Wilder Woods

Wilder Woods, the moniker of singer/songwriter/guitarist Bear Rinehart of Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling group Needtobreathe, has announced the forthcoming release of his new album Curioso. Due out in early 2025 through Dualtone Records, Curioso takes a genre-bending approach to American music.

Rinehart says:

Happy to have the first couple of songs from Curioso out in the world. Both of these songs are really about the tension I think we all feel between the way we wish the world was and the way it actually is. Maybe it’s naïve to think that music can actually help with that, but it does for me. Love y’all.

The title for the new album comes from the youthful time that Rinehart spent at his grandmother’s house, captivated by her curio cabinet.

Waves

Dean Lewis

In a 2017 interview with Stack Magazine, Lewis explained the meaning of this song. According to him, he was very aware that people assume that the lyrics focus on relationships and that relationships are not what the song is about. He said the song is about the diminishing excitement of life. Lewis explained that the lyrics talk about how the excitement of life reduces as we age.

Since its release in 2016, "Waves" has appeared in several television series, most notably Riverdale. The chorus of "Waves" was sung by the song's co-composer, Nick Atkinson. This song received up to 5 ARIA nominations. Music Awards of 2017. He did not win in any of the categories in which he was nominated.

Just Cool

Obongjayar

His most recent works have analysed the state of society, both locally and internationally. A press release quotes him as saying, “Where’s our united humanity? Where is our united love for our brothers and sisters and children looking for safety and opportunity? Where is the love for our planet?” He asks in his 2023 song Just Cool, where the tranquillity is, and why power structures need to reinforce a system of violence on those searching out a better life. To “just let me cool”, seems to be a cry to let each to their own. In a world that is finding itself locked up, and increasingly hostile to migrants, the idea of being “Just Cool” helps one navigate the “Hyperbolic, Catastrophic…

Catatonic, S**t parade” that humanity is currently experiencing. As he says in a spoken word part of the song “There’s nothing new to celebrate. There’s nowhere left to run away. They’re closing off the open seas. They’re locking off the runways. They keep telling me the one thing. So far from everything I see. Your hands are covered in blood stains”

Narcissist

Avery Anna

😊

“Narcissist,” the cutting lyrics are introduced, “And I know you'll get over me / But can you get over yourself?” The song, which he co-wrote with Fanning, Ben Williams and Andy Sheridan, reached No. 4 on Billboard's Country Digital Song Sales chart and No. 15 on the Country Digital Song Sales chart in March, later peaking at No. 22. on the Hot Country Songs chart in June.

“I brought my journal into the writing room, and we were reading things I had written, and we were talking about a relationship I had had a few years ago. They helped me identify all these feelings I had. Honestly, writing it was something I needed to get off my chest, and something I needed to do for myself.

But releasing it was also for all the people who needed to get it off their chest. I didn't realize how alone I felt in that situation, but after posting it, I saw how many people relate to it. “It created this incredible community of people who felt safe in a space that I gave them.”

Another Life

Emerson Hurt

Emerson says his life experiences come through "185 percent" on this second solo album, the successor to his 2007 solo debut, "Cigarettes and Gasoline." Regardless, the songwriting process was cathartic.

"It always is. I'm a big proponent of therapy, which is great. But music is the biggest healer," Hart told CBS News. "It would help me work out things in my brain that maybe I couldn't tell anyone else until I actually put them into music."

"Everything fell apart," Emerson Hart said, recalling his first marriage. And that's part of what sparked the material on the band Tonic's second solo album, "Beauty in Disrepair."

In recent years, Hart went through a divorce and managed to find love again, sparking a flurry of creativity and musical inspiration. The ups and downs are scattered throughout the lyrics of his new material.

Not Your Man

Teddy Swims

😊

Composed of 13 melodies, the artist's new project arrives to follow the narrative of part one, giving a new space for development to those feelings that were somewhat pending.

"I've been evolving, growing and healing in many ways since the first one. On the last album, I felt like it left you with a lot of pain and no resolution. Of course, there's still pain in Part 2, but I think this time we've hit the nail on the head! a little more closure!", comments the artist about the sound piece.

There is no doubt that Teddy Swims is coming off a good season, and his 2024 year culminated with a 2025 GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist.
While he shone at other awards shows such as the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, where he received eight nominations and won two awards: Top Hot 100 Song and Top Radio Song of 2024.
