Volume banner in deezer desktop app

When I change the volume on my windows 10 pc a Deezer banner appears in the top left corner of the screen. How do I remove this?

This happens while using the Deezer desktop application.

I understand its usefulness but there should be a way to turn it off. It can be quite obnoxious for users.

I have this problem as well 🤷‍♂️

As described  above, just came from spotify where i could have just cancel this feature and forget about it, where now it got stuck in the middle of the screen.

Hope it will be solved soon!

I'm confident it'll be sorted this year @elrohir :fingers_crossed_tone2:

And I'm following up all the progress around our desktop app - which will be getting extensive work on to improve. Stay tuned and bear with us on this!

Hi @Rudi,

Would it be fixed on the web version as well? I found several solutions, but it involves messing with registry or installing third party softwares, and it comes with secondary effects either way. Windows really sucks… but when could this be solved?

Thanks.

PS : +12k reponses in 2 years, how do you do that :o

Hey @GingaPowa

We're not sure yet, it's a bit hard to predict because we have to go through some hurdles first. Apologies for the experience you're having.

On another note, where did you get those figures? Just curiosity because of the stats I have for this thread

ok cool someone else has dev’d a nice little app making better windows flyout thing...
made a quick trashy video demoing it;

you can also find it on windows store thing…”Modern Flyouts”
https://github.com/ModernFlyouts-Community/ModernFlyouts

you can remove it completely when you play/pause and change volume if you couldn’t cba to watch the demo, just go through the setting or watch the demo vid...enjoy

Thanks for sharing your solution. I downloaded the “Modern Flyouts” in Windows Store and i’m satisfied with the result. However it’s a shame that Deezer still don’t give us this option.

Agreed with @Mazito as well, totally understand. Apologies on behalf of Deezer for coming short on this one - your feedback is duly noted.

Thanks a lot for sharing this with us @Squire :relaxed:

Just bumping to say I too want this feature in the desktop app still, please keep the dev team notified @Rudi , Thank you!

@Rudi

I am going to chime in on this but it is possible to configure this setting on the app itself, NOT in windows. There are several trick out there to remove the floating volume display for the windows operating system, and this is not how to go about looking into this. Lets Mozilla Firefox; the privacy focused browser. Ill just post this:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1301196

That should say it all. Windows 10 is NOT causing this. Lets look at another example for Brave Browser a privacy focused Chromium browser that way faster:

https://community.brave.com/t/get-rid-of-windows-10-multimedia-overlay/65612

This feature has to be incorporated into the application to allow windows 10 to display it. Here is the proof:

https://stackoverflow.com/questions/59346823/how-to-display-your-media-player-program-to-show-on-volume-control-on-windows-10

So really this is either the Deezer management team not allowing users to choose , the devs not knowing what they are doing, or someone on the dev team outright refusing to add the switch into the application. As a developer myself I know that some developers take offense when people suggest changes in their app and will resist with every bit of strength until they are over ruled by management on the matter esp if they are in a management role as well. I have seen it myself. Developers and management should take ALL feedback seriously and remember that everyone does not like or think the way they do.

I am asking for some reasons as to why this has not been done, and as a PAYING customer I feel i should be allowed to know a little where the hold up is please? Management or developers? This request is 3 years old. I kind of feel like we are talking to Google here ….

Best Regards

Thanks for all the feedback @carm001. I’ve informed our devs already and passed them all this info

So it’s been three years! Pretty sure it’s not that difficult to implement or even at this point steal a line of code from another music app that did it better, so that this issue y’all have ignored can get actually addressed! When are we fixing the app?

Hii Deezer,

Any update?

Thanks

Is there a time estimate for this?

The Desktop Notifications toggle doesn’t work. Windows Media Overlay is still showing in Windows 10, no matter if it’s on or off.

Our developers are working on it, for now I can say big changes are coming to improve the experience on computer, but we don’t have any specific dates yet. 😑

As soon as we have news around it, we let you know. 🤞🏽

Take care.

I’ve been looking for a Spotify alternative and just tried Deezer for the first time - the volume pop ups or flyouts are insanely annoying.

I can see that after 4 years Deezer has been pushing this annoyance to the side despite customers requests for a simple option to disable via app, instead customers are required to fix it via third party solution.

That says everything I need to know - farewell Deezer!

When I change the volume on my windows 10 pc a Deezer banner appears in the top left corner of the screen. How do I remove this?

This happens while using the Deezer desktop application.

I understand its usefulness but there should be a way to turn it off. It can be quite obnoxious for users.

To remove the Deezer volume banner that appears when adjusting the volume on your Windows 10 PC, you can try the following steps:

  1. Open the Deezer app on your computer, if it's currently running.
  2. Navigate to the Settings or Preferences within the Deezer app. This is usually accessible through a menu or gear icon.
  3. Look for an option related to notifications or pop-ups. It may be labeled as "Show volume banner" or something similar.
  4. Disable or uncheck the option to disable the Deezer volume banner.
  5. Save the settings and exit the Deezer app.

Any update ? It’s been 4 years -_- ?

Hi @Lucas Duperier could you share with us a video with a step by step just to see if I got it right.

I will reach out our developers with that in hands.
