Why is subscribing so difficult?

I’ve been trying for three days to upgrade to Premium, but the website won’t accept my Visa. The PayPal link goes nowhere, and I don’t have American Express. Support was no help, saying I had to contact my bank. Bank confirmed there were no issues, and I made an online purchase last night. How are people paying for this?

While this issue hasn’t been resolved, I did find a workaround. I downloaded the Deezer app for Android, and paid for a subscription via the Google Play Store. Deezer Premium now works on Android and Desktop. I would assume this will work on iOS as well.

That being said, the payment site for the Desktop version (payment.deezer.com) is still broken and needs to be investigated.

There's probably a temporary problem with the payment methods.
Please send your email address to the community manager ​@Jaime.Deezer , so he can investigate what's happening with your account.
Be patient; he's in Europe, and it's already late there.

It’s really bad. I also couldn’t set my card, and support was so incredibly useless.

I understand your frustration ​@Pictor ​@ShuyoShark, however, all payment issues need to be handled by supports since this is a public space and we can’t ask for payment info.

Same issue here one month later. Trying to upgrade my free account to the one month premium trial but the payments page doesn’t take my card details. When I hit the submit button it spins indefinitely and nothing happens. paypal doesn’t work either. I’ve tried different cards, different browsers, on mobile and desktop, with and without VPN and nothing works.

I should add, they refused to add my Visa, but I made a virtual Mastercard and they DID take that.

Subscribing always feels difficult because apps keep throwing pop-ups, passwords, and endless steps at us but honestly, it’s kind of like writing Birthday Wishes for Friends: simple in theory, yet somehow we overthink it. At least with Birthday Wishes for Friends, you end up making someone smile instead of fighting a login screen!
