MusicCast ”can’t register your system” or search returns ”No music”

I have a Deezer premium account. I have multiple Yamaha devices

wxa-50

wxc-50

nx-n500

a total of 4 devices.

These devices are installed in two separate homes. All devices are configured with the deezer premium account.

I just returned to one home that has the NX-N50. I started to listen to music via the MusicCast controller and started getting a ”No music” error messge when searching in the (clunky but working) MusicCast search interface for Deezer.

I logged out and back in. I got the ”cant register your system” error message. I tried both username and email as the login.

after looking at forum posts, i reset the nx-n500s, reinstalled the app, changed my Deezer password. I tried logging in multiple times to Deezer in MusicCast but same error message except one time when login was accepted but then any search gave ”No music”.

i can listen to Deezer on my phone and the nx-n50 can play Spotify so no real problem with musiccast, speakers or Deezer account. I also tried this on both iPad and Android versions of the MusicCast app.

i did not have any issue this summer, Deezer played nice with MusicCast at least on Aug 15th.

Hi @jonaspSE @Michal2000,  I'm really sorry to hear that you're facing this kind of issue.

Thank you so much for sharing this information with us.

I've already shared it with our developers, and I'm eagerly awaiting their response.

As soon as I hear back from them, I'll be sure to let you know.

Ive been waiting for that. Thank you. Let us know pls.

Hi and thank you for responding quickly. I will test this in my second separate setup tomorrow and will share here if the problem occurs also in this separate rig.

there are already several threads on this topic

see: https://en.deezercommunity.com/topic/show?tid=77666&postid=230357

Thanks. I read most of them before posting.

I can also share now that I do not have any Deezer issue in my regular home. Is there a restriction due to prevention of account sharing that Deezer can not be logged in on many devices. In this case they are all mine. J

Maybe you have a newer device at home that is not affected by the problem. Or you have found the moment when it works, the error is not permanent, for me it works fine every day after 11 p.m.

Thanks for suggestions @jedi_knight . The device in the second home, the standalone speaker pair NX-N500, are probably the oldest of the devices i have and as i said earlier, they worked fine in August. I also said that the login worked one single time out of 20 attempts using both iOS and Android versions of the MusicCast app but in that login, all searches returned ”No music”.

I wonder what actually logs in to deezer, the device or the  MusiCast app that then completely controls the device? I wonder as that would answer if it is musiccast app or Deezer that is causing this error. My working assumption is the MusicCast app is what authenticates to Deezer and get the id of a song/playlist to play. The ID is then passed to the device that pulls the stream from Deezer, ie the music is not streamed to the app and passed by the app to the player device. In this scenario, the error lies with the app and Deezer and as the app authenticates fine with Deezer in another home, i think the problem lies with Deezer. I just logged out from Deezer in the same MusicCast app and logged back in without a problem. Unfortunately i am not able to try again on the offending rig until i return there.

The situation has improved since yesterday evening and everything is working fine for me now.

Have to admit, It works perfect right now. We will see during the day.

Thanks @jedi_knight and @Michal2000 , i will test on my system as well when i return to that home which may take a while...

A question for the Deezer team is is you have made any changes or found anything of diagnostic value in their logs or other monitoring tools? I am mostly skeptical of self-resolving problems, they tend to come back...

Hello @jonaspSE thanks for all your help and feedback and I am happy it is working better for any affected users.
We reported the problem since some users reported it on the same day.
The problem has not been marked as resolved yet, but are devs have been working on from the moment the issue was reported on the 1st Nov.
Apologies for all the inconvenience and I hope it is fully resolved soon.
Thanks for your patience :)

I can also confirm that i am able to log in to Deezer via the MusicCast app for my powered speakers that did not work before.

Problem solved.
