Also, when browsing albums in Android auto it would be great to find based on artist. My album list is quite long and when trying to find a new album when I can't remember the name is difficult.
Any help here would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jon
The problem still persists and has not been resolved.
Hello
This would be a nice feature. Safer when driving. And other apps offer this.
Hi
Have you tried the suggestion of Julius mentioned at the top of page 1? Thank you
Hi,
I am new and using Deezer Hifi.
Still in Android Auto and Offline there are no albums and playlists.
When will this be fixed?
Best Regards
PS: Using Nokia 7.1 with all updates up to date
Hey
Thanks for reaching out to us. Have you followed the tips above?
If yes, hang in there a bit longer. We've got CarPlay and Android Auto improvements in the pipeline at the moment - so we hope to see improvements before the end of this year. We'll keep you posted
Hi Rudi,
thank you for your response.
Yes I followed the tips above:
- 1) I can continue to play the album that I was listening to before I connected to Android Auto. However - as you probably may know - I cannot change to another album later as the album list is empty in Offline mode. Clearly I don’t want to stop traveling each time I want to change the album. That is not what Android Auto was designed for.
- 2) I can keep it online and see all the albums. However, how can I be sure that the app is subsequently using the offline data and not eating up my mobile data? I did not find something about this. May be you can shed some light into it.
- 3) When online in android auto I can only select albums alphabetically and I prefer to see the albums that I added recently. I am not sure why the Android Auto app offers less useful features that the phone app. Great if you can add this.
Looking forward to your response.

I've passed your questions to our developers so that they can give us a more definitive answer
Glad I'm not the only one with this issue… so the 'fix' suggested here does work for offline mode, however when I start a playlist AA/Deezer only seems tot cycle through the first 8-10 songs and then stops playback. What's up with that?
Thanks for reporting it
We're aware there are a few issues with our Android Auto integration. So we've added improvements to our plans this year - please bear with us in the meantime and always keep your app updated
Hi all,
just updated to the latest Deezer Version. It claims to introduce specific areas for podcasts in Android Auto.
Sadly none of the folders show anything in offline mode. As a result Deezer is still useless for me while driving.
In contrast when using the app in offline mode all (!!!) albums are shown - not only the ones which are downloaded. In offline mode I prefer to see only offline content.
Hope this helps
Hi all,
since Deezer failed to work with Android Auto in offline mode It also failed at home to connect properly with Chromecast Audio for the last few days.
It shows all Chromecast devices and connects properly. But the content loads “forever” telling me that it is completed soon. I tried all tips and restarted everything - included the router - with no success. Other apps work well - so I knew my network and devices are OK in principle.
Today I found the reason: I forgot to switch Deezer app back to online. No hint is shown to remind me of that fact. Instead Chromecast behaves as if its online - but finally does not work.
Please fix this.
I can confirm this issue is still on-going as a Deezer Hi-Fi subscriber (well, soon ex, thanks to this issue and how it’s not apparently handled properly by Deezer).
The Android Auto interface of the Deezer app doesn’t show any downloaded offline content (playlists or albums), when in offline mode. The only remedy is to go briefly online with the phone app and then return offline. That way the Android Auto interface also seems to find/permit the offline content.
The Android Auto implementation of Deezer is really just crap compared to Spotify, which works flawless on Android Auto in terms of offline contents and it recognises my repeat and shuffle settings.
So 2 years and no fix. Check. Okay, I won’t stay around as a paying member any further then. Thankfully I can stick with TIDAL, which doesn’t have this offline issue and I get the source quality of Deezer Hi-Fi.
Thank you for your honest feedback
That's not really up to our standard, apologies. I'll refer your comments to one of our developers who can give a more substantial response to what you're facing. Please bear with us!
After 3 years of subscribing to deezer hifi I canceled last night as this and a bevy of other issues aren’t being resolved after years of being acknowledged.
I have tried every located troubleshooting procedure buried in this forum on a multitude of devices from various manufacturers in hopes the issues were simply flukes related to particular hardware, I really wanted this to work.
It is a shame as I generally have come to quite enjoy deezer, however competitors are providing a comparably priced service that seemingly do not come bundled with empty reassurances for future fixes of features that already work correctly on their respective platforms.
Really appreciate your honest feedback on this
Our work and commitment to reliability hasn't finished. We've been taking huge steps to improve it this year - but the work needs more development before reaching the finishing line. I’m having the same issue with Android Auto + Deezer. From what I can tell, the issue is that when Android Auto launches Deezer, it does not cause the app to load your collection (playlists, albums, etc). If I open Deezer on my phone before connecting to Android Auto, or even while already connected to Android Auto, and then go into my playlists, they all immediately appear on my car’s screen. In my case,
I’m not using Deezer in offline mode at all, I just have mobile data turned off at the phone level. So it seems to me this issue has no relation to the offline mode. Also, the fact that playlists immediately appear on the car if I access “playlists” on my phone tells me that the app is not somehow broken when it’s opened by Google Auto, instead it seems some of the actions that are run when you browse it on your phone are not triggered when Android Auto opens it. Maybe the loading of playlists et al is triggered by the UI itself, and so Android Auto does not trigger it. *shrug*
Edit: Android 10, Kernel version 3.18.140-20850384, Android Auto 6.8.613353-release, Deezer 6.2.36.65 (yes, updating now ).
It is July 2022 - this issue was reported years ago. It continues to be a problem. Deezer downloaded music will not play in Android Auto without a live data connection. (What is the point of a downloading the tracks if you have to have a live internet connection???)
Is there a plan to fix this issue - the only reason I’m a paid subscriber is so I can download music for playback when I’m off line. This works flawlessly --- until you try to connect your phone to your car. Then nothing work deezer’s app just sit spinning, or gives the error message that this fuction doesn’t work…
When can we expect a solution?
The 'helpful' error messages.
This is still a problem. Can Deezer explain why it's not fixed yet? Really frustrating and annoying. Android Auto interface is really very poor
Today my car was parked at a location with very limited connection. Which led to not been able to accessing Deezer menu in Android auto.
I was able to start existing album, but nothing more. After getting more connection (like three strokes in the Android auto UI) I'm getting the album cover and the possibility to skip, pause and start the song, but Deezer UI is still unavailable.
I have to turn off the car and start it again to get back the Deezer UI with menus etc.
The Deezer app should be made available in offline modus too.
I do also see that this issue, somehow, had been raised earlier:

Hi
To avoid any miscommunication, I have reached out to our developers for information regarding Android Auto and Deezer - Downloads and Offline mode.
I will keep you informed as soon as I receive any updates.
Any further update on this? I’ve choosing different streaming services, I’ve been with Deezer for a number of years due to BMW Online Entertainment but as that service has stopped, I’ve upgraded the car to Android Auto / CarPlay and taken out a subscription direct with Deezer.
This issue with Deezer will make me jump ship from Deezer to another service as has already been said in this forum it makes the offline mode useless with Android Auto. Thats a shame as I have no issue with Deezer other than this.
Hi
Unfortunately, Android Auto does not yet have the option to work in offline mode.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Other media players seem to be able to do what was asked here over 6 years ago.
Please enable the options to see what has been downloaded then. That would make it a lot easier already. Right now in online mode I cannot see which playlists are downloaded. That would make choosing a lot easier. Right now I have to stop driving, select a playlist on the phone and drive on.
