sorry to see you go.

I will keep telling them about this issue as legends, but power is on devs and managers to do.

Deezer doesn't even deserve a censored dollar until he learns to play just what he's asked to.

Thanks for the feedback @Riverglass sad to see you go, I'll let the teams know.

Please refrain from abusive language @e2t, constructive feedback doesn't work like that.

HOW THE FUCK IS THIS ULTRA-BASIC PROBLEM NOT SOLVED 8 MONTHS LATER?!?!?!

Desktop user here. Used the switch to turn off recommendations. Now that switch has disappeared from the queue screen, BUT I STILL GET RANDOM SHIT AUTOPLAYING AFTER MY QUEUE ENDS!!!

I have tried to use Deezer for bedtime stories to put my kids to sleep and the unability to turn this autoplay thing is very annoying as it keep playing tracks on and on. The moblie app keeps on pushing stories and we get into fights with the kids when I have to stop the autoplay. I have been looking how to turn autoplay off at the end of a track but no luck.

Hi @Gizmo2021

Have you tried our Deezer Sleep timer?

That will help a lot!

  1. Select any music, audiobook, radio or podcast content to launch your Deezer player
  2. Tap the Sleep timer Sleep_timer_Chrono.jpg icon on the middle-bottom of the screen
  3. You can select your desired duration:
    • 5 minutes
    • 10 minutes
    • 20 minutes
    • 30 minutes
    • 45 minutes
    • 1 hour
  4. On iOS devices, you can also select:
    • End of track
    • End of episode
  5. You will see a notification to confirm timer is set

Note: To turn off Deezer's sleep timer feature or adjust duration, simply select the Sleep timer Sleep_timer_Chrono.jpg icon

Enjoy Deezer!! :nerd:

same, something wrong with situation when app doing something by itself, not by user request. I totally don’t like some random music after searching one track in desktop app. And I totally don’t understand this thing as a concept. If I want listen music that I can’t control, I’ll turn on radio. What the idea behind this solution?

Holy hell, I just started my subscription a few weeks ago and now I find out there is no fix to this apparently old issue? Will have to cancel again.

LOL

Now that is an awesome solution. Could you recommend some albums that are exactly

  • 5 minutes
  • 10 minutes
  • 20 minutes
  • 30 minutes
  • 45 minutes
  • 1 hour

long? Thank you in advance.

P. S.: LOL

Edit: Here was nonsense written by me, because I read the thread but hadn't really understood it due to tiredness. Sorry.

Hey @Neebl

So you want Deezer to be quiet after the current album?
Then just start an album and let it run to the end.
You don't need a timer for that, do you?

@dee_dirk

Seriously? I mean, what is this entire thread all about? Plus numerous others too. Plus at least one that I myself started over at the german community, in which you (I assume there is only one @dee_dirk over the forums) also replied (in good spirit and seemingly helpful, I must say)?

This reply of yours is just ridiculous, no?

@Neebl

OK. I may be a little overtired. Understand the problem. :hushed:
In fact, I was aware that it was currently only about the timer, but not about the automatic additions, which is why the shutdown does not work. Ashes on my head.

And yes: I am also the dee_dirk from the German community. There can only be one dee_dirk. :joy:

I've just changed my post, but you quoted me completely so that everyone can see what nonsense I've written… :sob:

@dee_dirk **** happens. It's all good 🍻

I recently cancelled my Spotify subscription because they forced autoplay after all albums and playlists using the “Spotify Connect” feature. There was no way to turn it off. Deezer is doing the exact same thing when I’m “casting” my audio to my Google Home devices.

Looks like I’ll be seeking out another music service. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to stop playing the album after it ends? I mainly listen to albums and I want the music to stop playing after the last track so I can find another album to listen to. I don’t want to listen to auto-selected nonsense.

Hey @mareep, @Neebl Have you deactivated the “Automated recommendations”? You have to do it from browser or desktop app. Start playing the album, Open the queue, Scroll down and deactivate Automated recommendations.

@Yula

The automatic recommendations unfortunately have nothing to do with the problem mentioned in the thread. I also deactivated it, but when casting, more titles are placed in the queue that are not wanted. :disappointed_relieved:

Why isn't this feature a mobile version?

This isn't an adequate answer. Of course I've deactivated the “Automated recommendations" in the queue. The autoplay is still happening when I'm casting to my smart speakers.

Apologies everyone, just wanted to make sure it was deactivated! This is an abnormal behaivour, I have notified our devs team about it. Thanks for reporting it.

I did that, but even on the android app, every time I search for just one song I wish to listen to, there comes a playlist I didn’t ask for right afterwards. I hate the way deezer pushes new music. I control the things that play , not someone else. It’s exhausting.

It's also strange that sometimes a style of music starts playing that I don't listen to at all and I don't like it and that makes it even worse. Please remove this automatic music playback that no one wants!!!

Yula, can you confirm that resolving this problem i.e. getting rid of unwanted autoplay is definitely included in the development schedule. A problem report must have been raised months ago and the change agreed by now. Surely all that is needed is to make the function “opt-in” on all devices.
