Question

yamaha musiccast music drops and cuts out

Hi everyone, hope someone can assist with a weird issue I've been having for the past couple of weeks (which didn't before, on the same network and same setup).

Recently, I've been experiencing audio cuts/drops when streaming deezer to my yamaha musiccast devices (RXV6A avr and a Musiccast 20).

The odd thing is that it only happens around the same time everyday (can run all day with no issues whatsoever but will start glitching at around 7:30 in the evening).

The network is solid (500 Mbps broadband, cast through a Netgear RAX20 router - WiFi 6 - and very good signal to both devices), and again no issues whatsoever at other time of day or any other devices.

It feels like a cache issue as if I pause the playback for a bit it seems to be a bit better, it also helps when I skip the song somehow but I can't explain how it's flawless the rest of the day.

Anyone experienced similar?

Thanks

interestingly, playback has now started to stop every other song or so. the track plays fine until the end but the following track in the pkaulist foesnt load the playback stops. I need to press play again a few times until it loads correctly.

it's quite the chore.

Hi @Anton7

Have you tried to unlink and link again your MusicCast from/to Deezer to see if that helps to solve the issue?

Also you can try to clear or empty the smart cache in your Deezer app.

Let us know how it goes!

hey @Alfredo.Deezer

Thanks for trying to help, I did log out from deezer and back in again from the musiccast app, three times, to no avail.

I don't see how the deezer app cache could be relevant here but I've tried that now, will monitor for another while and update this thread.

The audio degradation seems to have resolved itself but playback stopping after one or two tracks for no reason is still present. it's very annoying to have to re-load tracks like that.

anything that could cause this? I'm using deezer hi-fi setting and it's like the track fails to load and playback stops.

Hey!

I’ve had something similar happen before! It sounds like network congestion at that time, even with a solid connection. Other devices might be using up bandwidth around 7:30 PM, causing the drops.

Try restarting your router or setting a static IP for your Yamaha devices. Clearing the cache on both your Musiccast devices and Deezer app might help too.

Let me know if that works!
