Dear sirs,

Unfortunately I’ve lost a possibility to cast music in HiFi quality from my iOS device to an Android TV since last update which added lyrics to chromecast on Android TVs.  Casting to my Nvidia Shield TV is without HiFi ...but with lyrics now. Of course would be great if you add HiFi support for Android TV app, but since i bought Deezer HiFi subscription I’m forced to use chromecast to my Nvidia Shield TV device which is connected to HiFi Stereo system. And the difference in audio quality is  really noticeable.

So, I have HiFi subscription. 2 weeks ago everything worked fine (except all the time my iPhone 11 disconnects from chromecasting after 2-3 minutes (but sound continues to play on Android TV and I can handle it) until this update with lyrics arrived.

iOS 13.3.1. (also tried casting from an Android 10 mobile phone. The same issue - no HiFi now)
iOS Deezer 8.10.0.3
Deezer on Android TV (Nvidia Shield TV with the last updates) 3.0.0 (02.07.2019)

Uninstalled/Installed Deezer both on iOS and Android TV - no result

Could You please help me to solve this issue?

Thanks!

P.S: yes, I’ve set HiFi streaming on iOS Deezer

Hello @HDGuy thanks for bringing this up again.

Indeed would be a great thing to have Hifi on our native app on TV. Unfortunately, it is still not on our plans to have it.

I know that is not the same experience, but you can stream in Hifi quality to your TV using Chromecast feature.

This is crazy. Why are you not supporting a major platform!? Your competitors have android tv support... My friend added his tidal account when we were testing out my speakers and its a night and day difference.

I’m not going to use a separate device to stream music when my nvidia shield is more than capable!

Hi @HDGuy , thank you for raising again this point again.
Indeed, having HiFi on our native TV app would be fantastic. However, it's still not part of our current plans.
Although it may not be the same experience, you can stream in HiFi quality to your TV using the Chromecast feature.

So no software update for a major platform since 4 years, and nothing planned yet?

Hi @ueverett, thank you for your message.
Regarding the topic of having HiFi quality available on your native TV app, it's not currently in our plans.
However, you still have the option to stream in HiFi quality to your TV by using the Chromecast feature.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you don’t want to lose your customers then re-think about adding it to “your plans”
Trust me that you’re losing a lot by not providing one of the “HiFi” features that other companies provide :/

I came to Deezer because Apple Music doesn’t have an Android tv app and Spotify doesn’t have lossless.

An app from 2019 without hifi or the ability to play mixes is useless. Also the “X” button in the flow doesn’t work, and closing the app doesn’t stop the music and then won’t let other audio play until I “force stop” the app.  Deezer connect doesn’t work either. Overall a really unimpressive offering.

Your plans need updating. 4 years without an update on a major platform is a fail.

Hi @HDGuy, thank you for raising this issue once more.

It would certainly be wonderful to have HiFi quality available on our native TV app. Unfortunately, it's not currently in our roadmap.

I understand that it's not the same experience, but you can stream in HiFi quality to your TV using the Chromecast feature.

Really frustrating

I will switch to Tidal

Deezer must be def to not see why missing HiFi on android tv/google tv is a big deal. Why would users want to pull out another device just to stream to their current device which should have HiFi support… that’s such an anti-user way of thinking. It’s been years, get with it and update/modernize your apps. You will lose users and you will never get potential users that use one of the biggest streaming ecosystems. Users want Hifi but are forced to look elsewhere...

Maddening!
